Why is Borrowed Time intentionally badly designed?

Borrowed is not an overpowered perk. All it does is prevent camping killers, so why can't the perk be distance based instead of TR based. The perk won't work against a cloaked Wraith, NS Ghostface, Insidious whatever, Freddy, Dark Devotion users, Dead Rabbit T2 myers and more. And on the other hand, killers with a big terror radius get punished by existing. Just make the perk activate the killer is in a 32 meter proximity to the hook, and make it so mending is also distance based and not TR

Agreed. BT is one of the only things you can use to save someone from a camping killer and you should be able to use it consistently against killers.
I don't see the problem with the odd killers power having the ability to bypass a certain perk any more than OoO not affecting certain stealth killers.
While it is good against campers or tunneling, people often use it and abuse it to simply save a teammate when they otherwise would never have done so if they didn't have BT. Often as the killer is simply walking away or in another chase with someone else.
Owo completely destroyed those killer's powers. Borrowed is an anti camping perk, and when people "abuse" it like you said, you are the one being benefited. Just hit the person you unhooked (you avoid ds and prevent the person to heal or work on a gen for the next 16 seconds) and go after the farmer
Borrowed time is fine how it is. Survivors already use it as a get out of jail free card regardless of what the killer is doing. You might as well buff decisive strike and dead hard 😂

Only a minority uses BT for anti camp. They use it to unhook in my face and then I have to slap a guy with BT and chase a healthy survivor. That is not a benefit for a Wraith, that's how the Wraith gets punished bc a great perk gets an unnecessary buff.
I actually main stealth killers (Wraith, pig, Ghostface, etc.) And I agree with this, I wouldn't be too perturbed by that change at all

BT is literally one of the top 3 best perks in the game and if anything it needs nerfs. It rewards bad plays and is unhealthy for the game. It is so highly abused.

Iuno, it's too easy to abuse in end game scenarios. I think it needs a cooldown, or it needs to apply exhaustion. Especially if they base it on distance alone.
It would be fair as is if all the pallets in the game were as safe as the badham rework pallets, but they aren't and won't be for a while.
BT is a meta perk already. Why don't we buff DS, DH and AD in the same update?
It is a badly designed perk. Because it allows for Survivors to make bad plays without getting punished for it. At least its not as bad as it was when it originally came out and gave the effect to both survivors involved in the unhooked action. Dark days those.
I wholeheartedly agree. It makes no sense that the Non-camping killers get screwed over because they may be running something that makes terror radius bigger (map-wide)and the person getting unhooked gets endurance while the killer isn’t even nearby.
In other words remove all form of counterplay from the perk including its "downside " meanwhile all killer perks must have a massive hole in its power and certainly cant be allowed to synergize..clearly a lot of thought being put on I see

BT does NOT need another buff as its already the second best perk. ☺️
People saying BT is one of the best perks, ok boomer, like only the last comment gave ant sort of useful information, and its not like he only gave one side he also mentioned how it hurts killers with larger radius' but yeah i think unless they can make it so certain stealth killers can somehow activate BT specifically by doing some bull**** like camping idk, i mean the easiest fix is when a killer is within like 8 meters (something small) BT will actuvate regardless of anything, but i can see how BT is considered "meta" despite being a meme
Oh is THAT what that is? That's why so many people are unhooking the second I turn around? I never understood why people wouldn't at least wait til I was on the other side of the map before they made the save. It's all starting to make sense now.
It’s a free farm perk. Saying that it is used for anti camping is just [BAD WORD]. We all know why are it’s soo overused and it has nothing to do with the incredibly rare campers...Can’t wait for it to get “normalized” too. They made this pert broken when they added the deep wound to it, and clearly overpowered when they broke the mechanic while trying to balance legion.
Balance wise, there is almost always a cost for no TR.
-Ghost face can be revealed and has cooldown
-wraith has to uncloak (bait it for TR)
- piggy is slowed while croutching
-insidious you have stand still and use 1/4 of your perks
- using a particular add-on or perk instead of something else.
The exception would be Freddy, dream world has no cost and should have TR.

The way people abuse BT is not as an anti-camping perk, but isn't a free unhook where they don't get punish for it.
BT is already a meta perk, and its also promotes bad plays as most survivors use BT to just get a free unhook, where they know a killer can't do crap against it even though they aren't camping.
I have been saying the same thing for a while now. BT is one of the few tools survivors have to prevent camping.
It should be distance based.
I would be fine with a 24 meter range. I would also be fine with a 90 second cooldown on Borrowed Time. Both would be reasonable changes.
Something else I want to say to the people complaining about Borrowed Time.
Think of it from a solo survivor's perspective. We are constantly being camped and tunneled by killers. It sucks when you try to rescue a survivor safely, but all of a sudden Mr. Ghost Face pops around the corner and downs the guy who just got rescued.
Point is killers are very big on trying to snowball off rescues. Survivors need something to mitigate this.
Because Legion. They [BAD WORD] the Deep Wound status hardcore when they nerfed Legion. It was already bad enough as it was with it being chase based. TR based is EVEN HARDER to down people with. Actually, scratch that, it's next to impossible to down people with.

I would argue for Borrowed Time to be distance based for two reasons. The first is consistency. The effect should be a consistent one. The second is a killer with a larger Terror Radius is put at a disadvantage compared to those with a smaller one. I propose a 24 meter minimum distance to keep it from triggering. With the trade off of Borrowed time no longer triggers during egc.
Likely because I know at least one person on the DBD subreddit who would call borrowed time "OP" if it was distance based. Then again, that same guy calls everything survivor related OP and demands all survivor perks (such as DS, which is ok as is) to be nerfed to uselessness. Not naming names, they know who they are.
