Oni Blood Orbs and Skill Checks

Why do survivors see blood orbs - do they need to see them?

I noticed that if I am bleeding against an oni doing a gen (or healing) have a skill check pop up and orbs spawn about the same time, they cause a huge distraction to me to the point of momentarily obscuring the skill check. If the skill check is something like ruin or sloppy butcher, it is even worse with red on red - there's a moment I cannot even see the skill check as it blends in with the moving red orbs.

It's an addon and keeps it's effect in check. If you couldn't see them then you would have no counterplay to having your aura constantly revealed.

Much like scratch marks - I know blood orbs are being generated anyway, I don't need to see them to counterplay, but that is secondary point. I am more concerned about blood orbs popping up all around me when a skill check pops - I prefer to clearly see the skill check more than the orbs.

Edit: Guess I should mention I play PC at a higher resolution so my skill checks are a bit smaller. I hate to have to lower visual quality just counter this.

I think he doesn't mean them being visible all the time. Also without the addon you see when blood orbs are produced for a second.

But I think this is just by chance, I have not noticed that as being always the case. Spawning blood orbs should not be linked to skillchecks
