I see this coming up very often. A lot of posters have been accused of being "survivor mains pretending to be killer mains".
This is ridiculous. The first issue with it is silly enough on its own; it's this paranoid distrust towards anyone who disagrees with you about the current hot issues ("crutch perks", trash/OP killers and so on). Come on. Be a little more charitable. More often than not, it's baseless to assume that someone is making a profile only to pretend to be "on the other side". Address their points only. Even if you're right about them being fake (which is rarely the case I think), you can't prove it. It only makes you look stupid and petty when you jump to claims that cannot be proven, only because your opinion differs from that of the other.

Second, this kind of accusation only betrays how lowly the accuser's mindset is. If you accuse someone of pretending to be "killer main" or whatever, it shows how unable you are to even imagine that someone is unbiased and thus it makes YOU look like someone who can't distance himself from his own self interests. When in fact, a lot of players play both sides and they have experiences, which, while they may not be the same as those of others', they're still valid experiences.

Which leads me to the third thing: "MAINS"? I simply don't get it. This game offers much more if you play both sides. The people whose opinions are worth the least are killer "mains" and survivor "mains". You won't be a very good player in either role if you don't play the other sometimes, plus this makes you more biased than anything. Also, sometimes it really sounds like it's some kind of identity, which is madness. "I AM a ... main", give me a break. You're just a guy who plays one half of a certain video game.

    Not sure, actually. I guess I have an aversion towards people's mdistrust towards each other in general. Nevermind the tons of salt that's thrown around here, I still have the impression that most people are generally good willed.

    that being said, ive seen dozens, literally dozens, of survivormains come claim to be killer mains while advocating for killer nerfs, only to check their steam profile and see zero total players sacrificed.

    May be my naivety, but I just can't wrap my head around this. Why on earth would someone try to cripple the "other" side? What's this with so many people wanting ezpz games?
    If I want it easy, I play Plants Vs Zombies or something. No salt there for sure.

    Alot of the time people don't try to see things from both sides I used to be guilty of that too but not anymore. I now find that someone's main is irrelevant because anyone can say anything on the matter. For example I could say I'm a survivor main and want x perk nerfed because I find it unfair. And then on another thread say I'm a killer main and again complain about a killer perk.. so yeah I agree with you on this.

    The whole "mains" situation is simply put down to us vs them. The way patches are built around one side more than another, toxic behaviour on both sides and everyone thinking that their suggestion is the golden answer to balancing this game just fills this toxic behaviour in the community and how we act towards each other. Whether the devs mean to or not, they are partly to blame for the toxic behaviour and the feeling that its us vs them. Killers feel they are being forgotten about so in turn hate Survivors, and Survivors feel that Killers are getting to much OP changes, again, resulting in hatred towards Killers. Although I do hate how split this community is, in reality you cannot really blame a majority for how they feel.

    Its so ridiculous i have been accused of being a whiny camping Killer main that wants survivor perks to be buffed for easy escapes... on the same post, by the same person.

    there are many survivor players who exclusively play survivor and mostly in SWF, sure there is some people who exclusively play killer but that is much rarer, oftentimes these players only play the game to bully the killer, and want the game mechanics to enable that.

    You serious? Some people are really like that? They must of forgotten that there can be people who don't main either side.. 'Asks for survivor perk buff' Survivor main! 'Asks for killer perk buff' Killer main! It's so dumb..

    People will rarely complain about something unless it's not beneficial to them. People who complain when their side get buffed or other side nerfed are rare I think.

    @Dwights_leftfoot I wonder if it would help if scratch marks were, say, white instead of red. I generally dislike the endless demands thrown at devs, but this would be very helpful. I'm sure you're not the only colorblind player. Plus, it doesn't look like a very difficult thing to do, though I don't know the first thing about programming, so not sure.

    Yea I always thought it would be a cool feature on the forums if you could link your hours played survivor/killer to the forums. That way if a survivor comes in with 50 hours survivor and 30 minutes killer, everyone knows he will be survivor biased.

    Still need to see a single survivor main with "ZERO" kills.
    Double points weekend always call them to the dark side... it always do...

    Hey i was watch Cote stream last night and asked again about color blind mode and he never answered.

    Why not make it a toggleable option.

    lol youre just one of dozens of salty sandras around here, whos opinions mean so little to me that i toss them in the forum trash bin after proving your bias. you were simply my example of survivor main pretending to be a killer main. you are embarrassed, i understand. no worries sandra :)

    A feature to turn on seems the most realistic option.

    Oh for the love of god, can you two either f**k and get it over with or just go duke it out in a pit of jelly because honestly that would be far more entertaining than watching you two ######### at each other in what so far has been a fairly interesting and civil thread.
