This is just a post outlining a pitch for the devs to pursue the license to the Candyman character. No fancy fanfiction or stylized details. Just game mechanics and backstory.
Possible name: The Painter, The Artist, The Candyman, The Hook
Stats: Height, 6ft. Speed, 110%. Terror Radius, 28m.
Possible power: Mirrors. A large number of mirrors are randomly strewn around the map. If a survivor looks at the mirror, Candyman's image will appear behind them and their aura will be revealed for as long as they look at it.. After a survivor sees Candyman 5 times (or for 10 seconds), Candyman can teleport to the mirror. After teleporting, bees swarm the terror radius of the killer for 60 seconds, causing survivors to scream and become hindered if they remain in the terror radius when Candyman gains bloodlust. Survivors lose hindered status as soon as they exit the terror radius. Candyman does not lose bloodlust when breaking pallets but still does when hitting a survivor.
Addons: Some addons could change the hindered status from the bees to a different status, such as hemorrhage or blindness. Some addons would reduce the number of times survivors need to see a mirror. Some could increase terror radius in exchange for survivors needing to see mirrors more. Ultra rare could allow Candyman to teleport to any mirror on a 2 minute cooldown.
Backstory: Candyman was a famous artist named Daniel who fell in love with a white woman who he was hired to paint. She became pregnant and her father found out. He organized a lynch mob to kill Daniel. They cut off his right hand (his painting hand) and then tarred him with honey before killing him with a hive of bees. His ghost now haunts places that contain artistic elements and people who believe in him. His ghost sees bloodshed as his new form of art. Now instead of painting with brushes and pigment, he paints with his hook and his victim.
Other interesting facts: Candyman's presence causes people to become dazed and see visions of his art and swarms of bees. Candyman kills out of passion rather than revenge. Candyman's portrayal was made to be seductive and otherworldly rather than shocking and gruesome, though there are elements of his body which are gruesome, such as his exposed organs and ribcage where the bees reside.
What do you all think? This is a pitch and would be very unlikely to accurately represent the final mechanics. I think he would be upper-mid-tier with this.
