Cause I do not remember the range being set down from 16 meters to 8 meters.
EDIT: And the duration from 6 to 3 seconds as well.

There was a bunch of stuff being changed I think and niothing in the patch notes. gamepedia lists some differences, I think there are still the PTB addons shown, which also shows that the alchemist ring had a token replenish on top

Are you sure that PTB only had 3 second aura reading?
The text of this perk was changed, but the effect in game is as before. Not everything could be implemented in the last patch due to time constraints.
