Killers CAN be overpowered...

Here me out no bait:

If a killer decides to use all the strongest things, he can, in fact, become more powerful than the survivors.

Now, do killers want to play like this? Most want to play killer with chases in mind. The problem is that if a killer plays fair (follows the way the game wants the killer to play), then it is set up for a 1v1.

So in the end, yes: killers can in fact be more powerful. But most dont like that, as it feels not fun to get only brutal killer after getting a 4k.

Tl;dr killers are overpowered when you put on the strongest things.

Yes that is true... I am pretty sure the most of the ppl know that already. So what is now the reason for this post?

Killer with mori would still do well against what is not suppose to be in a game. Survivors on comms.

  • memiiekomemiieko Member Posts: 180

Yeah, that's why Moris are unfun and so are tryhard squads

  • Reborn2020Reborn2020 Member Posts: 1,138

No. Im talking about balance of the game. How come killers still do good against "cheating"? That says much about balance.

  • OtakuFreakOtakuFreak Member Posts: 206

No. Even if a killer brings their best perks, addons and offerings - it is still inferior to the best perks, addons and offerings that a survivor could bring.

Add SWF into the mix and the survivors are the stronger role.

Why would you even listen to what other people telling you to do? Thats your problem.

  • Reborn2020Reborn2020 Member Posts: 1,138

Then you re just bad as you clearly cant think of what those op items can do and cant weaken them all.

  • Reborn2020Reborn2020 Member Posts: 1,138

Silence. I d choose to if i couldnt do anything to disprove someone else s words. Go ahead.

I don't listen to them. I play how I want. #@$% the survivors rule book for killers! I'm only pointing out it's unfair that one sides gets to bring everything at their disposal yet expect the other side to only use "approved" methods.

  • leyzymanleyzyman Member Posts: 353

I mean like doing the ultimate kind of build with, for example, freddy with the ultimate gen defense, slugging at 5 gens and doing bringing the ebony incase someone loves.

Then again, my definition of fun and someone else's is different, so I will edit that part out since that is down to opinion.

Because I have been talking a lot about killers recently. Figured I shouldn't completely ignore the other side when i know it CAN be broken.

So mainly, because i felt like saying killers can do it.

Lol literally impossible for a killer to be op

  • DehitayDehitay Member Posts: 1,596

I was having an internal debate in my head whether an all out killer could really beat all out survivors as I sure remember a number of cases where regularly equipped survivors still managed to stomp me when I brought an ebony mori and yellow addons in trying to get a kill all survivors challenge just because of how short game time can be. I thought your claim was a bit weird, but still theoretically possible. Then you said 5 gen slugging with ebony mori is the strong move and now I know you're just exaggerating without thinking things through logically.

Except right now Killers are weaker than Survivors in 1v1 situations. Survivors have all control. They choose when a pallet drops, they can choose where the chase goes, and ultimately they can ignore upwards to 11-12 mistakes they make with ease. The only way a good survivor can get caught is if s/he chooses to, and the only "Killers" that can stop that are ones that can ignore looping mechanics.

I don't buy into all these unwritten rules. There's no wrong or right way to really play. Obviously not counting things that come under griefing.

Just have fun. It's a game at the end of the day and like I've said plenty of times before, if you find yourself becoming really annoyed when playing, just take a break. You shouldn't let something that is supposed to be enjoyable become the opposite.

    This is way too vague.

What are the killers BEST tools. Moris?

Moris mostly stomp because survivor run into a match thinking they got 3 hooks and then get surprised and fragged by it. An ebony mori dosen't end chases and it dosen't assure a hook and it dosen't assure that even if you hook someone you'll down them a second time.

What a killers best is varies from killer to killer. Iridescent Seal or Rule 2 are both junk and pretty much a wasted addon slot unless I'm memeing around or got some weird obscure build idea for example.

IF ....you play exclusively as the best killer like nurse or billy....and you have a VERY GOOD build. And you put yourself on a killer sided map. Yes. A killer may be overpowered if they also slug and proximity camp and they get survivors without comms.

