It's been a while now. What is the golden crow ?

Bug or intend ? If intend what's it mean ?

Do you mean when the crows fly up into the skybox? It's just them disappearing or reappearing. I guess they gave them the gold glow to draw your eyes to them. Some killers use crows to tell if a survivor is there/has been there.

Kinda just a visual cue to make using crows for detection more viable. They are/were a fairly pointless mechanic with how dark many of the maps are. Essentially most Survivors didn't really care if they disturb them because the Killers wouldn't pay much attention to them or just flat out couldn't see them so now they can actually be used more reliably for tracking.

Why do you think they're pointless though? lmao Just because you keep running into potato killers who refuse to take advantage of it doesn't mean it's a pointless mechanic. It quite literally is free information.

I don't see any golden crows anymore. The last time I saw one was during 4th anniversary. I always thought it was meant to be a 4th anniversary thing.

I think crows that are part of set pieces, like the boat from Blackwater Swamp turn gold as they disintegrate into the air.

That's why I used the qualifier "fairly." The tutorial makes it a point to teach Survivors to avoid crows and yet so often killers don't utilize the information and Survivors don't care to avoid them. Both sides ignoring a mechanic renders said mechanic fairly pointless imo. Adding the golden shine to crows flying up brings them back to relevance since it's more noticeable to killers for the "free information" and since Survivors see the glow too they will try to avoid them a bit more often.

I'd never had an issue seeing crows before the change. Their model looked bigger even from afar, which made them quite noticeable by simply not having tunnel vision for anything below wall height. They were already very visible as it was.

I don't see a point in this buff other than seeking a solution for a problem that wasn't there. Tracking is a skill and often it requires simply paying a bit of attention. There's no reason to make crows glow like Christmas trees. What's the next step? Basekit bloodhound?

For every killer I use, one perk I use is "Spies...." so yes, crows are always useful to me.. only one thing i wished was basekit for any killer was calming spirit so crows wouldn't be disrupted by the killer's presence 🤷‍♂️

But that's not really the topic I suppose

It was a survivor nerf that no one spoke about.

They made crows glow gold as they fly, being able to spot them from a much greater distance.

I just play and pay attention at it. The answer is It's crow disappearing not a golden crow. Thank you for all answering.
