They're preparing the killer nerfs. You all know that, enjoy easy auto pilot killer while it lasts.
If they don't, killer vs killer is coming to dbd because no one will play survivor anymore.
I feel like the patch is really good. Besides changes to BBQ and WGLF - these are terrible and makes me want to quit. Bring back the bonuses in a different or the same form and this will make midchapter patch the best patch in DBD history.
"Hard tunneled and camped 9 out of 10 matches" Doubtful. Those terms have been throwing in these forums like pennies to the poor. I'm pretty sure people like you actually count every chase as "tunneling" and every close to the hooks looping as "camping".
I literally had one match where I first downed Claudette. And adter hooking her, I went to search another survivor. Other player unhooked her at some point and I was like "Ok fine." And went on trying to find other survivors. I hooked two others and they had done 2 gens at that moment. I was just strolling around and I found claudette again. Chased her for few seconds and downed her. Put her on the hook and went to kick a gen that were next to the hook. Because I knew otjer survivor (Felix), who sneaked behind the little hill where the hook was, I went after him. Chased him for a while around hook hill and shack that was right next to it. During this time, Kate unhooked claudette and they ran away... Or so I thought. Claudette ran straight towards me. I hit her and got BT. Ok fine.
Went after Kate, because I lost the sight of Felix at that moment. Chased Kate few seconds when claudette ran right at me and took a hit. I didn't pick her up because I knew I was winning the game and wanted to give survivors chance to pick her up... As they did.
Got Kate on hook. Immediately as I hooked her, this Claudette rans to the hook and starts unhook her while I'm still standing there (I was about to leave, just so you know). I hit her, she unhooks Kate, I hit her again and down she goes.
I'm like "Fine. If you wanna die, so be it" I pick her up and put her on the death hook. In the end, three died and one escaped (Felix, because he really got me going during the match and played fair. I let him escape because I thought he deserved it)
Funny thing is, while the match is still going, I'm getting notification on XBox dashboard that I got a message from the caludette player. Read it after the match and I couldn't believe what I was reading.
"You're bad player. Why did you have to tunnel and camping?" I was like "What? What do you mean?"
The player said I was camping during her second hook and while Kate was on hook Tried to explain that it was Felix that kept me there. I was chasing him. All I got back was something the lines of "No you just camped me. And tunneled"
"You ran straight to ME! TWICE!"
"Yeah and you tried to slug me, too"
This went for a few minutes and I was like "yeah whatever" and dropped (at least tried) conversation entirely.
15min later I get yet another message from him "reported for tunneling and camping. Learn to play"
People keep using those words, but I do not think they mean, what they think they mean
Edit; I've read your comment again, and I think I've understood your comment wrong the first time. Sorry about that. But I do think people are throwing buzzwords like "camping" and "tunneling" in these forums way too easily for reasons I've mentioned in my story. They see camping and tunneling when it's just normal gameplay and get mad because they themselves played poorly.
This last mid chapter patch was a big one, there were a lot of changes made including base changes. We are very well aware that it is going to take time for this to settle down and it's something that we are continually monitoring and if we see the need to make changes to things further down the line - that's something we will do.
However, we're not making knee jerk reactions here - if we do see things that we know are going to be an issue of high importance we will of course make changes in the planned Hotfixes, there might also be further changes made down the line depending on how things play out once players have had time to adjust to a lot of the recent changes.
Dead by Daylight is a Live game, it's continually evolving and changes made based on this. The plan of this update was to increase kill rates as those were lower than we would like. It will take some time to fully see the extent of the changes made, players adapt etc. This update and the after effects of this update is definitely something we are monitoring closely.
Were talking about the player change since the Midchapter. Thats the last week. It makes no sense to look at numbers from 3 month ago. Your opinion was that the numbers are stable. Thats wrong as the numbers since last week are still decreasing. And i gave you something to think about, cause normally numbers increase again when a new rift drops. Also the anniversary event ended a month ago, those numbers arent interesting anymore as those have already declined over time since the event ended. Maybe youre the one that should learn how to read numbers.
Because it's not.
Which feedback was that?
the worst update you have released since the hud was changed and you had to rectify it.
For killer no
SWF players and Killer mains did yes.
Go double check the July dev update. It's not hard to see that the changes that were made happened because of the feedback from the forums.
I'm asking you directly, which changes were that from player feedback?
I’ve seen solo players say they think the patch is good overall. And I’ve seen quite a few matches as solo queue survivors from streamers like Scott Jund and Coconuts where they are winning matches currently assuming the other survivors don’t flip out and rage quit on the first down or two. Scott for instance has said a few times that while certain specific things in the patch should be tweaked that overall he thinks this patch is a good one and people are being kind of hyperbolic over it, and he’s a solidly good solo queue survivor player.
Killers were also winning matches before the update, so I guess before the update killers were also fine.
Also Scott "tunneling is fine because I like being tunneled" Jund having an opinion on solo q being fine is kinda meh.
That's great and I'm glad that Scott is having a good time this patch.
