How much salt do you get on your steam profiles?

I happen to get quite a lot. In fact a streamer was going off in it just last night for me.

Do you get salt often? Do you find it funny?

    None.

    And it's incredibly disappointing.

I rarely ever get salt, and i'm always super ready for it.

In under 100 hours i got a page full of -rep. My profile has been private then.

i have a public profile and i don't delete anyone that hates ever. To me its a badge of honor that you were so mad to come to my profile and write something vial to make yourself feel better. And if it does its a win win .

not all of them are hateful and not all of them are from DBD, but a huge portion is . It is what it is.

    None, I have mine disabled.

See, I have a great system for handling salt in this game.

I just throw it over my shoulder, and get a lifetimes worth of luck.

I have pages of salt, so much that I finally turned off public comments. Pretty freaking childish tbh, a bit cringe if you ask me.

Plenty of them from DBD survivors, personally I keep all of them as long as the user who posted them has public profile.

very rarely, but when i do, i get told to die

    This much

I had about 70 pages of salt up until 2018 but since quitting killer it has only gone up slowly. Salt on my profile is much, much less frequent when playing survivor.

I deleted quite a few comments back in 2016/2017 and I regret doing so. Every once in a while it's just funny to look back at the ridiculous reasons people are salty and have a good laugh about it.

Same I got a nice comment from a Survivor I made friends with....she gave me head pats hehehe. I'm a good Demo Puppy

  • VikingDragonXiiVikingDragonXii Member Posts: 500

Just change to friends only. My sodium intake is at healthy levels now.

In 6 years I've only ever gotten one comment and it was from a killer saying I didn't good job of saving teammates and taking pressure off them.

I really don't believe this community is as salty and toxic as some people like to say

  • lauraalauraa Member Posts: 1,086

I get a decent amount of salt because of NOED, but for the most part I dont get any comments unless I play Jeryl, then suddenly the urge to spew gross transphobia comes out in full force by both survivors and killers

  • Tr1nityTr1nity Member Posts: 1,979

Just had 3 ppl leave salt on my profile.

    I was playing trapper.

  • YordsYords Member Posts: 5,402

Let me guess, you placed traps and that was considered toxic.

  • EmealEmeal Member Posts: 1,066

I put this on my Steam profile. They don't want to waste their time just to get deleted.

I have significantly reduced steam comments since I added this.

  • SunsetSherbetSunsetSherbet Member Posts: 478

None because I haven't had my steam comments set to public in like a decade.

  • throwaway79465468797throwaway79465468797 Member Posts: 396

I cant see a good reason for letting just anyone make comments on your profile... it's so similar to social media that I dont even want strangers to look at, much less comment on, my profiles on there either.

  • Mister_xDMister_xD Member Posts: 6,896

DbD is the reason why i disabled comments on my steam profile.

i still get people trying to harass me on my screenshots, but that usually just ends with them looking like a clown for my personal entertainment (not very common though, you'd need a lot of salt to go that far).

  • LaluziLaluzi Member Posts: 1,841

None. The one negative comment I've gotten was somebody telling me to stop farming. (In context, I wasn't really farming; I was trying to play normally but this one survivor kept trying to make friends with me, so I was ignoring them and chasing everyone else, with the intent of sparing everyone else at the end because I don't want to play favorites. But the player DCed when they saw me and Claud staring at each other between chases or something.)

I've gotten plenty of +reps though.

  • xxshyguyxxxxshyguyxx Member Posts: 87

I haven't looked. I only play dbd on PC, as I just got a PC back in August. I was console since launch. Not anymore. I never thought to look at my steam page lol.

I do get quite alot of salt in the chats at the end tho.

  • Aven_FallenAven_Fallen Member Posts: 10,392

None, because my profile is privat. Otherwise Killers would dodge me too much in DBD due to my hours.

Also nobody should see all the spicy games I am playing. :>

  • SunsetSherbetSunsetSherbet Member Posts: 478

Unfortunately people will dodge you just for having a private profile. Partly due to fear of SWF but also because of the hacking problem. Lots of hackers have private profiles, so people began dodging them for fear of hackers.

  • oxygenoxygen Member Posts: 2,535

I'd be worried if I had any at all as my entire profile is friends only.

I set my profile to private after I ran into a smurfing streamer and his mates a good while back and managed to beat them (was playing Hag) despite having 1/10th their hours. He evidently sent his two dozen or so viewers over to take a poop on my lawn, accusing me of 'hacking'.

It's been so much better since then.
