The Myth Of Freddy's Lunge

I've seen a number of people claim Freddy has a 'BS lunge' and 'A lunge that compensates for missing'.
Let's clear the air:
Freddy does not have a larger lunge! It looks longer because he's shorter and his weapon has a shorter physical reach. Thus, in order to reduce 'He never hit me with his glove!" moments, they made his lunge animation match his attack hurtbox, which is the same reach as every other killer, so it looks like he is lunging further!

the whole “smaller weapon” thing is very misleading especially when trying to time vaults, pallets etc. id literally prefer him to have a meme oversized hand that made sense than randomly being hit due to a small weapon
