We are aware and looking into the issue which caused players to have their rank reset further than intended. If your rank was not reset at all this month, this is a visual bug and closing and re-opening the game should fix it.
We have updated our Forum Rules. Please take a moment to read through them: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/87004/

Escape attempts

Why can’t I attempt to jump off the hook if I’m the last person alive but haven’t been hooked at all?

That's there to prevent the game for taking too long, the last Survivor could just not attempt to escape and waste the Killers time, so it instantly kills you.

And even if it was a thing, the killer would just smack you after you unhook yourself and then he could just pick you up again. (Or wait 60 seconds for the ds to expire)

That's basically the gist of it yeah, if you're the last Survivor alive and you're on the hook than the Killer could just stand there until you kobe and than down you.

If you have DS than they can either wait 60 seconds or just eat it and than down you again, so only in the rare scenarios is this actually something that could help you escape... but not every Survivor that's the last Survivor will kobe off the hook and than DS the Killer to get the hatch... so they just made it so you die automatically.

The only exception to this is when someone is also dying on the hook and you can attempt to kobe off, that's still possible, otherwise if you're the last one alive than you'll automatically die if you get hooked.

Also going off of a 4% chance to kobe is highly against the last Survivor... so in-general it's just to save time.
