Most commenting on this are going to do anything to discredit you or the Survivors in game.

Red ranks are flawed with boosted lowskillers. It's a shame to struggle with ruin-skillchecks when u are a red rank survivor.

You are playing on consol LUL and one match of dominating survivors doesnt say that EVERY match is gonna be like that. I have days where I only find bad survivors that I kill before they can even finish 1 gen wihtout ruin.
But some days the sweaty swf are online and I cant even play A tier killers without getting genrushed and teabagged at the exit gate. It depends on the survivor you get and sadly the majority of survivors are not that great at their job. No offence to anyone but it is the truth.
Thats what ranks are for. When u play like a headless chicken, u should face killers, that play like headless chicken too.
Devs screwed their own ranking system and this is the outcome. U want to punish the killer for braindead survivors?
Contains 3 post game screenshots of different teams one of which brought 3 toolboxes and brand new part (4 man SWF - confirmed via friendly messages). And console doesn't make a difference. PC players are no different. I watch Tru3's streams every once in a while so don't pretend it's a console thing. It's more like a "game is quite simply easy as killer" thing.

Devs made sure to change the rank reset system to flow low rank survivors into high ranks. All that so people say "see? You didn't need ruin after all!"

What you dont show is the black pip you received for killing them too quickly.
My channel is flooded with games just like these some of which ended in 1 minute or even less than 1 minute but okay.
Apparently tons of games uploaded throughout the year are all meaningless and killer is stressful and difficult at all times.
Anyways this thread expresses my opinion. That's what a forum is for. I feel like killer gameplay is a total joke these days. If you and most killers on this forums think otherwise that's totally fine.

Yes, that's correct.
It depends entirely on the killer you're playing. Some killers really needed Ruin, while others are over performing and far too easy to get a 4k on. Freddy is an easy example of this.
So if I post a vid of me stomping an inexperienced killer in under six minutes, will that mean what the forums are backing is true, and Ruin is required? I mean, that's what you're doing here, right?
Imagine you see here a killer main with 3k hours that dont use ruin but still thinks the Ruin change is awfull and dumb.
I think he wants to show us how strong leatherface is, maybe he has some potential and is top tier killer???
You also acknowledge that the video you used for your prime example (I say its your prime example because its the one you showed to the thread as your example) was against a super altruistic team (and a dim one at that, as they ignored the free basement unhook to try and save the second hook).
threads like these dont prove anything. I could give a sampling of games where I was gen rushed to hell and create a thread doing the same thing, but in opposite.
Okay just wanted to ask because I recognize one of the names in the screenshots and I can confirm they are indeed a strong SWF team. Though the fact there was a DC kind of muddles your point just because there are a lot of survivors that insta-DC in certain instances.
That said, I agree with you that majority of games are pretty easy for killer even at red ranks. Most games are actually in your favor. Some games are not. Other games you will get really strong survivors or SWF groups and those will be a challenge, but the thing is Ruin wouldn't make a difference. In fact in my experience, Ruin is more of a hindrance simply because it either gets destroyed within 30 seconds or (when it comes to those good survivors/SWF) makes literally zero difference in gen speeds. I've had Ruin only to have 2-3 gens still pop my first chase like it wasn't even there. And I've been on the giving end of that, in fact tonight my 4 man SWF made at least 2 killers quit by doing 3 gens through Ruin in the first 2 minutes of the game.
Fact is against the best survivors or strong SWF groups, Ruin does nothing to help. It helps a lot against survivors where you could have likely won anyway without Ruin. I've been playing most killers without Ruin for months now and I feel like it's made me a better killer. I can contend with those top players better and I found better tactics.
Ruin is highly overrated by killer mains as the only option. It's not the only option, and it's actually a weak option on top of that. Pop is much MUCH more effective at controlling gen speeds.
Yes and no. The forums are usually flooded with people acting like every other game ended in 5 minute because "gen rush" so I wanted to remind people that games end just as quickly in killer's favour and pretty often at that making it seem fairly easy to play killer as opposed to how people talk about killer gameplay most of the time.
The vast majority seems to say killer gameplay is just stressful and difficult all the time when most games are VERY chill these days. When I started playing killer survivors had pallet vacuums, exhaustion regression while sprinting, more pallets and more windows in general etc. so after all these changes killer gameplay seems fairly easy which is going to change now with the Ruin change.
I'm looking forward to the change as it will be an actual challenge to get a 4k and not just the "typical outcome of a killer game".

Again: The clip contains multiple red rank matches in a row and my channel is flooded with matches just like these. Kept posting 1-2 minute 4ks over the course of 2019. Only VERY FEW matches are actually difficult and due to the new rank reset it's even easier to dominate at red ranks.
I appreciate this greatly. I remember starting as killer in mid 2017, and all the bs that was available back then. I can’t even imagine some of the stuff that was there before that.
I feel a lot of people try and push some narrative, like gen rushing or camping, but really doesn’t happen often. Most people are just playing for fun and are pretty chill. Bad games happen, but they’re the minority, at least in my experience.
I believe the guy that DC'd was on death hook as they dc'd after getting downed towards mid game. As for Ruin helping mostly against survivors that would have lost anyways: I TOTALLY AGREE. In fact that's what I said numerous times myself. You just notice it too often that people who run around like headless chickens because of Ruin are the same people that go down in seconds.
So, because you chain-instadown people with infectious fright, red ranks are too easy for killers and ruin is better off nerfed? I can't really buy that this goes for all red rank killers' experience.
Same haha I remember when I started off as Huntress back in 2017 without Ruin. Some matches just felt hopeless with multiple sprint bursts or dead hards in one chase, all the safe pallets and windows, the old brand new part etc.
DBD certainly has come a looong way and is actually quite enjoyable at this moment compared to how things were.

Yes. Here is an example of what effect Ruin has on a good survivor...
The clip is 1:20 long, or exactly 80 seconds. I missed 1 skill check because I scratch my nose LOL no lie. Yui only came onto the gen to help the last 15 seconds, but she really only helped for 10 seconds because she kept stopping to teabag (IDK why). Without her, at most, this gen would have taken me an extra 5 seconds to do. That's only about a second more than a single stack of Thana.
We ended up losing that game only because the killer (Oni) managed to slug 2 of us at one point and then got them both in the basement, which was really hard to recover. But Ruin did literally nothing to help him, we still did 4 gens (3 before we took down his Ruin). It didn't slow us down much if at all. What slowed us down was having to take major risks to save 2 from his basement. We also kind of 3 gen'd ourselves because of the basement stuff, but the last gen was very close to being done with 2 alive.
This is normal at red ranks on Xbox for those of us that can do skill checks. And I'm not even the best survivor on Xbox. There are plenty of survivors way better than me.
