Yes I am posting videos from Tru3 as ‘proof’.
Usually ruin gets broken immediately anyway so this isn't too special lol
I never use ruin any way
Also good luck on all the "Ugh, video as proof" comments
I know, that is why I don’t use it.
You know my killer rank is back under 15 after the rank reset. I don't have Ruin on any of my killers but I bought it at the shrine some time back. I think I'll try it and bully some newbies for a bit.
I mean, all fair, I'm really still a killer newb.
I watched the first 5 minutes of the doc video. I hope the other vids have survivors lasting more than 15 seconds in a chase, or else this is some pretty [BAD WORD] "proof"
Honestly, these survs were bad and when you face this kind of players, you can "prove" anything. (I skimmed through the first 2 videos.)
However, often enough Ruin gets cleansed super early so the majority of matches is a game without Ruin anyway.
The survivors in the Trapper video were better.
Ah yes, the salt begins
Yeah you don’t need it, but it sure makes life easier. When it’s not broken in the first 2 mins anyways.
I don't see any salt. You don't think the survivors played well, do you?
I'm not even gonna watch the videos because I don't care about Tru3
I used to enjoy his content now not so much anymore
Just the "Ugh, video isn't proof" comments have become annoying, everyone knows it's not proof, just don't comment
I watched the first 2:30 minutes. No ruin, one gen done. Come on, that's not normal.
@LCGaster "everyone knows it's not proof, just don't comment"
Fine by me. Okay, let's stop discussing about the videos. It doesn't prove anything anyway.
Exactly, thank you
just watched that too. only the claud played well in chases. everyone grouped up early game and tru3 got tons of pressure from it.
and not to mention there was 1 gen remaining at 8:28 and it didnt pop until 12:39 LOL
Ruin is considered mandatory because it slows down the early game. If you can get lucky and apply pressure to multiple survivors at once in the first minute (on most killers, this is a result of survivor mistakes moreso than killer skill) then Ruin isn't necessary. Once you go into the midgame, other slowdown perks are superior. But that first minute is absolutely critical. If you don't get a hook or multiple people wounded and reeling in that first minute, then you will lose against decent survivors unless you brought Ruin.
That is kinda the point, people often post videos on the forums as ‘proof’ but the survivors/killer usually make a lot of mistakes.
It isn’t that hard to hold the last gen, way easier to apply pressure at that point, especially with PGTW.
I just got a draw against really good loopers without ruin, could’ve been a 3/4K if I didn’t mess up.
People won’t let go of their security blanket.
It is like self care before they nerfed it down multiple times.
The only way to get Ruin out of the meta and 85%+ of red rank games is for Behaviour to change the perk.
You can post a video of a content creator losing in 3 minutes, everyone says this is more than enough proof of “survivors op.”
You post a video of the opposite, and it’s “survivors are bad. He got lucky. “
People only want proof of what will fit their Agenda.
He blackpips most of the "No Ruin" Games tho. 4k without ruin? Yes. Win without ruin? Most likely no.
Maybe the new "Dying Light" is an option.
4K is a win, pips are not a winning condition.
I you think so...
Okay, so I guess after a Tru video being used for weeks to "prove" that gens go too fast, now we're using Tru videos to "prove" that we don't need Ruin.
I'm struggling to understand the purpose of this thread. Is it supposed to help people who rely on Ruin get off it? Because whether or not the game's best players need it is kind of irrelevant when the overwhelming majority of killers seem to view it as mandatory.
I'm honestly just confused.
As someone fairly new to the game, I rushed leveling up Hag second just to get Ruin and honestly, this perk hasn't been too great for me.
Most matches where it works, the survivors are already very inexperienced and Ruin wouldn't have changed how much of a stomp it was for me.
The matches where the perk sucks is because it gets found within 20 seconds or the survivors can hit great skill checks and ignore the perk mostly.
For example, on Coldwind I see Ruin spawn out in the open and it got cleansed almost immediately.
Same map, it spawned right next to three survivors and it was impossible for me to stop them from cleansing it in time due to where I spawned.
Even when Ruin is up for a while, I feel like I'd make better use out of other perks like PGTW or Surge, but hey maybe that's just a preference thing.
I think I can find videos from Tru3 where he got 4 kills with 5 gens left with old Freddy and say :"video proof that old Freddy was better than Omega Blink Nurse".
I spent 2k shards on this perk after hearing how mandatory it was from multiple streamers and experienced players, but my experience is similar to yours. Most games it's either ignored or cleansed immediately, every so often it breaks the game for survivors who can't handle it.
I may have a slanted view of the perk due to Myers being my most-played killer and his early game being so slow, so I feel like I need it even if I'm not sure whether I do or not.
Mostly poking fun at the “this video proves it” post, including this one.
Oh. Pardon my obtuseness, then.
Ruin only good on low ranks since survs can't hit great skill checks. Closer to purple ranks ruin really doesn't matter
