Hex: Devour Hope Buff

SpacingLlamasSpacingLlamas Member Posts: 145

Just a somewhat small idea to buff DH (Devour Hope), still wont be good for different reasons but its something
Tk=Token

1 Tk = Would notify the killer when the totem is being worked on and/or show the survivor aura for x amount of seconds.
Seeing that DH needs to be build up to its full potential, I think the first token telling you someone is working on it is good. Showing a survivor aura is something extra so the killer knows if the survivor is actually is destroying the totem, not like with thrill of the hunt where it can be abused and tapped over and over again

2 Tk = Would either be what the original 1 token is now for DH or would give an flat increase in movement speed (so increases movement speed by X%). Maybe by 5%
It might be noticeable if a killer starts moving faster out of nowhere and it would give away DH, but you have the 1 token at this point and would be able to defend it. Would be good for downing survivors faster and getting tks faster.
Also fits well with hag slower movement and possibly her new rework high rarity add-ons that remove her teleport ability

3 Tk = Stays the same as before allows you to insta-down all survivors/give all survivors the exposed status effect

4 Tk = The totem takes X% longer to cleanse or increases the cleansing time by x amount of seconds, whichever sounds better
At this point destroying the totem should be much harder after working to getting to this point. Also survivors will go looking for the totem after seeing that you insta-down someone and have DH. Increases the chances of you getting 5 tokens.

5 Tk = Stays the same as before allows you to mori the survivors

Was thinking of switching 2 tokens part with 4 tokens part not sure though as the first 2 tokens would only be about defending and protecting totem and not doing anything else.

Hex's still arent good in general but if they ever get better hiding/spawn spots this perk should be really good.
Tell me what you think or any changes you have for my idea.

You think a perk where are you can literally kill the survivors needs a buff?!? Next you’re gonna be saying brutal strength and barbecue and chilli be buffed. One word. No.

how often do you ever get to 5 tokens and mori someone.
And just cause I want DH to be buff, doesnt mean I want BBQ and whole bunch of other perks to buff as well.
Its a hex perk, their all pretty much not good and no uses them expect for ruin.
So yes I want it to be buff so getting more tokens is possible. And DH problem is keeping the totem, after getting those tokens.
Its the same problem with hex-lullaby, you cant ever get the tokens or after getting 2 or 3 tks it gets destroyed

As much as I want this to be in the game...

    No.
DH will become a meta perk on every single killer game at that point. Because what are the chances that your HEX TOTEM will be found in the first minute of the game without any indication that survivors should look for Hex Totems like with Ruin or Huntress Lullaby?
By that point DH would just be a free NOED before the game even ends. Just no.

I really like this idea but the other totems Haunted Ground and Thrill of The Hunt were designed to protect other totems. Having a totem that increases your power but also gives itself protection would make those other perks useless. Yeah it allows you to have a totem and not need to use another to protect it but the point remains that the other totems have no real place anymore. But I love the idea, it's awesome, my Devour Hope games actually turn out really well, I can get 2 Moris before my totem is destroyed and that's half the team there so I'm happy.

TotH doesn't tell you what hex totem contains which hex perk.

Absolutely NOT! Devour Hope is already good enough, true, you don't get 5 tokens every game, but that's a good thing. You shouldn't be getting 5 tokens on ALL of the games. While yes, looked down upon by some players, the perk has it's own uses, but is NOT useless enough to need a buff.

This is my favorite perk, but that seems to cross the lines of power.

Mine just gets destroyed as soon as exposed turns up but I still love it

Surprisingly high chances they’ll find it near the beginning if it isn’t the game or pantry

Personally rather than buffing hexes they should make them harder to get rid of or give them better spawn points.

I would love as the killer to move my totem to another spawn point via an interaction if i think it's been found.

The 5% MS buff sounds overpowered.

I was trying to have movement speed % that was significant or noticeable. It could be lower to 1 or 2%

I seen many people suggest that, but many people also don't like the idea of you picking it's location. I think it's an okay idea

I did a few games using DH, was playing pig and on X1X. Out of 10 games never got to 5 tks. Every other game it got destroyed at 1tk or 3 tk, after insta-downing them

1 Tk = Would notify the killer when the totem is being worked on and/or show the survivor aura for x amount of seconds.

    TOTH

2 Tk = Would either be what the original 1 token is now for DH or would give an flat increase in movement speed (so increases movement speed by X%). Maybe by 5%

so we have a killer that is chasing us at a NOED speed. 1st of all good survivors will notice that and look for the totem 2nd of all holy no 120% ms would be ridicolous

3 Tk = Stays the same as before allows you to insta-down all survivors/give all survivors the exposed status effect

    ye

4 Tk = The totem takes X% longer to cleanse or increases the cleansing time by x amount of seconds, whichever sounds better

    ... TOTH

5 Tk = Stays the same as before allows you to mori the survivors

    and ye

You just want Devour Soap to have in built TOTH and be NOED at the same time.

  • SpacingLlamasSpacingLlamas Member Posts: 145
The problem with TOTH is you don't know what totem is being destroyed. And even with TOTH, you can't really protect your totem still, cause your essentially protecting two totems.
So either your DH is destroyed or TOTH is destroyed and DH will be destroyed shortly after.
Honestly TOTH should be baseline for hexes and have TOTH reworked. Then it wouldn’t be need on DH
