Borrowed Time not working

The killer can be right in front of the person standing in the hook and when i rescue them, borrow time doesn’t take effect and when they are hit they are put in the dying state accept deep wound.

What killer were you facing? Did the Killer have insidious etc?
Sorry but we need a bit more detail about what exactly happened.
If the killer was Ghostface for example with no terror radius, or T1 myers, demogorgon coming out of a portal etc.
It wont activate i think