But the real power of the game comes about in who actually controls the game. A killer can only gain control of the game by quickly and swiftly either out right stomping the survivors that momentum comes on his side, in which case I garuntee you that killer had to sweat his balls off for that unless the survivors are lagging or made a long series of mistakes over and over in his favor.

B: used a mori early at the cost of points to gain a momentum.

C: They tunnel the [BAD WORD] out of someone and then maybe do so again for good measure.

The problem isn't that killer is OP. Killer is underpowered, at least in the area it matters most, in the feeling of having power since they have no control over the time of the game and the game time is never on their side. Not unless they're going to waste perk slots for stuff that 3 gen pause for a short while, have massive maintence(Hex ruin/blood warden) or is meta-gamed easily out(blood warden). There's always a sacrefice or a massive...silly amount of work just to not feel under pressure...as the power role.

Which is the biggest problem killers always had with this game. Killer feel more scared of survivors and gens that survivors do of killers or the world.

It all comes down to assyemtrical skill.

It's easy and breezy to m1 a gen in a mad rush and it's easy to loop around a safe area. It's not easy to pressure 4 people even with the best tools you have and the best killer trying to desperately stop the invisible clock ticking to another gen will scream that you failed to apply enough magical pressure. It's easy to run to another pallet and camp at it then butt dance. It's not easy to have to come up with some mad 4D chees mind games with your stain and trying fake out a survivor with every tiny little flinch or flick of your character to hopefully make them make one mistake so you can get a hit while another 2 gens pop.

Mori are a problem but if they get nerfed anymore they should just straight up be something your killer can do rather than third hook. It might as well be the same [BAD WORD]. I ain't wasting a offering spot for an additional 500 BP and a animation.

Only a couple killers have addons that make them "overpowered" though. 95% of the killer rosters addons do not fit that criteria. Even those very small cases I wouldn't call them overpowered depending what they were up against, IE SWF as one example.

Fair enough. I do say things without thinking sometimes.

I mean, Clown by far is the worst killer in the game. He's literally a worse vanilla, perkless Freddy.

Though, if you stick Red Head's Pinky Finger on him, Clown becomes suddenly very lethal.

Which doesn't matter though... Because you'll never pip if your entire gimmick is one-hit downs.

What am i going to do against 4 man swf on comms with bnps and a key? I will just think how to play around that :?

I will bring ebony mori for sure. And i will create a build around mori. So lets say they only need to fix a few gens for hatch to open and then they can escape okay...

I need to bring something that wont allow them to fix gens effectively so im going to bring Corrupt Intervention and Ruin . Also whispers maybe? to find them fast and whether or not to decide leaving a 90% progressed gen. And the last perk would be? Haunted grounds? Just in case. Okay.

So after hooking two survivors i can easily kill them i assume and i need to prevent them only from fixing 3 gens not to mention they will also have to find a hatch after that. And Billy is good on any map so dont give me that crap. And if nowdays killers struggle to win with these conditions they are simply bad.

I follow a simple Killer Rule:

"If survivors aren't going to hold back on their builds and tactics, why should you?"

I'm the guy that sees a 4 man SWF load up in the lobby with toolboxes, flashlights, keys, and decides its time to break out the Iridescent Head hatchets. For the most part I play pretty normal and have some casual fun, but on weekends, when there are more survivors playing and SWF groups queuing up, the kid gloves come off. Killers most certainly can be OP, and can abuse builds that show it, but for the majority of the time there really isn't a need to do so. I have no qualms with responding to the challenge survivors present with as equal and opposing force as I am able using the in game mechanics, nor will I ever feel guilty about bringing in OP builds against an SWF team with full meta builds or items... They're probably used to winning with such builds/tactics, so it's Healthy to remind them that this isn't their personal "bully simulator" every once in a while.

If the survivors are perkless, but if you add the strongest survivor items, perks, offerings and swf survivor becomes way much powerfull
