Would it be good if there was more than 5 Totems?

At the moment i play the new Deathslinger with Devour Hope. But everytime it gets such a obvious spot. Also sometimes i think it would be really cool if there would be 2-3 Totems more and a bit better hidden. Maybe in exchange for faster totem destroy speed?

    No. I'm all for Hex totems respawning on a dull totem if available, which would incentivize breaking them and relieving gen pressure, but adding more is too much. Survivors complain about 5 and NOED, imagine the meltdown over 10.

    Based on my own experience, I'd say no. Destroying all the totems is really a team effort, and when there's only one person doing totems while the other 3 are blatantly ignoring the totems to do gens, it's a middle finger to the one survivor if they manage to destroy 4 of the totems and NOED still activates.

    I think the number of totems is fine. Putting them in more hidden spots isn't a bad idea, though.

    Survivors are already too lazy to cleanse totems, and blame NOED on the killer instead of their lack of due diligence. Let's give them more totems. I'm sure they'll be able to handle that.

    Survivor main here, would love more totems. Along with an increase in totems killers could get some offerings(or it could be baked into the hex perks, w/e best solution is) that let their hex jump to a new dull totem 'x' amount of times to make em last longer (imo a better way than trying to hide them really well).

    At the same time survivors could get some more perks that activates on cleansing totems. I love Inner strength but some games its a race to even get one activation with only 5 totems available.

    If noed didn't exist then sure we could have more totems...but noed is a thing.

    I think it should be an offering issue like fog. Only this would matter. Killers can put an offering to have more totems, and survivors can offer one for fewer. Each level of the offering could increase or decrease the number by 2, but the base number of totems would have to increase so that there are never less than 3. Personally I am all for this idea of more totems. But I’d also like to see skill checks added to totems, and the entity penalizes you for missing a skill check by reversing your controls and revealing your aura to the killer for 10-15 seconds.

    More Totems = less time used on cleansing them.

    Especially as Solo it is already really difficult to make sure that 5 Totems are cleansed, especially on some of the new or reworked Maps. It is not easy to find 5 Totems on Badham or Hawkins for example. But if there would be more than 5 Totems, it would be even more unlikely that all get cleansed. And because of this, people would cleanse less Totems. Lets say there would be 10 Totems, I would not bother cleansing them. Usually I cleanse every Totem I find, but with 10 Totems it is highly unlikely that all Totems are gone at the end of the game, so I dont need to waste 14 seconds for some Boldness Points.

    You can compare it to Self Care with the Healing Nerf - people spend a longer time doing something (healing/Totem Cleansing) so they wont do it and will stick on Gens.

    The only advantage would be that NOED will activate more often, but I dont think if it should be the goal that the biggest training wheel of Killer players gets more use.

    The devs could reduce totems to 3 and survivors would complain it's op.
