Current Tome (VII - Forsaken) Progress - How are you doing?

NVerdeNVerde Member Posts: 264

Just thought I'd see how people are finding the Tome so far, and what challenges they are struggling with, perhaps people can share some tips of how to complete them?

I've just got one challenge still to go on Tier I, which is the Dark Devotion one - hit 3 survivors while undetectable using Dark Devotion (can't remember the actual name of it) which I'm doing with The Plague as I haven't unlocked the teachable yet so don't have it on any other killers.

Finding this one quite annoying, as you have to hit the Obsession then hit survivors 3 times pretty soon after, and for some reason the couple of games I've attempted it in, the Obsession has been really elusive.

I found all the survivor challenges pretty easy so far, the only slightly annoying thing is encountering The Plague A LOT more often at the moment (because of people doing the challenges, including me I guess so it's a bit ironic to complain about it).

How's everyone else doing with it so far?

I haven’t had any trouble. Some of the challenges can be thought around.

Like the Dark Devotion one you mentioned can be done with Ghostface. When in his ability, the GF gains the undetectable status effect and can hit out of it. Scratch mirror could also do this.

If you do unlock her teachables, I would recommend this.

I just need to complete the Diverse Despair challenge (Hit a Survivor 6 times) and all is done.

I didn't have any issues with finishing the Dark Devotion challenge, probably because I did it with Scratched Mirror Myers on Lery's map, so the Obsession couldn't hide (other than lockers or they have some perk), I always know where the other Survivors are for an easy knife slap.

You can use other undetectable perks and powers as well with dark devotion and still get the challenge done. I used huntress with beast of prey, tinkerer, dark devotion and the PH perk (can't remember the name). As long as you have Dark devotion equipped and you hit someone when undetectable it counts.

I'm pretty good for my expectations

All challenges done, I'm at tier 18 or something like that

Tip for the challenge you are trying to do: as long as you hit people while you are undetectable you are good to go, so on top of Dark Devotion you can use other perks that give you undetectable like Tinkerer or Beast of Prey to make it easier to do

Got them all done within 3 days of the tome being out, and that was mostly because I didn't feel like playing survivor much at the time. Currently tier 27.

So far, the only one that was any challenge was the Dark Devotion one. It's best done playing a killer with basekit undetectable attacks (Ghostface, Myers) or bringing other undetectable perks like Trail of Torment or Tinkerer. Though I got it EZ mode - the first game I loaded after starting the challenge was against a TTV, and when I went to play the match, they were all just memeing at me (it was in The Game and everyone wanted to watch television, or stopped and pointed at me when I tried to chase them), so I popped into the stream, asked them what was going on, and then asked for them to neatly line up so I could bonk them all with Dark Devotion once it was plain we weren't actually playing a competitive match. :P

I'm loving running into all these Vommy Mommies, though as of the past few days they've dwindled back down to their usual reclusive status. But I know I'll see them again once the next level comes out.

I think I'm at like Tier 5 or 6 right now.

Have most of the killer challenges done and almost none of the survivor challenges. Not because I'm a killer main, but rather because survivor queues have been incredibly long recently (even with Crossplay on, I'm usually waiting for more than 5 minutes to find one lobby).

I cheesed the Dark Devotion challenge with Scratched Mirror Myers (he's always Undetectable). Probably the most fun I had doing any challenge in this level of the Tome so far.

The challenge that proved the hardest so far was the one for healing 6 health states on other players. Not because it's actually difficult, but because everyone and their mother is playing Plague right now for the Tome.

Got all the challenges done in the first 4-5 days, now I'm around Tier 20. The reduced grind from 800 to 500xp per shard is great.

Thanks for the tips on the challenge, I did think of using other characters who have Undetectable, but the problem is my Plague isn't high enough level to have unlocked Dark Devotion teachable yet, so I don't have it on any other characters. I think I'm Level 31 with her so if I play a couple more games as Plague, if I don't get it done hopefully I will be able to unlock that perk and then use Myers (I don't have Ghostface).

You should show to survs that you are not going to kill them. Today I finished this challenge from first try.

Question since i havn't played since the whole rift ... battlepass thing got added, how much insanely more do you have to play if you only do one side? Like my ~1000 hours worth so far i've played allmost exclusively killer, not looking forward to doing the solo survivor side but do you have to play like 8 hours a day if you only go for one side of it?

For the Dark Devotion challenge, I put on Tinkerer, Dark Devotion, and the perk where you kick a generator and then get the undetectable status effect until someone comes along. Wasn't too hard, but I kinda threw the game trying to get it.

