Some players have been facing an issue that causes partial loss of progress. We found one cause of the issue and are planning a fix for the mid-chapter update. In the meantime you can use this workaround: restart the game client after using the Custom game feature. Thank you.

Anyone else think hillbilly is...

over rated?

Hes actually not a hard killer to beat if you know what you’re doing.

    Overrated? Nah.
He's pretty good. But you must know how to play him

When it comes to playing against him it's the generous hitbox on the chainsaw that bugs me. Seems like if you're anywhere within a half-mile radius it counts as a hit.

I'd love that half-mile hitbox. Whenever I play him, it feels like my hitbox is half of an inch. Whenever it looks like I should get a hit, I don't and Billy just keeps zooming.

    He's amazing. Huntress is overrated.

I wouldn't say that he is overrated, but he is dangerous if you're not nearly a pallet or window.
EDIT: I would also say that he is amazing hardly to dodge with steering addons. Even more dangerous than insta-down chainsaw.

Killer is default level easy-mode, Billy is essentially easy-mode on top of easy-mode so there's that.

I mean come on it even says "easy" above his character selection icon, how more obvious can it get they've put a bloody great neon sign above the character stating that "if you choose this killer, your choosing easy-mode" lawl.

After they changed the ranking system I noticed that I started pipping and getting a ton of points against hillbilly

Imho Billy is the only balanced killer in DbD.

Insane mobility+1-shot the entire game i fail to see how is that overrated.
If you ask me he should lose his 1-shot, theres no reason for him to have it since he has that INSANE mobility.
I would understand him back in the days with 20 seconds sprint burst, and x2 pallets but now he needs to go down a bit he is too crazy.

The bbq nerf hurts him a lot though.

Killers strength or weakness was about the inverse relationship between tracking and chases.

Bbq made hillbilly and nurse godlike because they became excellent at both chases AND tracking.

i would definitely not say he is overrated.
he has an extremely good map pressure and can oneshot you whenever he wants.
against a really good hillbilly, there is not much you can do, especially when he gets that snowball effect goin he is aiming for.

I'm gonna say it: He's cheap, like... HELLA cheap. I honestly think that hardly anybody would fail using him.

He has a one-hit KO, extremely good mobility and map pressure, naturally possesses one of the best perks to counter pallets and DS (Enduring), can destroy pallets real fast and his chainsaw hitbox is very generous.

Overrated? Maybe... but he's undeniably a pain in the ass if you don't know how to properly loop.

    Some probably do.
    I don't.

I can agree with that, definitely not as big of a challenge as some make him out to be. Chainsaw is dangerous but also really easy to deny if your not blindly running around.

His chainsaw can bend around trees and stuff and land a hit on you. That's my biggest gripe.

    hahaha lol
if killer is easy mode then survivor is the tutorial

he's the most balanced killer in the game

  • WeederickWeederick Member Posts: 567

He is as good as the survivors allows. Most survivors are boosted, so he is pubstomping for the most part.
Against good swf squads, i prefer huntress and spirit. Against solos, hag is better, if the survivors are very skilled individually.
He has no tools to beat toptier survivors in a chase, which is a major drawback. But if they cant loop well, he can indeed go from hook to aura to hook to aura.
He only becomes overpowered with instasaw imo

Instasaw is broken. Instasaw makes him easy to use, you can spam it nonstop without thinking wether it will hit or not, since it closes the gap anyways without cooldown and you can just start another saw with 1s charge time.

That doesnt make it less broken. Some claim they can deal with 3-omegablink. But it lowers the skillfloor so dramatically that the risk/reward is unbalanced. Billys chainsaw at base is high risk/high reward ability. With instasaw there is no risk, just spam. Like 3 omegablink nurse, you can keep correcting your mistakes.

I am so absolutely terrible with billy it's not even funny. I can play the spirit and the clown really well and even pretty decent with freddy. The ones that have easy in the bio doesn't mean jackshit to me. His chainsaw has the whackiest hitbox in dbd where it looks like you're gonna hit but nah they turned a half inch away and you missed. The corner of the boxes? Definitely gonna hit that [BAD WORD] 100% of the time.
