Novel idea for game balance. . . what are your thoughts?

After reading endless posts complaining about game balance I've thought of a new idea that I think could work. What if each individual survivor's objective action base speed was adjusted each match based upon relation to the killer's rank.
Here's my thought. Base speed could be +/- 3% per ranking tier disparity relative to killer rank. Here are some examples:
1. Red rank killer - Red rank survivor would have normal base action speed, Purple rank survivor +3% base speed, Green rank survivor +6% base speed, Yellow rank +9%, & Brown rank +12% speed.
2. Brown rank killer - Brown rank survivor would have normal base action speed, Yellow rank survivor -3% base speed, Green rank survivor -6% base speed, Purple rank -9%, & Red rank -12% speed.
3. Green rank killer - Green rank survivor normal base, Yellow rank +3% speed, Purple rank -3%, etc.
Wondering what the community and any devs like @Peanits think of this idea.

What happens if a Red Rank player SWFs with a bunch of Red Rank Survivors using Brown/Yellow-Rank accounts to pair against a Red Rank Killer??
Quite the novel idea to boost gen speeds while the major complant is they go too fast.
Maybe start at yellow ranks with 3% slower and move up from there. (Not a serious idea, don't freakout)
Well there are always going to be people who try to cheat the system. Unfortunately that's life and can't be avoided. I don't have any statistics but I would imagine very few players actually go to those lengths to gain a slight competitive advantage.
Giving Red Rank players an additional 9-12% gen speed for free is not a slight advantage.
No freaking out here. Lol Just mainly tossing out an idea for some brainstorming. Also it would only boost gen speed if a high rank killer faced low rank survivors. If a low rank killer faced a high rank survivor group it would slow gen speed.
I do not think this could work. Ideally, matchmaking shouldn't be placing a brown rank survivor with a red ranked killer ever anymore. The only instance in which that would happen is if that survivor is playing with a red ranked survivor. In terms of a brown ranked killers facing a red ranked survivor, this should never happen anymore under any circumstances (following the change in 3.2.1).
That would raise the question, "So why not?"
Simply put, because experienced player(s) could make a new account and play with their red ranked friend to have a 12% repair speed increase. It has a huge potential to be abused.
I think you are misreading the post. A red rank survivor would never get a speed boost. If they play a red killer they'd be at base speed. Any lower rank killer and the survivor would have a speed penalty.
Thanks for the dev viewpoint. I guess more people make completely new steam accounts to gain competitive advantage than I thought. Seems like way too much trouble to me! Lol
I think they can get banned, if im not wrong
That's what I thought too. . .
Also, maybe I'm confused or not being clear. In the last scenario with the red rank survivors and their shady brown ranked "new account" player, the red ranks still wouldn't have a boost. My suggestion wasn't that all survivor speed be tweaked based on the lowest rank. It would be on a per survivor basis. I'm assuming this could be done since there are perks that affect this on a per survivor basis.
For the entire team to get the speed boost all four survivors would have to create new brown accounts. They would then end up being paired with a brown killer and there would no longer be a rank parity. Therefore no speed boost for the shady survivors. Just the typical low rank killer torture they were probably going for by making a new account anyway.
Sorry, I should have specified. Giving Red Rank players using smurf accounts 9-12% boost for free is not only a slight advantage.
@Peanits
To be frank, the idea that the only way grey ranks match against red rank killers is through SWF doesn't match with reality. In my SWF teams of green, purple, and red friends, we've been getting paired with ranks 20-15 rather consistently as the odd man out - against killers ranging from 2-18.
After 3.2.1? There was a change to the way it works and that is not longer possible. It will use the highest survivor's rank to find a killer, which can only be within a certain range. A red ranked survivor (or group with a red ranked survivor) should never get a rank 20-15 killer anymore.
But assuming it does happen, that would be a matchmaking issue. The solution in my eyes would be to fix whatever is causing that to happen rather than slapping a repair speed penalty on top of it.
(Insert flex tape meme.)
@Peanits
Correct me if I'm wrong, but longer wait times expand the lobby level range, right? Considering my SWF wait times currently sitting at an average of 7 minutes, sometimes going longer, how much does that expand the game range?
It's happened a few times since the hotfix. Saying it's no longer possible is one thing, but when that's just untrue I don't know what to tell you.
To a certain point. It will only expand to a certain point and then stop these days. It's low enough that a red ranked survivor will never get a brown ranked killer.
@Peanits
Then there's a 'matchmaking issue', because I've gotten both red (heh, typo) and brown ranked killers as rank 4 most recently. IF it happens again, is there a method by which I can help report it so this can be looked at?
Absolutely. If it happens again, please let me know. You can drop a screenshot and roughly when it happened on my profile, and I'll get in touch to grab your player ID in private. I'll pass that info over to the team so we can see what's going on.