I've completed all killer challenges, and most of the survivor challenges. Currently Tier 13, which is about the pace I was hoping for. Generally you want to get 7 tiers per week.

I’m at tier 0 because I’ve been playing RE Village and can’t stand the bugs and Freddy :D

I found this tome a lot more easy than the previous one. I'm at Tier 14 and that's without doing Plague's challenges because I have yet to own her. I'm not really grinding too hard either, I stopped playing for a couple days and still feel like I'm going decently fast.

  • Midori_21Midori_21 Member Posts: 708

I've got every challenge done, I'm at tier 21, and I haven't collected any of the master challenges, as well as 5 of the smaller challenges. If I collected them all I'd be at tier 26.

  • ohheyitsbobcatohheyitsbobcat Member Posts: 1,287

I'm at 14 or 15 with a few challenges still left. Haven't had any issues with any of the challenges yet besides some being a little grind-y. Trying to get 6 heals off when you see Plague a lot is a tad annoying.

For your Dark Devotion one, I used scratched mirror Myers. Trying to do it without using Ghostface/Myers just seems awful. :/

Best of luck you you though.

They've adjusted the grind on this one, so currently if you were to play 9 matches per day for 70 days, you would complete the rift without doing any challenges.

Doing the challenges in the archive will make this go faster.

In addition, you get that extra bonus for the first Survivor match per day, and the first Killer match per day, so if you count those it's probably closer to 7 matches played per day (assuming you do at least 1 match for both sides), and you if you complete all the challenges you will be much farther ahead of the game.

My goal was to gain 1 tier of the rift per day, but I'm on tier 18 thanks to the challenges (where I think we're only 10 days into it, so I'm roughly a week ahead of where I was attempting to be.)

I got done every challenge in the tome that is unlocked so far and am also rank 21 in the rift. Mark my words I will get all of the left for dead stuff on the rift even if I have to pull multiple all nighters to do it.

  • PulsarPulsar Member Posts: 13,420

I'd like to do Survivor challenges but queue's are 15 minutes.

  • Kate_Main_01Kate_Main_01 Member Posts: 504

I'm almost exclusively a Survivor player and did the first several rifts to 100 by playing for a few hours a couple of nights a week. There were definitely a few longer sessions in there on weekends and such. These were the rifts that were 7+ months ago and from what I understand they made the rift tiers even more obtainable while I was gone.

You should be able to max it out playing only Killer fairly easily and without having to dedicate your whole life to the game. 😊

I’m around tier 15, which I feel is good progress so far all things considered. At this point, I’ve completed all of the Survivor challenges, which are all that I really care about at the moment.

The Dark Devotion was super easy, did it as Doctor, first try and done.

Used Dark Devotion, Tinkerer and Trail of Torment. This way I had a lot of undetectable states. The challenges just wants you to hit someone while being undectable and having perk Dark Devotion equipped.

  • ShinobuSKShinobuSK Member Posts: 4,406

I somehow managed to get them all done this time

  • NVerdeNVerde Member Posts: 264

I've done it now - got the teachable perk unlocked on Plague and then used Myers for it. Kind of sucks that it's clearly designed for you to use Plague to do it but it's easier on another killer.

  • RoboMojoRoboMojo Member Posts: 1,322

I literally cannot do three of the challenges because I don't own Plague (Very cool, Behaviour) but otherwise, I've completed it. Hopefully, I can actually get the rift fully done for the first time.

  • kisfenkinkisfenkin Member Posts: 372

I had a game last week with a Bill wearing the entire outfit (even the level 70 chest). Is buying tiers a thing, because I can't see how they got that far otherwise?

  • CheesyGuyCheesyGuy Member Posts: 375

With Golden Shards if you open the Premium you can buy tiers per round. That is why you probably see someone like that.

  • NVerdeNVerde Member Posts: 264

This is deliberate surely? They want you to spend money to get the character

I've completed the last challenge a couple of days ago and busy myself hunting some achievements until level 2 opens. The only challenge I had an issue with was the unhook in terror radius with borrowed time, as that is just not my playstyle.

  • Aven_FallenAven_Fallen Member Posts: 12,235

I am around Tier 30. I guess I will have finished the Rift after Level 2 is released, pretty sure I will be finished before Level 3.

Dark Devotion Challenge-->Did it with Ghostface. I tried first with Wraith (and The Ghost-Add On), but it only hides and does not give Undetectable, so it did not work. Ghostface worked just fine.