I'm not Scott. I can't play Survivor that well, I do not have that many hours on it and I can't find any enjoyment in having the Killer follow me for 5 seconds after I get unhooked to slam me back on the ground. I can't find any enjoyment after seeing a facecamping Bubba after a Thana slowdown stacking Mending Simulator.
I think I've had maybe 5 good games on Survivor since the update dropped. The only reason I keep playing is because I can't very well play Killer with my friends AND those queues are insane.
-Bloodpoint category caps and overall bloodpoint storage cap increased; a clear response to people talking about their diminished bloodpoint gains after the bonuses were removed from BBQ and WGLF.
-Prestige node cost decreased from 50k to 20k; people didn't like how high the cap was. I saw multiple people saying that it shouldn't exist, but if it is going to exist, it should be lower. Clearly, them lowering it is responding to player feedback.
-Endurance chaining was removed; this one is self explanatory.
-Spine Chill was changed. Also self explanatory.
-OTR was changed to disable in the endgame. Self explanatory.
-Overcharge was nerfed, after players raised concerns about how nasty it'd be to handle when paired with other tools. (Personally I wasn't convinced on that one, but it was clearly listening to feedback!)
-Pre-update prestige 3 reward was changed. People hated the original, this is listening to feedback.
You'll notice this is nearly everything in the dev update, hence me just pointing you towards it. The only things that weren't feedback related in there were arguably some of the other cosmetic changes and the Inner Focus change.
Killers were ok before the patch, now they’re slightly better but not overpowered. It’s working out to be something like a 7-9% kill rate increase.
Oh you mean things that have nothing to do with balance were changed, and survivor perks got nerfed + overcharged.
Yea, they did take a lot of feedback from the forums alright, that was their big mistake because of the forums demographic.
Firstly, love the name change
Secondly, even if I'm not 100% happy with the update I'm really glad to see that the knee-jerk reaction of times past won't be repeated. Means we won't get a repeat of Old Freddy (and hopefully, we won't get a patch like 1.9.2 again where the knee-jerk nerf is needed)
...Everything there except the prestige reward is balance, what are you talking about? I guess the BP bonuses aren't balance, though I'd hardly discount those as bad changes considering BP gains are still one of the main things that need working on for this update.
If you agree that they listened to feedback then literally why are you trying to challenge me saying that they listened to feedback?
I understand you need to speak the PR language, although it is very clear that this patch did NOT have the results that you were expecting. Time is at the essence of making the right call and not responding to the feedback provided is not a good sign.
I know you can just report back to the rest of team, but still NOT acknowledging the response that the majority of your player base is giving you is not fair.
I thought you were leaving?
Face camping Bubbas happened before the patch and were just as annoying, that’s not new to the patch.
And the queue times are likewise a short term issue. They’ve already begun to normalize a bit and in a week or so probably the matchmaking incentives will be back on and killer queue times should further improve based on how much it seemed to shift people to play survivor when it was on and stuck on survivor initially.
I don’t have a strong opinion on Thana Legion but I’m sure the devs are keeping an eye on that considering how often people saying those matches are too long. If I had to guess I think that and STBFL are two things that might get tuned a bit once they collect some data and feel the meta stabilized a bit.
The game has been out for years. The gap between solo survivor and SWF has always been huge, made even bigger by this patch. Why is there seemingly no motivation to make a balanced game for ALL players? At this point it seems deliberate.
Solo queue survivor was already super weak. You can't say you didn't see this coming.
Where have I ever said that?
BHVR: "KIll Rates are really low so we're making survivor harder"
Survivor players" *Surprised Pikachu when the patch releases and Survivor is harder*
Also I'm watching kill rates and they're going up but not to anything too crazy it's not even as high as when Freddy was the most hated thing in existence but survivors weren't complaining then so idk what happened.
Yeah, they were around. Almost every Killer we play against (save for the Nurses) plays like that though.
Relentlessly tunnel off of first hook and facecamp the 2nd person because there is no way we can finish the rest of the gens in time.
I made the mistake of thinking that most Killers thought the way I do. That they only tunneled and camped because it was necessary at times for the win, that they didn't enjoy it and wouldn't do it if it wasn't necessary. I was wrong, it isn't necessary now, it's just the easiest way to win.
Solo Q is def not ok.
I don’t know about other killers, personally I don’t bother facecamping because it’s generally inefficient. I don’t have a problem with downing someone multiple times though, ala tunneling, that just makes sense. I’m not standing around the hook waiting for people to come to me but if you unhook right in front of me I’ll definitely take the guaranteed trade and if the unhooked person is still easy to down I’ll do that too.
100%. The problem is that now, survivors have something they can blame. Before, if they lost a match, they just said the killer in question was OP and moved on to next. But now, there's a bug in their ear that says "This patch is really bad guys, so if you lose, blame the patch." So the second they get downed or hooked, they rage DC. Having a scapegoat is empowering to some people. And they act like 10% faster pallet breaks somehow cause them to get down on the 1st loop, instead of just poor looping and positioning. Instead, every bad thing that happens ends up being the patch's fault.
