Textures issue on Steam version (PC)

When I load in to any trial my textures look as if they are low resolution at all graphics settings. Pallets in particular stand out the most as they flicker and have jagged edges. The only way I can resolve this issue is changing the graphics options within a trial itself from Low to Medium then back to Low, please see the screenshots below for a comparison.
Low textures:
Normal textures:
My system specs are as follows:
Processor: Intel Core i7 4790 @3.60Ghz (4th gen)
RAM: 16GB DDR3 @1600Mhz
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB
Storage: SanDisk X400 512GB M.2 SSD
All settings are default in the Nvidia Control panel.
Does anyone else have this issue?
Please can I have some help to resolve this issue permanently?

Try adding -NOTEXTURESTREAMING to the launch options.
This did not work, i've also tried reinstalling the game and a clean install of my graphics drivers.
That's pretty much all I had tbh because it looked like texture streaming might not be working.
When you clean installed, did you use display driver uninstaller?
I used display driver uninstaller and the issue persists. It's a strange one because if I adjust my settings in a trial the issue goes away but it's annoying having to do this every time though. Hoping for a permanent fix.
Yeah, that is an odd one. If you turn your settings up and then just leave it, does THAT fix it?
I'm wondering if maybe it's a bug with low.
@KhaineGB I have tried that but it does not resolve the issue, I have to switch graphics back and forth within a trial to fix it. i.e. Medium to low then back to Medium. I don't have this problem on other games, I have tried a different DP cable and even used HDMI still the issue persists. I also installed an earlier graphics driver and no luck.
@KhaineGB any more ideas please? I have done a clean install of Windows 10 and I still have the issue. Do you think I need to contact customer support?
You could try and setting the "TextureQuality" in the GameUserSettings to 3. This will run the textures on the "ultra" preset, but everything else at low. I don't think this will fix the issue, but i think its worth a try
^ you could try that but i'm personally not allowed to recommend editing the ini files.
I would contact support. If a clean windows install doesn't fix it, then I'm PRETTY sure there's a bug with the GPU VRAM system they need to look into.https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
This did not resolve the problem. All of my textures are jagged and flicker when I load in to a trial and they only way to stop it is to toggle my graphics settings through the options menu.
Well this is probably a stupid question, but do you have the "Auto resolution adjust" thing (can't remember that it is 100% called ingame) on? If so, you should turn it off and set your resolution to 100%
You could also try adding -DX12 to startup/launch parameters in steam.
Also, try and disable any overclocks, if you have any, specialfly any vram overclocks
Try enabling and disabling anti aliasing (not officially supported)
And also, try disabling any filters you have applied such as Geforce Experience ingame filters
Hi @dbdgamer123 thanks for the advice it's much appreciated.
Auto resolution has always been disabled and DX12 in the launch options didn't resolve the problem. I haven't overclocked my GPU so I can rule that out.
I have disabled AA and this resolved the flickering issue on pallets but now I have flickering black dots, especially on shadows. Is this normal with AA disabled?
Can you try and send a screenshot of it? It sounds kinda weird. Almost like your GPU isn't working correctly.
If the same thing happens in other games, try underclocking your vram
It doesn't happen on other games I've tested, GTA V and Resident Evil 3 remake. I reseated my graphics card and RAM but this didn't make a difference. I will record a video clip later.
Well. If it doesnt happen with other games, it has to be something with the game itself.
You can still try and send the video, im still interested in what it looks like now
And you should also contact support if you haven't already, so the devs can fix it in the future, since it sounds like a game bug, and not a hardware problem
yeah this is happening in my game too dude :/ gens look the worst in my opinion. This is a problem with the game itself, I've tried everything graphically possible, editing values outside and inside of the game through the game-user-settings, even with nvidia profile inspector it didn't work.
I feel as if the game cant differentiate between ultra and low or medium graphics settings right now, and its been like this for about a patch or two before the twins
You guys should probably contact support if its a issue some people have. The more people that report the issue and can give information about it, the easier it is for the devs to find and fix
^ I would agree with this. They will probably want log files to see if they can work out what's going on.
I've contacted support and they said they will pass it on to the QA team.
Hi @kylerabdcgamer10 do pallets look like they are flicking and vibrating? That's the only way I can explain it. I can fix the problem by toggling the graphics options within a match.
@KhaineGB @dbdgamer123 I wanted to rule out that my graphics card was at fault so I dusted off my old gaming laptop (Nvidia GTX 860M graphics card) and installed DBD on it. I loaded up a match and to my surprise I have the same issue. Again, the only way to solve it is to toggle the graphics options within a match. I noticed this issue ever since the release of 4.5.0 (new animations and HUD). I really hope this issue is resolved soon as it's inconvenient to have to toggle the graphics options every time I load in to a match.
That sounds very weird the error also happens to your laptop. I have no problems at all, and i have not heard of anybody else than you guys having the issue. I think you just have to wait for the devs to patch it. Meanwhile, you can continue to switch to medium and back to low while you're starting the match (where the camera goes around the survivor/killer). That way, you're sure you don't loose some seconds of walking in the beginning (we all know every second counts in DBD)
Yeah, the game has been fine for me as well so i'm very confused how it's happening on 2 seperate machines in a single household.
I think i'd contact support with screenshots and log files from both systems.
I have contacted support and asked them if the log files will help diagnose the problem. Meanwhile, my friend has the same problem with a 1660 Super graphics card.
@KhaineGB support told me that other players are experiencing a similar issue to mine so it seems i'm not alone with this.
Aha, okay, that's good at least.
I suspect they just have the VRAM budgeting wrong in the code, so probably not something we can fix and have to wait for the team to adjust.
@KhaineGB @MandyTalk it seems this issue has been resolved in the PTB, I hope the fix makes it to live.
