No no, people were actually banned for the Legion bug. There was even a notice posted in game as an announcement saying it was bannable.
My point was, i guess, that Legion wasn't any more game breaking than the Wake-Up bug. Yet...the devs didn't punish the people who all of a sudden started running this non meta perk when the bug was happening.
I think what he's saying is, Legion and Wake-up bugs didn't actually take the game hostage. It was still possible for either side to complete the game.
I seriously can't believe people complain about this.
Just sit there and face camp the guy. You have 2 survivors not doing gens. You're not getting punished for sitting near the hook. Don't be a bot and try to hit the guy.
So the point was the legion bug was just as much an exploit as the hook bug because if done properly even bubba's chain saw cant hit through , the difference is how the devs treat it
Hook Tech is not a bug. Its not an exploit. Its called a tech for a reason. Its using the hooked survivor to body block hits from the killer. To think this is an exploit just shows how scrub of a killer you are. Its literally a technique to avoid hits from the killer. when survivors aren't hooked they body block also to prevent other survivors from getting hit. Same principal. How does it suddenly change just because they are hooked. They shouldn't have made hooked survivorrs hittable in the first place I guess. No more hitting survivors when you initially hook them to stop them from screaming. Don't know why people even do this but hey.... HOOK TECH.... Its a technique. Get over it. Stop getting mad at skillful survivors for learning how to counter your stupid face camping and tunneling.
This is such a non-issue lol. Literally you have a minimum of 2 people doing nothing when this happens and when they eventually make a move, it's a guaranteed hook unless you're bad
That's because the Legion bug held the game hostage. Literally forced you to endlessly hold M1 until the killer came to collect you. Seriously, you can't see the difference?
Oh, and I remember survivors getting banned for the bug that allowed them to land on the top of the gen light on McMillan. The killer could not hit them there. I believe both N00b3 and Monto got banned for that one. So calm your hurt feelings.
I’d like to think the hooked person would be more angry that their teammate was essentially farming them. Either way, the faster they die, the less options the hook tech user has.
It's a known exploit for survivors but there's no consequence for doing it? I seem to remember legions broken add ons for stacking mending times. The devs at least said "We're working on it and if your caught doing that you will be banned". I guess it's only report able if it helps killers.
I'm glad to hear their working on it but it still feels like one side is getting special treatment.
The hook tech user user would have no options if they died. And if they were teching off a rando, it still wouldn't accomplish anything by tunneling the other person instead of the tech user. That's like punishing your daughter because her brother hit her in an attempt to teach your son a lesson.
That is your prerogative, not mine. I have no issue with Tunneling when the enemy tries to take advantage of my kindness. My kindness is what prevents me from Tunneling from the start of the match, but if someone wants to take advantage of it, my kindness goes out the window.
Why should I do what the hook tech user wants? They want to unhook the person in front of me to draw my ire so I chase the hook tech user and waste time while their team does gens. Not interested in playing according to their plans.
If the hook-techer is willing to let the hooked survivor hit struggle, he can hold the killer there for up to two minutes while the remaining survivors do gens.
Hook tech is not a bug, but using it is not a "skill" in any way.
Why? Because its caused by Animation Enhancement being bugged. So even though hook tech is not a bug, you are still exploiting a bug, a bug that casuses killer to hit hooked body and not the survivior.
TLDR: hook tech is not a bug, but its caused by bugged "autoaim" that every killer has to use

I mean at the end of the day, any bug is just an oversight.
I don't think they handed out perma bans for the Legion thing at the very least, but not 100% sure of that.
They are definitely selective when it comes to which bugs are ban-worthy, but Killers generally have more of the game-breaking stuff I think.

Banned, but was it a temp ban or a perma ban?
I don't know about everyone, but I know one person who was permanently banned for it.
That's literally holding the game hostage so of course they were banned
And?

Unless you're Oni with your power. Then definitely hit the guy.
Huntress and Bubba can do something about it too, but it's still better to just stand there and wait.
They can, but it's not consistent. Oni does it, 100% of the time, without fail.

Its the two guys that ARE doing the gens that are the problem.
Wouldn't it be more effective to tunnel the one that used the exploit instead of punishing the person that didn't do anything?

Yeah cuz two things on the same place same time is logic lmfao
Using hook-tech is "skillful" now is it? Good to know.
It's not a win-win situation at all.
These discussions would be so much better if the people had at least some basic knowledge about the game.
Hint: Killers "Chaser" Emblem. Rings a bell?

Its sowing discord amongst enemies! I wouldn’t use this technique on family because my family is not my enemy.
Um. Ok? Personally, I hate tunneling. I would not tunnel except as punishment, and I'd rather punish the person that was actually at fault.
It has easy way to counter it though.
Survivor who try to do it is giving killer a free hit

Don’t want me to tunnel? Don’t play like a turd.
