Make Mend and Heal different buttons

Deep wounds erase your healing progress and prevent you from healing until you mend. The more you know.
the deep wound status effect has already been changed for the better for survivors, it's fine the way it is now.
Oh he must've missed you. It happens with self care all the time.
I get what you're saying. If a person who is making a save (whether that's to unhook or pick someone up off the ground) is injured they for some reason will try to self-heal or mend instead of attending to the other survivor (the one being saved or unhooked) and it can be insanely frustrating. Same with trying to open a gate. If you stop opening the gate and are wounded or get wounded and you go to try and open it again really fast it will initiate self-heal (if wearing it) or make you mend (if that's necessary) instead. There have been several times where this has screwed up my strategy. xD It's infuriating.
Well, that's an issue with lots of controls.
Previously, one would even struggle to unhook someone if there was an item right under the hook. I remember that being a huge problem. But they actually fixed all that stuff by making the action you'd perform depend on the direction you're looking at.
So if your friend would've looked to the ground, the game should've displayed the right option.
If you try to do an action right after being hit, I think the game defaults to mending/self-caring at times. Not sure though...
If that's a thing, then it definetely needs a fix.
Actually they can't, because mending overlaps your healing action. Kind of how snap out of it does with healing, repairing generators, clensing and ect. Sorry :(
