How is it bad? The Exhaustion time is so fast and it resets upon hook.. It should have a longer exhaustion time equal to deliverance to make it balance..
Ds and dh are op but adrenaline? Its very situational can be countered by noed idk why killers think it's op plz explain.
You can easily time your lunge to completely outplay DH.
How often do you see an Engineer's with socket swivels, plus Prove Thyself in a game? I've played about 10ish games and have only seen Commodious'. 3 gens in under a minute is possible, but only if the Killer is AFK and has zero tracking or gen perks. Like, Discordance? Corrupt? Hell, even Ruin and Surveillance.
The OP is implying that every game he has gotten has had this in it. Either he is extremely unlucky, or he is exaggerating. I think it is likely that he chased a Survivor into a god loop (pls remove) and wasted a minute and a half chasing him. Then, by the time you down and hook him, you've lost three gens.
My numbers were off in the original post. It is certainly possible to lose 3 gens, assuming the Survivors are perfect and bring the best equipement and you apply pressure on one Survivor.
@DragonOfPain because you like to tunnel they should nerf ds its 60 seconds after being unhooked its soooooooo easy to avoid ds slug and chase the saviour, come back after its gone.
What does that have to do with gen speed? How will nerfing ds help killers patrol gens?
The reason why exhaustion resets on hook is because of 2 stupid things.
1. The Exhaustion Nerf
2. Exhaustion Add-ons.
Also take a chill pill.
Have you read my post? I was referring to M1 Killers and not the likes to Freddy, Nurse, Billy or Spirit who has enough mobility from going 1 gen to another. In fact when I'm playing these 4, I really don't need Ruin to work my way through.. However do it with M1 Killers who have no mobility or gen pressure skills, especially on big maps.. You'll be surprised that 2-3 Gens gets pop up even before you find your first survivor, That's how frustrating playing M1 Killer is on the Red Ranks..
That is if you can even find the survivor after slugging him.. Because right now even the sound is messed up... You can hear a downed survivor on the right side of your headset when in fact the survivor is actually on the left side.. They should fix that first before you can say slugging is not a problem.. And yeah i'm using a good headset which cost $120.. So it has nothing to do with my headset but with the sound of the game itself.
Besides that, why would any M1 Killer run Corrupt Intervention in the first place? It only last 2 minutes.. On Big ass maps like rotten fields and Mothers dwelling, it takes at least 40 seconds before you reach the other end of the gen.. That alone cost you 40 seconds of Corrupt Intervention.. Besides that Corrupt Intervention is useless after 2 minutes.. Better run a slugger build than using Corrupt..
I'm not saying that.. But what I'm saying is, Since the ruin is nerfed, M1 Killers can neither even get a kill on Big Ass Map.. How about playing m1 killers on red ranks and let's see how do you do.. At least I can still get 2 Kills on Big ass maps at least.. Let's see you try though..
I'm not sure where people get these stories from. Is there some elite rank ladder that I'm not aware of?
I stopped using Ruin and other slowdown perks months ago. I'm not just going to say "giT gUd" but these thing happening frequently should make you reflect on your own gameplay rather than the loss of an already useless perk.
DS could be tweaked, Adrenaline too maybe...but what does this have to do with map pressure?
I think I see toolboxes almost every game right now. Half my lobbies last night had 3+ toolboxes, and they were solo Q's, not even SWF.
Everyone on the red ranks knows OG Ruin is useless, however to m1 killers who doesn't have mobility at all.. Ruin can stall the game for a few minutes before its gone(Since it is a gamble perk).. Also, Its not how i should reflect on my own gameplay.. I've been consistently on the red ranks since 2016, but because of ruin nerf, M1 Killers are having problems now especially on Big ass Maps, As i mentioned again and again.. Back then it was not a problem since you only got 3 killers and only a few set of maps except those cornfield which was really big from the very beginning, now you have like 18 killers with their own set of maps and majority of them are Big Ass Maps.. So these thing has nothing to do with even how i reflect my gameplay but the chances of m1 killer getting at least 1 kill on Big Ass Map without ruin.. You get my point?
I post this topic with no correlation to gen speed and map pressure, but to balance the perk. Because even if I point out the obvious reason to the devs, they wouldn't understand it because they are not even red rank killers or survivors.. they're nothing but potato survivors and killers(Check out Cote how they laugh at him during an event in Korea) themselves.. So why would I issue the obvious reason? Because by the end of the day, these devs doesn't give one cent of a Killer's Opinion..
