Or it's because it's a bug and because theres 1000s of streamers for DBD it's bound to show up on a couple of them, I don't think these guys are "summoning" streamers.
Exactly, it's not. DBD would have less disadvantages in crossplay than something like fortnite where mouse and keyboard would be much stronger. There's no killer vs. killer mode so controller/keyboard input isn't a great factor.
When Windows Store crossplay was introduced, we had the option to "opt out". I'm sure you will still have that option if crossplay happens.
I'm sorry to inform you, but there are as many potatoes playing on PC as there are on console. Are there some really good killers? Yes. I've faced some really good killers on console back when I use to play DBD on console. So unless you think you are "top dog" and worried about getting your ego bruised, it really won't be that big of a deal.
Only a small percentage of PC players are playing on really nice machines that do high FPS. On PC, unless you edit game files, 62FPS is the cap. Most people are still using 1080p monitors and sub 60FPS video cards. The competitive edge that PC can give is not owned by most players. And I'm sure of the people that own nice machines, I'm sure some are still potato as the majority of the player base.
There are still people who think mouse & keyboard players have some advantage against a controller? Back when I was a PC main I only used a controller. It's not that bad. Plus you know when you win it's cause you actually have skill and didn't take the easy way out.
But its not one bug. Its 2 bugs at the same time. First, server thinks you are a killer and lets you get matched, second, you connected to a wrong server/ connected with a wrong identification.
First bug is very rare and is almost always caused by someone intentionally triggering it, and the second is something I have never heard of before, I thought that it can be done only intentionally
I mean, fundamentally, Fortnite should be worse than DBD for crossplay. Being that it's a shooter. So you're not making any real logical argument here.
On the survivor side of DBD, you gain no advantage whatsoever using a mouse and a keyboard vs a controller. Even 360ing is easier on a controller. On the killer side, yeah, killer isn't as easy on a controller, but that wouldn't put the killers from console at a disadvantage because of the aforementioned survivor mouse/keyboard vs controller bit.
The only real thing console people would notice would probably be on the survivor side. 360ing won't work as well for them anymore, and they'll realize Nurse and Huntress aren't low tier killers (like they are on console).
Prove that statement. If platform A doesn’t have enough killers, survivors have long wait times. If platform B doesn’t have enough killers, survivors have long wait times. If they combine, survivors have long wait times. It’s simple math, and common sense.
Since there is only 1 set of dedicated servers, which is shared across all platforms, it is possible for PC players to hack the files and make the servers think that they are playing on a different platform. Consoles can do the same thing, but they need to modify the packets in transit that are being sent to the server.
I don't think that is what is happening, Scott released a video about it today, he wasn't hacked or targetted, it was always different people, and it wasn't the 2x killer glitch because the matches always ended as soon as they started with no killer present
I personally would welcome crossplay to every platform, but only once Consoles get optimised at long last. Currently on Xbox the FPS drops playing certain killers/maps is bad.
Well it WAS the "2 killer glitch", its impossible to have 5 surviviors otherwise.
Match ended immediately because there were 0 killers, same thing would happen if you had 5 killers in a lobby.
Im not sure how could they enable crossplay only for SOME players... Everyone gets the same updates, right?
Hackers were able to do this for a long time, and the "2 killer glotch" gained popularity recently, thats why I think it was it. There is no way to make sure though.
Except two killer matches always load in except with 3 survivors and two killers = the standard 5 players.
This has nothing to do with the double killer glitch, it has nothing to do with hackers because it's different people loading into the lobby all the time.
Also, glitches happen for different people, I play killer A LOT and I've NEVER had the audio bug of not being able to hear a survivor.
And there is a way to make sure because like I've said, 2 killer matches load up and play out just fine, the 5 survivor lobby thing doesn't, it is NOT the 5 killer glitch, or hackers.
Except all the games I've played have cross play enabled by default so if I turn mine off it will only increase que times. Not alot of people on any of 3 consoles want cross-play any time soon so enabling cross would only benefit pc players who want easier games. Also alot of games I've played that have cross-play even when you turn it off you still get qued with pc people & ximmers.
Most of the posts in the past asking for crossplay were from console players.
While it may increase queue times without it active it won't matter as much having it on since the new system is looking to match you with those of equal ability regardless of platform.
I could understand with the current ranking/matmaking as it could make it harder to rank up for some. It's not about easier games as its all changing on who you are matched with.
This is the only reason I am ok with it now as before I was against it.
I'd rather wait an extra minute to find a game that is fair than to find a game where I am at a significant disadvantage solely because of the platform I'm playing on. If they managed to fix the FPS and controller limitations as a killer, sure, I'm all for cross play. But until then, I'd rather play the game knowing I have a fair chance in every game I play.
You aren't really at a disadvantage on console. Yes killer is harder with a controller but you won't be versing another killer so it shouldn't matter. Mouse and keyboard survivors are arguably the ones at a disadvantage compared to survivors on controller.
Console survivors will be in for a shock when they verse the two worst killers in the game though - Nurse and Huntress.
Being consistently near 15-20FPS is a huge disadvantage on it's own. But once you consider how limited the sensitivity is and pair it with the crappy FPS, it becomes a massive disadvantage. So much so that sometimes it's difficult to even land a simple swing. Console survivors would still be at a disadvantage due to the frames too. Console can't even reach what a somewhat decent PC can. I can at least play killer and know my opponent is operating the game roughly the same as I am, which at least makes the game more fair. Like I said, if they were to improve these aspects, there would be no downside.
I think it only matters if you are directly comparing yourself to other killers as killer and other survivors as survivor. On console we a definitely more likely to lose a survivor because of the framerate. But that will be the case whatever format our opponent is on.
I can play DBD on my laptop at a far higher frame-rate on Ultra than my PS4 Pro can manage. It makes no sense when you see how beautiful PS4 God of War is in 4K AND with a decent frame-rate.
Yes you did, on console we are used to these killers being a pushover. Although there are some really good console Nurse and Huntress players, usually you hear the scream or the humming and can expect a nice easy game against somebody who is just doing a daily.

I know you can do that, but it happened WITHOUT changing files. The 5th survivior who played on PC was the streamer, and he didnt do anything.
This means that there must be a way to EDIT theses things on SERVER SIDE, and you can change settings of ANY PLAYER.
You have never seen a flickbilly on console :/
Or, imploring “Occam’s Razor”, it’s simply a server-side bug, which is highly more likely given the circumstances.
I asked a dev on one of there streams and they said it was a known issue ..I don’t know why they just don’t say that right now
I can finally be toxic to my Trusted Members and click my flashlight at y'all! 😍
Please don't kill me :P

I think they just activated crossplay accidentally for some people.

I would also love it, but since I don't wanna waste their time or be annoying, I won't tag them sry :{
If it’s cross play from PS4 and Xbox then no big deal. But pc and console hell nooo.

🤣🤣🤣
I know that some of you PC players are getting a little scared at the prospect of playing console players. Don't worry, we'll go easy on you. 😉
Why are people so sure this would solve the queue time issues? If there’s a shortage of players on one side there will still be a wait.
Are you saying you think survivors outnumber killers in PC but PS is the opposite so it will even out?
I'd rather wait an extra minute to find a game that is fair than to find a game where I am at a significant disadvantage solely because of the platform I'm playing on.
