Opinions on Tomes

I love the Tomes, it gives me something to work for when playing instead of the usual or killer kills, survivor survives.
There is one minor drawback that I find, in that it can kill games. Somebody who has the challenge of dropping pallets for instance, will run round and drop every pallet on first chase, going from loop to loop, just to finish the challenge. If you are the poor survivors who is chased next, then you have the fun of no pallets. Or as a killer, you may be glad to just chase one person and leave the others to do pallets. Great for the other survivors, not so great for the poor person being chased.
I know there is no solution to this, but I just wanted to see what other people thought.

Yes, it can ruin some games. They really thought it would be fun to have a challenge to cleanse 6 totems in the new mikaela/boon totem tome. I used counterforce jill for it and everyone got mad at me in endgame chat because i effectively disabled their perks and wasted a bunch of time.
It's a waste of time for me so I don't do tomes. If I need BP there are perks and offerings for it. And it's much easier and fun to do it on character u enjoy playing.
So unless u are perfectionist who can't live without doing tomes, I suggest to ignore them. It's a waste of time.
Tomes and challenges are the only thing that keeps the game fresh for me. And I dont mind if someone throws a game for getting them done.
Its a game after all and everyone should play as they want/to have fun
That's why I dodged every lobby with a Mikayla in it. Did all 5 totems in one match, then did one the next match.
I think the tomes are fine, but the challenges can be a bit ridiculous sometimes. The Rift is the only thing keeping me playing this game right now.
Agreed. Its either easy escape or all die, or as killer easy 4K or hard slog to lose. No even games at the moment.
I like having a challenge to do, and it keeps me more interested in the game. That said, I really, really wish you didn't have to do one at a time. It would be a lot more fun if you could work on several at once and take advantage of opportunities that come up in the match instead of trying to force something to happen. Also, if you lock into a challenge and fail it, it basically feels like you wasted a match because you didn't make progress on anything.
Tomes are great.
Like said before me, they introduce a challenge and thereby encourage build diversity to revolve around said challenge.
I wouldn't, say, make a tome for Halloween and call it an event pretty much by itself when tomes are something offered on a regular basis. But in general they're great.
lol. that sounds awesome as long as they weren't actually being hateful.
There were hashtags. Everyone takes this game too seriously:(
I think they should avoid challenges that force you to rely on your teammates or require an escape.
ow. sorry to hear that.
honestly, this game is at it's best when played like a horror experience instead of a game.
Yes, that's what i treat it as. I find it hard to take seriously because it's asymmetrical. So instead of trying to get better or increase the MMR that i cannot see i instead just like to have fun and see what happens.
I like'em simply because I've started a habit of completely changing my builds to devote to challenges - spice of life, and all that.
I spend more times doing the challenges. If I escape its a bonus, if not at least I did the challenge and dont have to worry about campers and tunnellers.
When I am killer then it is up to me when I do them, cause I can let the survivors do their thing.