And Yeah, I'm a balanced player.. I play both sides, But I'm making this topic in my Killer's perspective and not of my Survivor perspective.
It wasn't useless. Even the best of players missed skill checks, and one of my favorite hag builds was agitation + ruin so you could drag someone over to the ruin and hook them next to it, being able to defend both at the same time.
It was mainly there to stall the game for a minute or two, similar to corrupt intervention, but it could last alot longer.
I also think it was a much better answer to toolboxes than corrupt intervention. Toolboxes are running rampant right now.
@Peanits said part of the reason was to try to see how bad or not gens were. Hopefully they already have something in mind, and only changed Ruin so the could fine tune it.
I've already touched on the gen speeds in another post. But 2 survivors with no tool boxes or perks can do a gen in 66 seconds. However, 4 survivors with toolboxes and perks you can have a gen done in 10 seconds. And since we're talking about red ranks its gonna be more likely that you go against an optimal SWFG. So 20 seconds for 2 gens is not unheard of. It takes 35-40 seconds with a base movement killer to cross a large map. Meaning survivors can very realistically have 2 gens done before you even reach them, and then a 3rd done during or right after your first chase. It happened to me twice yesterday in both of my doctor games, who I love btw. Didn't think I'd like the new changes but I do.
Anyways back to my matches. On almost all of my games they got 2-3 gens done in the first minute- minute and a half. However no one escaped those matches. As killers you're gonna have to start adopting a mid game build more than an early one. I ran Overcharge, Bloody butcher, choloraphobia, and overwhelming presence to increase my terror radius. Once those gens were done and I stared finding people and injuring them, they didn't really have an answer for it, it slowed the game down soooo much. I've stopped running hex perks almost altogether. Except occasionally devour hope or huntresses lullaby. But so many survivors expect noed now that they spend a lot of time destroying totems. I noticed not a single totem stood be endgame. So I stared running builds without them. Pop and overcharge, discordance and corrupt intervention. Stuff like that to slow the game down and help me find survivors. Do things still need to be tweaked? Yeah. But it's adaptable right now.
"I still get 2k on big maps and 4k on small".
So what's the problem? 2k/2e is balanced. You're doing fine.
I play Legion at Rank 1 on console....trust me, I know the struggles of an M1 Killer.
What a travesty that you are getting at least a balanced outcome even on big maps. Devs must fix this ASAP so you can go back to 3-4K every game. Thats balance apparently.
I frequently get 3 gens popping by first hook. I camp the [BAD WORD] out of the first survivor and just hit them over and over and over to bait their team to come in for a team save. 50 seconds later their teammates have finished that 5th gen and come as a team for the save. Since I run NOED I can get 1-3 deaths from this strategy but it’s a different game now. It’s not a lot of points and it’s not fun. The funnest part of the game now is end game chat.
from time to time I’ll bring no stalk PWYF Myers out. Some survivors understand that I’m playing for jump scares. Most just play skillcheck simulator.
I play a lot of Pig and Ghostface without Ruin. How come I get consistent 3-4ks in red ranks on maps like the Red Forest maps?
I do think you need to switch up your strategies. Open your mind.
Because survivor ranks are boosted sky high right now, and you can have rank 1 survivors who never look behind them in a chase and just hold W from safe pallet to safe pallet and it will work on alot of the maps because there are so many of them.
Although there is none... Except adrenaline since you need the gena done. I think OP is saying if we wanna talk percentage of use, then lets use thar same logic on DH DS BT and Adrenaline. Not that "because we lost gen time help lets have these perks hit too" just my two cents.
Then why doesn't OP get 4ks if ranks are boosted?
Because there's also god tier players among the survivors. It all depends what the matchmaking gives you. You can get total potato rank 1 survivors, or 4000+ hour players who have every loop memorized.
So why is OP getting ONLY gods while I'm getting a mix of both?
If that's the case, then OP's post is pointless, because they're just getting unlucky. It's not the game at that point, it's their luck.
Probably because you don't actually have to have multiple gods in your game to get wrecked by one. Just finding them first, early, and not knowing when to drop a chase, can be enough to ruin your game. Even the most potato of red ranks knows to rush the gens. So while you are getting 1v1'd by a god, the potato's can crank out the gens.
It is your fault for chasing them, sure.
