Pallet dropping when I'm in the center of it - Bug or "feature"?

Sometimes as a killer I enter the space of where pallet would drop and I'm in the center and then even though I'm standing there the pallet still gets dropped by the survivor and I get teleported a step back.
This is extremely annoying, is that supposed to happen?

Yes that's intended. Would you rather get stuck in the pallet?
I would rather not have twisted physics teleport me a few meters away and that the survivor won't be able to drop a pallet while standing in the center.
Well then killers wouldn't have to worry about pallets at all. Survivors would just start dropping them early against every killer, no one would try to go for stuns. The whole point of the pallet stun is you drop the pallet on the killers head
If someone drops a large, heavy object on you, you'll get moved around. Pallets push you to the side that you're closer to - usually away from the survivor, since they'll drop it before you can get through it.
Instead of appreciating the struggle of paying customers who play as killer, you decide to respond with sass. The future of this game is not promising.
