Just wanted to say something to the Art Team.

They are killing it! This new wave of skins for Trapper and Billy are absolutely amazing! Keep it up, I'll keep spending the money :D

Yeah, the art team is easily the most competent part of BHVR's Dead By Daylight team. They really sucked back in the day, but they started to upgrade around the Hag-Doctor era of the game, and then really kicked it up a notch from Clown onwards. My favorite Killers aesthetic-wise are all the ones added after Clown and then Huntress.

Hell, even Faceghost. Much like how the bootleg Bubba is somehow better than the real Bubba, their ripoff Ghostface looks WAY cooler than the original. He looks like he's actually dressed to be a serial murderer, instead of being dressed in a Halloween costume that an eleven-year-old got from Party City.

Well, I can understand people being disappointed in the fact that ghostface wasn't the same as the movie. As a fan of the movie, I had some disappointment too.

I like both looks, especially the blue one, which I use, but I do want a version of the movie one as a cosmetic in the future... hopefully.

Huntress came way before Clown. She came right after the Doctor.

Well as someone who sees Scream as a horror-comedy that is neither scary nor funny, I'm quite happy that Faceghost doesn't look like the silly little boy wrapped in a black curtain that we see in the franchise.

"Huntress came way before Clown. She came right after the Doctor."

That's why I said my favorite Killers design-wise are "all the Killers that came after Clown AND THEN Huntress."

Um, no. Scream is a satire, not a comedy. There are still some good jumpscares in there, and tries to be a faithful horror movie. Whether or not you laugh is up to you.

The point of the halloween costume for Ghostface is that anyone can be a suspect. It's an easy costume to acquire.

    Sorry, your phrasing confused me.

Yes, I agree. The Creative Department seems to be the only department worthy of actual praise.

@Raven014 i personally use the jet black robes with the demon mask but hey that's just me lmao so ready for the metal mask on him though, would love to get a more stealth oriented mask though

  • Raven014Raven014 Member Posts: 4,188

I do like that metal one as well.

If we got a stealthy mask, then it would be hard for survivors to see him, then they'd complain and BHVR would remove it. : P

"Um, no. Scream is a satire, not a comedy."

Honestly, when I watched it, it felt like it was trying pretty damn hard to be funny.

It was failing miserably at it, but hey, it was trying.

"The point of the halloween costume for Ghostface is that anyone can be a suspect. It's an easy costume to acquire."

That doesn't change the fact that it is a very unimpressive and unimposing shroud that makes anyone who wears it look like a child going trick-or-treating. Hell, an edgy teen could close their eyes and pull a random jacket and pants out of their wardrobe and have a more murder-y costume than that.

Oh wait, they did. They're called the Legion.

i still want some shard skins for billy...

but yeah, they look great xD

  • Raven014Raven014 Member Posts: 4,188

I mean, that could work, but it might make survivor more difficult only on certain maps. They still might complain. XP

A satire isn't inherently funny. You may draw humor from it, but not everyone will. That's the point, that it makes a point about something. It is a satire on horror movies, and makes fun of their conventions (the actions of the lead character, of the killer, of the side character saying right behind you to the movie while there is a killer behind them... etc.). Only those who can get the satire will laugh (which appears to be both of us).

It makes sense for the movie for the costume to be easily accessible. However, in DBD, it does not due to the backstory.

Now I'm waiting for a movie costume adaptation. The people who mainly wanted ghostface in the game wanted the movie ghostface. Just because you didn't doesn't mean others didn't either.

I like both looks, since both look great for what they are trying to do.

The thing is, Scream doesn't work as a satire because it tries to use the exact same tropes it satirizes to be an actual horror movie. It's like a stand-up comedian making fun of a specific type of humor but then using said humor in his routine. Doesn't make much sense. It is literally so bad of a satire that a movie parodying it did a better job of satirizing horror movies.

"It makes sense for the movie for the costume to be easily accessible"

That still doesn't change the fact that it looks bloody stupid.

"The people who mainly wanted ghostface in the game wanted the movie ghostface."

Well, the Ghostface we got is just a straight upgrade since he actually has a murderous costume and isn't an unfunny joke of a slasher villain, so I don't see why everyone is complaining.
