Stop saying killers are tunneling/camping you because of the Pride Charm.

Camping/tunneling is a strategy and has been done for a long time. Just because a charm is in the game doesn't mean you can blame killers for camping you because of the charm. People are using this as an excuse to attack killers for playing the game.
The only time you can say the killer tunneled you because of the charm is if the killer said something about it in the chat and criticized you. You cant start doing that, it's going to ruin the game for everyone
I have been wearing the charm and my games haven't changed, I get tunneled and I don't blame it on the charm. I say "Hmmm maybe the killer is playing the game and not doing it because of my charm"

Well sexual preferences didn't need to brought into the game. While I personally dont care how people identify as honestly everyone is the same in my eyes things like this is bound to happen. False accusations as well hate, just the way the world works.
Afterall it's just a game, just play it for what it is and have fun...
Have people really been doing that? Or is this a very small but vocal minority that are being given disproportionate attention?
Maybe it's just a server thing, on AU it's very easy to tell the homophobes because they outright attack you. Not that I've seen any since the charm was released, of either the accusations or the homophobes.
Edit: to clarify, I'm meaning the people tossing around false accusations of homophobia.
I just knew this charm would cause ridiculous amounts of drama. People on all sides of this just have to wait a hot minute until it gets boring and no one cares anymore. In DBD time, that should be about 4 days.
I have seen posts here about killers tunneling because of the charm, so I thought I would address it. Heres one, https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/253278/pride-charm-getting-camped#latest
I've seen more posts about false accusations than false accusations.
It's common. I'm straight and have been attacked by gay players because I'm using the charm etc. Apparently I dont have the right...
Nowadays it seems people always want a way to either play a victim or be seen as better... I dont get why everyone cant just get on and enjoy a game regardless of real life genders, sexuality, race etc. Main reason I didn't support the idea, not because I dont support those people as I do but the issues that come with it seem alot and unneeded. People want to be proud I get it, but you can be proud without making it all about that and that's what some players are now doing as well as those targeting those players. Both are few but it all adds up in the end.
Dude, I'm gay, and feel free to wear the charm. The rainbow isn't gay property and no one has the right to dictate how you dress your lil' character.
But don't mistake a small handful of Woke SJW's of being any kind of authority. It sucks for the rest of us, but there is an extremist, vocal minority around these issues. Usually, they have never experienced any real oppression their whole lives, yet they feel the need to police everyone else. I immigrated from Russia. It's not good to be gay there, and yet I'm far more chill than some of the little militant twats here in Canada who grew up with wealthy, supportive parents in a gloriously free country.
Wear whatever you want. I think it's great if you like to signal you're cool with human differences. Don't worry about people who live for the Oppression Olympics.
Oh trust me I'm well aware that there are always a bad bunch no matter the community and you cant judge others because of the select few, so dont worry about that lol. Sorry about your past btw but dont worry I'll rock what charms and cosmetics I see fit XD
No need to be sorry (but thanks), I'm living the dream over here lol . People should take a step back sometimes and just see the humour in things.
We're all dramatic over a teensy rainbow charm in an online game where my chain-smoking grandpa tries to survive a chainsaw wielding simpleton wearing the skin of someone's mother.
People are allowed to have complicated feelings about a form of discrimination they've been dealing with their whole lives. What I've mostly seen on the forums is people expressing concern that they'll be treated badly if they wear the pride flag in-game -- which, IMO, is reasonable, since this community's pretty homophobic despite all the LGBT players.
In-game, if someone treats you badly, it's hard to tell why. Which is also often the case in life -- you're left saying, "Did they do that because I'm part of a minority group, or did they do it for another reason?" and you can't ever actually know, and it's very uncomfortable.
I don't think it's fair to say "You have to believe it wasn't discriminatory unless you can absolutely prove it was" because the nature of the problem is that you usually can't prove it absolutely.
Honestly, the healthiest thing would be if we all wore the flag charm all month so no one was singled out, but I doubt that's going to happen.
Unless it's stated in chat, that's hard to prove. Camping is a choice and tunneling is just efficient. Personally my screen is not large enough to really see charms, mostly just roughly shaped dots on a Survivor.
Yes, tunneling, camping and slugging are not reportable on their own; an individual game of it isn't really enough to say for sure.
HOWEVER, if the player says in post game it was because of the charm, that is reportable. Or, if you queue up with them several times, and they repeatedly target you in the same fashion, that could be reportable.
Bannable offenses include griefing, hateful speech, repeated harassment, and more. If you are REPEATEDLY being harassed by a player over the course of several matches, that could potentially be punishable. These things have always been a part of the Game Rules, its not just about the charm. To review the Game Rules, you can see them here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
And one more thing: everyone is welcome to wear and enjoy the charm in support of the LGBTQIA2+ community!
I’ve seen more people being nice to each other about their pride charms than I have any hate, personally. It’s been nice to see actually. A few people have commented positively post-game about it; I wish I’d remembered to screen cap them for proof because it’s always heart warming to see stuff like that.
Love to hear that 🏳️🌈
“Oppression Olympics.”
I like that one. Gave me a slight giggle.
That acronym gets longer every day. Case in point, It's actually LGBTQIA2S+ now.
Nobody* is going to complain if you just say LGBT. I do it all the time.
*Yes, a very small number of people will complain, the same way you're complaining about the length of the acronym. Can't please everyone.
You don't really need to say the whole thing. LGBTQ or LGBT+ is fine. Or at least untill a better more efficient acronym comes along.
I love how I posted 2 very clear sentences and somehow you managed to find me saying "I hate how long the acronym is!!" in there.
I found you complaining about the length of the acronym because that's literally what you were doing.
The words "homophobic" and "homophobe" are nowhere in my comment, yet somehow you assume that because I didn't immediately and explicitly agree with you (for the record, I didn't disagree either, I just gave you some advice), I'm accusing you of being a homophobe. Incredible.
FYI, you can have gay friends and still be homophobic, the same way you can be gay and be homophobic (just look at all the closet cases in the news). Furthermore, because nobody accused you of being a homophobe, you have no reason to try to "prove" you're not.
I'm sorry I didn't mean to talk down to you in anyway. I was just saying that you don't necessarily need to say the full acronym especially because I know how tiresome it can be to say the full thing.
Thanks for telling me what I was thinking and feeling. You clearly know me better than I do based off a forum post that you totally didn't misread.
The problem is going to be who it differentiates from the false accusations to the actual true harassment. BHVR is going to have their hands full. Even if it's based on an algorithm determining reports. The spiteful folks who had a bad day. And reports. The claims of hate against the community. The actual reports that are true. The ones playing the game as intended charm or not. It is a small item on a digital character. But it's a large dealing on consequences, on the actions of the player themselves. Because the end result will be a ban. As the answer. Whether they're guilty or not.
Isn't that exactly what you did when you said I was calling you a homophobe, even though that word is nowhere to be found in the comment you quoted?
Oh brother. This isn't remotely worth minutes of my day. Good luck with your anger bud. I'm out.
No anger here, just massive confusion as to why you got so hostile when I literally just tried to give you advice to help with the issue of the acronym's length.
These false claims of getting called homophobic tend to get really problematic in these discussions. Orion really just gave his take on the acronym stuff and nothing more…
Yeah, I'm still not sure what I did wrong.
I knew this was gonna happen as soon as they released those charms. Honesty though charms shouldn't be visible to killers just other survivors imo. Some charms are to bright to be immersed with them.
Just to remind everyone, no one is banned in game without evidence. If you are playing within the rules (which I posted in here earlier), you will not have to worry. And I know many are concerned about the new automated report system, and we will have more on that at a later time.
