I take what I said about Stridor back and admit I was wrong about that. Doesn't change how the original video and channel looks rather odd in being edited in both blocking builds and having overscan. If you care about uploading clips and even go through the effort of editing them for one reason or another, then why don't you bother to care about how they look or to the point of crap?
It doesn't add up to me. You having a source doesn't change my opinions of the content possibly not being yours as you still need an unedited copy in order to edit.
Plus, this can also be proof towards sounds being bugged. You can't hear the Survivor till after you get line of sight. Sound is suppose to go through walls with each wall and overall distance making the sounds harder to hear.
Hearing breathing through a wall is unlikely, but on the other side of a rock/tree? And moments later as the Killer walks away ALL sounds (pain grunts and self caring) are lost going from 90-80% to 0% the moment you go past another tree not a couple meters away.
In the very video you posted showing how sounds aren't bugged. Survivors don't make any sounds at all once you are a few steps away from them in what should have been half cover at best.
For me, it looks like you used Stridor and want to cover up that fact.
You are free to believe what you want. There is literally no way to "prove" that my clips are mine. I don't even know why I would have to prove it anyways. Anyways you see there's no Stridor and regular breathing was loud enough to find a survivor. That's why I wondered why people make a fuzz about sounds. As others have clarified it appears to be an inconsistent issue making it seem like everything was fine for some players whereas others experience game breaking sound bugs. At this point there's not much more to say to this topic.
I can confirm sounds are also funky on ps4. I don't use stridor that much so i can't say anything about it but everything else mentioned happens on console as well.
The sounds are WAY quieter than they used to be, also sometimes dont even work.
No one even said Sounds were "gone". Not from any posts I've seen. Sounds are bugged. No one is pretending. This causes sounds to be inconsistent and occasionally footsteps, grunts, moans, completed gens etc. will not be audible.
Sounds being inconsistent is a HUGE issue that needs to be addressed.
I'm on PS4 btw and notice it as Survivor and Killer.
To be fair I've only encountered this bug like 2 times out of 200, but it does happen, the music overpasses the survivor's noises, not cause of the killer or so, but cause of a sound bug, same killer in same map before without the issue, tends to happen with GF, Trapper and Spirit
Even though we're only pretending this is happening you have to admit we coordinated it well, all agreeing on specific made-up audio problems to complain about. But you have single-handedly cracked our little conspiracy. Bravo
On console I haven't noticed any sound problems. On PC there are huge sound problems from the killer perspective, from a survivor perspective Spirit is the only killer I noticed with a problem. I crouched up to her to eat her ass and I heard her phasing sounds.
Headphone quality factors in as well. I upgraded during the holidays and was blown away by how much I can hear now. I never knew you can hear uninjured locker breathing from 8 meters away.
Your video actually shows the issue: you heard her from open areas. The bug is sound vanishing when survivors/generators/totems are out of line of sight. You can even have this happen as a survivor while working on a generator that has a wall nearby and you 'hide' the generator from your line of sight. Before you walked around the rock you didn't hear her at all then walked past her and breathing restarted.

Sound quality detoriated heavily since its release. I always used the same computer for playing Dbd, and even got headphones specifically for hearing people better. I used to be able to hear footsteps loud and clear through the chase music, and can still do so if I watch a YT video made back in 2018. But now I don't hear ######### anymore. Add in sound occlusion that litterally can block 100% of the sound from certain angles, even when its just one object obtructing, and you get a system that doesn't reliably give you auditory feedback anymore. Its clear as the sky at this point.
I'm not saying they're pretending, but i personally don't suffer from this.
Or i do without noticing (stealthy Survs 'n' stuff), but at the very least, i have no problems so far with hearing in which direction the Survivor is running after dropping a Pallet.
And i can still hear No Mither users' breathing without Stridor thanks to these headphones.
That's not me saying there's no problems though, the post made it clear some people have them.
And sound is way too important to ignore, it can mean the difference between successful & unsuccessful chases.
I can't blame them to be honest. I question issues if I don't experience them / don't notice them and I enjoy messing with perk/addon blockers. I'm such a bad person haha.
I don't find it consistent. However there have been times when I would walk up to, say like a generator in the safe house, and can't hear the gen being activated. So I turn by back to walk away and then just as I take a few steps it lights up completed. Those moment's blow my mind. Then there are other times when Survivor's would straight up follow, or sneak around me and I can't hear anything at all.
Even as survivor I sometimes wonder if the killer gets a sound bug around me. Many times I started healing with not more than a rock between me and the killer, and he just walks away like I was never there. I assume because he couldn't hear the sound. There are times when I break LOS, and slowly step in a locker and the killer just walks by like he didn't even hear the sound of the locker door close. I've had Killer's walk up to the safe house when i'm 75% done of the gen inside, and then just turn and walk away like nothing was there.
I'm using the safe-house as an example since it does have 4 walls, and most of the time there is always a wall between the generator that spawns inside it, and the killer.

Yeah I just pretend that sometimes downed survivors have no sound. I Just like to search them on the ground after I downed them, although I can hear them. I like to stand right next to them like a moron instead of picking them up.
The title is in no way meant to be insulting and to me it sounds like an ordinary question. Would it make more sense if I said "why do people claim" rather than "why do people pretend"?
Found the best example last night, and it's reproduceable in every match.
Get on Springwood and head to the house with the generator in the basement. This is on any map it spawns there. The one with the car in the garage and that loop w/ pallet. Stand a bit back from the stairs and you will not hear the generator at all. As you go down the stairs, the generator noise will slowly become audible. At one point while you are on the stairs though, it actually completely mutes. Then you take another step, and it becomes fully audible again.
I had 5 matches yesterday on Springwood's various iterations with that generator setup, and in every case this happened to me. Twice it caused me to lose that generator specifically because I thought no one was working on it. Once I realized what was happening, I could prevent it simply by going closer to the generator when patrolling, but sounds coming out of that basement area are screwed up.
So far that's the only bug I can reproduce with consistency. Honestly though, the rest of the sounds are pretty solid for me. I'm just using some cheap Walmart generic headphones, so quality isn't exactly there for me. I have gone in and rebalanced stuff in my audio though for various other games, so I'm wondering if some of these bugs are being caused by people's audio setups or software that isn't reproducing sounds correctly for them.
Most of the time the problems I have with sounds is not that I don't hear them, but that I hear them from the wrong direction. Like I'll sometimes hear grunts of pain from an Ace from behind me when he's at a pallet to my right. It's definitely a problem, but probably not as much of a problem as many killers say
The point of this thread is to collect information. People have posted sound bugs that can be reproduced so I don't understand what the point is in taking the title like a personal attack when it isn't. The thread questions on what factors people complain in terms of sounds and some forum users have greatly contributed to collecting valuable information in this regard. I got called a content thief for using blockers in my clips yet you don't see me get upset, do you?
If you prefer getting upset over one single word then I can't help you. Also I can add questions like "how loud are survivors supposed to be" all I want. You don't get to tell me what to ask bud. If you feel attacked over something as trivial as an ordinary question then maybe forums aren't for you.
Probably because, and I'm just going out on a limb here, sounds are messed up.
