DbD Team, be confident

Dear DbD Team, be confident. Especially the direct Devs in your team.
You guys have so many good ideas, you talk about absolute great changes and mechanics in streams and videos. Seriously, you have some really talented people who bring up ideas which would make DbD much better.

Best example is the new end game mechanic you mentioned in a video/stream.
This idea was absolutely amazing and every person I talked with was excited and hyped to see that coming.

But I think you are a little bit to afraid to touch some core mechanics and that is a wasted potentional. You guys need to be much more confident to do changes, you can do that!

Also, you need to trust us as community more and give us the opportunity to test those changes more. I know that you guys do internal testing, but you need to let us players test this and give you feedback (for example the DS change you tested internal but didn't let us test this). Cuz the playerbase has much more variation, we are all between casual players up to absolute tryhards. A pool you guys can benefit a lot. We have the ability of using a PTB, use that more so we all can be part of big changes :)

All what I'm trying to say is that you guys are doing good changes, but the big changes are to slow and you need to more confident and trust yourself. Push those changes into PTBs, nothing can go wrong and we'll appreciate every attempt you do to make DbD better, even if one change fails. Failing is a part and we all can only learn and do better from that next time!
I hope this motivated you!
Stay save guys :)

Us? As in the people on this forum? Who hate every single aspect of the game, and will find something to complain about with every action taken or not taken.

If we could get our ######### together, maybe they'd listen. But would you, honestly?

Idk about you, but I don't hate every single aspect of this game. Otherwise I wouldn't play dbd anymore. People are just overreacting

I was joking mostly. But this forum isn't an ideal audience for providing useful feedback to a development team - almost noone agrees on anything.

Well, where else is the question? They could add a feedback section specific in PTB builds maybe? Idk tbh

THe ideas always sound solid, like the hatch closing mechanic or the sc/DS rework, but they never make it into the game

i think we should start with a community approved Freddy rework maybe if more than 75% of people agreed they would actually listen

Everyone arguing seriously woudl agree of course, but thats not the people that prevent reworks like hatch losing mechanic ro SC/DS. You have to be aware that there are still survivors out there that believe that freddy is op in its current state and has to be nerfed.
I bought him last week ago and played a few games even without perks and in the 3 games I palyed, there was 2 survivors of a SWF telling me I should stop playing this noob killer that is so op

wow just wow peaple who call freddy obviously never played as him or against him enough first off when your falling asleep just run to a pallet and drop it most times you get a free stun then go to where your buddys are and theyll wake you up or fail a skill check for you its too easy to beat i hate how all these rank 20 survivors masquerading as rank 1s get to participate in topics they arent fully educated about.

The difference between you or anyone thinking the hatch changes were solid and the devs ultimately deciding not to go with them, is that they have to consider every aspect and every ripple effect those changes will have. Like not_Queen said, they've made TONS of changes based on our feedback. But they are going to ultimately decide what's best for the community as a whole and not one side or the other. You can disagree with them and they even admit to making mistakes, but that has nothing to do with their confidence. In fact, that they don't simply throw in a change due to popular demand shows that they DO have confidence.

Yes they did many changes BUT they haven't done BIG changes. That's what is the post about. I appreciate the many many changes they did, but I would love to see more confidence to do big changes

The problem with the big changes is they can really break the game, that's why they put them on a ptb, while the hatch closing mechanic sounded good in theory but the ptb the games still went on for too long with some survivors stealthing around hiding and touching gens now and again, it also made it killer sided so flipped the current situation, the hatch should be something to end the game quickly with both sides having an equal chance to kill or live.

The DS change on paper sounds great but I did have the fear that SWF would be just as strong to get in position for the stun with a flashlight save? Maybe they thought the same way.

DS should just be removed imo in and make a new perk, maybe a perk which makes her silent when running with no blood for a few seconds, a juking perk to lose the killer instead of her being a survivor with troll perks.

Well, that should be enough of a squabble to support your claim that few people can agree, or rather, people are all too eager to disagree.

I completely disagree with the OP. Do NOT just rush out big changes because they seem like a good idea at the time! DO take your time to properly test and experiment before making big changes!

Uhm, just FYI: hatch standoff still thing after 2,5 years. And that's just one example. How are coming with rushing now?
Also, I clearly said that changes should be done quicker but in PTBs to test it, how is this affecting the base game? It's only good for all of us lol

@Master We know the Community is eager to see the end game / DS changes. You say the ideas sound solid? We thought that too! That's why we went ahead and tested them. After testing, we realized the outcome wasn't what we were aiming for. What does that mean? Back to the drawing boad!

These specific ideas might not have made it on the live game but many more ideas directly crafted by our Designers or inspired by Community feedback made it to the game.

Think about Wraith changes, flashlight effect changes, pallet changes, HEX spawn modfications, vault changes, etc. Without the work we put in game balance, we wouldn't be where we are today.

Some of that still needs work. Ie: Hex's still spawn next to survivor spawns. I can grit my teeth and bear my hex being in the open, if they don't immediately know where it is. But in about 1/3rd of my games, my hex is gone in under 2 minutes, because survivors spawn next to them, and gens, for that matter.
I do love how you guys listen. But you shouldn't tout something as a success that the community agrees still needs a good bit of work.

That being said, despite my occasional inept rage about things you guys are hopefully fixing. You guys do a good job, but like the OP kinda insinuated. i wish you guys were a bit more profesional with stuff.

Like patch Notes being released with the patch. (or even before hand like many games do)

Like typos that have been in the game since launch being cleaned up. (ie: doctors lore and dull key)

Like having a Known Issue's area that stays updated so the same bugs aren't reported by the community daily, and we don't feel like you're ignoring them.

Like the the boards that are supposed to be updated weekly, being updated (the last time a weekly q/a was posted was june, what's that telling new players when they come to your forums? To me it made me think the game might be dying. Either start doing them again, or remove the inactive board)

I could probably come up with more, but there isn't a need. I've made my point pretty well. I absolutely love this game. And it's definately not dying, it's growing, and has numbers similar to some games with a healthy e-sports league.

I think that's part of the issue. I bet ya'll didn't expect this to be this successful. :)

My exact same thoughts, especially at the end.
I applaud you and hope devs would take into consideration all of this

The devs have stated multiple times that they didnt expect anywheres near the amount success DBD has had... for the first few years of this game the team was tiny bit is now hovering around 80 people I believe... so while they were small and didnt have the resources they do now it was understandable to have slow bug fixes and balance changes as well... and with the store and everything else they have now patches and changes etc... have picked up in pace but they should dish out more ideas to finish the trial... they put out 3 different ideas for the hatch in 1 ptb... why not throw the end game ideas in the ptb? It's what you have it for more ideas in the ptb may attract more attention to it...

And yet with the healing changes, it was nerfed. Sooo... You think they should not only making self healing take 32 to 40 seconds but also if you stop at all you lose all progress??
