How fast can you repair a generator by yourself?

Today, I watched a comparison, which was telling how fast and efficiently you can heal others or yourself, using certain perks and med-kits. Then asked myself "What about generators?" and decided to make some research about that. This list excludes hitting great skill checks and Ruin, but includes perks that both speed up or slow down repairs. Enjoy reading!

Default time to complete a Generator is 80 seconds, which equals your default repair speed is 1,25%/sec.

Toolboxes repair speed bonus ranges from 10-25%:

  • By themselves:
    • Alex's Toolbox: +10% repair speed - 72,7 seconds (1,375%/sec)
    • Worn-out Tools, Toolbox and Commodious Toolbox: +15% repair speed - 69,6 seconds (1,4375%/sec)
    • Mechanic's Toolbox: +20% repair speed - 66,7 seconds (1,5%/sec)
    • Engineer's Toolbox: +25% repair speed - 64 seconds (1,5265%/sec)
  • With Clean Rag add-on (+10% repair speed):
    • Alex's Toolbox: +20% repair speed - 66,7 seconds (1,5%/sec)
    • Worn-out Tools, Toolbox and Commodious Toolbox: +25% repair speed - 64 seconds (1,5265%/sec)
    • Mechanic's Toolbox: +30% repair speed - 61,5 seconds (1,625%/sec)
    • Engineer's Toolbox: +35% repair speed - 59,3 seconds (1,6875%/sec)
  • With Socket Swivels add-on (+15% repair speed):
    • Alex's Toolbox: +25% repair speed - 64 seconds (1,5265%/sec)
    • Worn-out Tools, Toolbox and Commodious Toolbox: +30% repair speed - 61,5 seconds (1,625%/sec)
    • Mechanic's Toolbox: +35% repair speed - 59,3 seconds (1,6875%/sec)
    • Engineer's Toolbox: +40% repair speed - 57,1 seconds (1,75%/sec)
  • With Clean Rag and Socket Swivels add-ons:
    • Alex's Toolbox: +35% repair speed - 59,3 seconds (1,6875%/sec)
    • Worn-out Tools, Toolbox and Commodious Toolbox: +40% repair speed - 57,1 seconds (1,75%/sec)
    • Mechanic's Toolbox: +45% repair speed - 55,2 seconds (1,8125%/sec)
    • Engineer's Toolbox: +50% repair speed - 53,3 seconds (1,875%/sec)

Resilience increases your action speed by 3/6/9% while injured:

  • Resilience I - 77,7 seconds (1,2875%/sec)
  • Resilience II - 75,5 seconds (1,325%/sec)
  • Resilience III - 73,4 seconds (1,3625%/sec)

Brand New Part repairs up to 25% of the Generator within 5 seconds:

  • 0 BNP skill checks hit equals +15% progress; cuts off 7 seconds of repairing
  • 1 BNP skill check hit equals +20% progress; cuts off 11 seconds of repairing
  • 2 BNP skill checks hit equals +25% progress; cuts off 15 seconds of repairing

Spine Chill increases your action speed by 2/4/6% while the Killer is looking at you:

  • Spine Chill I - 78,4 seconds (1,275%/sec)
  • Spine Chill II - 76,9 seconds (1,3%/sec)
  • Spine Chill III - 75,5 seconds (1,325%/sec)

Thanatophobia applies 3/3.5/4% action speed reduction for each unhealthy Survivor:

If you're still reading, I appreciate. The guide has been written for about 2 hours, spent mainly on calculating repair speed values. See you in the Fog!

    Dang, bookmarking this! :D

It could be good adding how many generators these can last, like this Youtuber Pain Reliever showed. Green toolboxes lasts longer than purple for some reason too with addons.

    this was really well done.

    Good Job.

It'd be easier to read if you based all calculations on level 3 perks, instead of all three levels of a perk. I can understand why you did it, of course.. just saying, you know?

  • BloodyTappBloodyTapp Member Posts: 108

Yeah, I get it. It'd be much easier to read and still understandable, although the repair timer is 80 seconds and I wanted to show that "small" values in such cases can really make a difference (Spine Chill for example)

It's 34 seconds when you add in Resilience as well. Now, if only those gens weren't blocked when the hatch EGC starts...

  • xnes_galaxxnes_galax Member Posts: 149

Thats not right. If you have left behind, 5 gens left, an engineer toolbox with double speed addons, resilience and constant spine chill it will take around 10.5 seconds, all 5 gens with this metod take around 1.20 seconds. Tested in KYF.

Anyways interesting guide. What about adding also prove thyself?

  • Sasha_ZotovaSasha_Zotova Member Posts: 5

I definitely would add Prove Thyself with Resilience, Spine Chill, & Streetwise (to reduce item consumption rate on your Toolboxes). I personally also think these following 3 are the best Toolbox add-ons to use:

    • Brand New Part (if you are truly adept at hitting those difficult skill checks, this is probably the main add-on you'll want to be using)
    • Instructions (this goes well with Streetwise on your Toolbox; the efficiency makes it last a bit longer)
    • Socket Swivels (for the moderate repair speed; I usually combine this with Instructions if I don't have access to Brand New Part)

I give an Honorable mention to using the combination of Clean Rag & Scraps (those 2 are the most common add-ons you can find on the Bloodweb if you don't readily have access to the aforementioned 3)
