How Would You Guys Improve The Rift/Tome?

For me personally make it so you can do at least 2 challenges at the same time as there have been plenty of times where I could have achieved two challenges in one match had I been able to select both of them.

I would also like the challenges to promote less toxic behaviour. Here are a few challenges I came up with

Be in the killers terror radius for a total of 90 seconds without being seen

As any survivor heal two teammates with the perk We'll make it

As a killer break 10 pallets/generators

As a killer sacrifice all 4 survivors.

These are the challenges that should be consistent. Stuff like the unhook 25 survivors should be the harder challenges. I'm not saying make every challenge easy but put the more tedious challenges as the hard ones, not the basic ones.

Last but not least the Rift is way too grindy. Lower the XP grind slightly. People have other things to do beside sit on the computer all day.

Let me know what you guys would do to improve the Rift.

I just would delete the challenges based on luck and how other people play (like unhooking 2 survivors during EGC). Or probably make them as "side-challenge", but not as one required to proceed in the tome.

Also I'd like to select more than only one challenge to work on.

I'm okay with thinks like break 40 gens/pallets or unhook 25 survivors safely. These challenges might take a while, but you can be sure to be able to complete them during regular gameplay.

But I really do not like these luck based challenges. We should be able to archive these challenges during normal gameplay, and not be encouraged to hide in a locker the whole game in order to escape without beeing hooked once...

    More gameplay quality challenges.

"Hook every survivor once in ten trials while using Agitation."

Throw away difficult challengse and make it simple just like with rituals. It's clearly unhealthy for the game, It just promotes toxic behavior from both sides it's stupid.

    • Pick more than one challenge at any one time.
    • Less RNG based challenges (some survivor ones in particular are borderline impossible as a Solo survivor).
    • Challenges based upon a previous one but with a higher requirement to complete should also reward more.
    • @Aven_Fallen@Aven_Fallen's suggestion here is actually super interesting. Two different versions of each challenge, one that be beaten fast with skill or completed over time through grind.

Make two types of Challenges for each pile of BPs and Rift Fragments. One skilled one and a grindy one. Example for skilled one: Hook 12 Survivors in a single Trial. Or Grind one: Hook 30 Survivors. So people who are not as good at the game can go for the grindy path while people who play the game a lot and have lots of experience do not need to grind, but can get it done by playing good.

Looking at all these suggestions I agree with what everyone has suggested. The super grindy challenges really should be optional but since they are not optional they should have better rewards. 25 000 bloodpoints and 15 seconds of lore isn't worth doing a tedious challenge in my eyes. Maybe if they gave 100 shards instead of bloodpoints then it would be better.

Also yeah I 100% agree, get rid of end game challenges. Stupidest idea ever. @Aven_Fallen

They shouldn't lock the lore behind some of the more difficult challenges. those should be the easy grind ones.

    Big Bloodpoint rewards every tier.

    Everyone loves more Bloodpoints.

Remove the in a single trial requirements my god that would improve it so much

I agree, doing a tedious challenge and only getting 25 000 bloodpoints is a bit crap. Should be at least 75 000

  • FearlessHunterFearlessHunter Member Posts: 360

Yeah, it should only be the last entries that should be on the difficult challenges.

I would just not have done it, give out extra bloodpoints for a while instead, and focus on more important development tasks tbh. If I was in their shoes.

It also sucks how they ruined the Halloween event because they tied it to the battlepass :(

No i meant on the Rift.

There's a lot of empty spaces there.

Give better rewards, want me to do a basement party? Give me at least 200k BP

  • FearlessHunterFearlessHunter Member Posts: 360

Ahhh yeah that annoys me when it goes you levelled up go to the rift to claim your rewards and it's nothing XD

  • WeckWeck Member Posts: 3,352

    The rift or the tome?

Because for the rift, I would change it to fragment every 400 exp instead of 800.

Tome, I would change some of the challenges. Like the egc ones. It's just very unreliable.

It promotes toxic behaviour too. Changed the title as it was a bit confusing XD

Allow for us to select multiple challenges at the same time.

It would be nice to do Killer/Survivor challenges while also doing challenges like Iridescent Age or BP challenges.

There are also some overlaps withh the current level, hooking and killing your Obsession.

What I mean is say I have a challenge that requires me to unhook two people but I also have a challenge that I could select that requires me to escape as Claudette. Well why can't I do both? Both the challenges are more than do-able in one match. There have bene plenty of times where I could have done both a generator and unhooking challenge at the same time but since I'm only able to select one I have to go back and do the unhooking challenge all over again but who's to say I might not be so lucky next time? What if I die on first hook? What if my team mates get there before I do. It would just be less tedious if we could select two survivor challenges at the same time.

Also what do you think to the tome 3 challenges? Personally I think they are causing problems/toxic behaviour in the game.

I liked the challenges that had you use different perks, they didn't seem too bad and it helped mix up people's playstyle.

For survivors (and mostly killer) challenges it was great. Running perks that pretty much get no love was great to see. The only one that isn't good is the monstrous shrine one for killers as they camp the basement a lot XD

  • BossBoss Member, Trusted Posts: 11,154

    *looks at the challenge*

Use Monstrous Shrine? Oh, you mean equip 3 Perks and 1 nothing?

    🤭

    And yes, that was bad.

  • FearlessHunterFearlessHunter Member Posts: 360

Haha, I think no killer ever likes touching that perk unless your a basement loving Leatherface XD

How about when you’re done with the rift (e.g. past tier 70) you should be given x amount of blood points for tiering up? They do it in rocket league (by giving out painted items), so why not more blood points instead of just sitting at 70? It gives more incentive to keep playing the game.
