The Deathlinger is a bad Huntress ! Deep Wound useless, unplayable on highranks & Survivor exploit

PNgamerPNgamer Member Posts: 1,415

Hello,

don´t get me wrong but: In my opinion his deep wound mechanic is useless. Maybe it was working on a paper but not ingame. Specially on Highranks. A 110% speed killer with abslo. no bonus mobility ? He is very week & gentimes are still pathetic. Also that survivor exploit atm .... ( you can´t hit them with your shoot & i don´t want to say more about that exploid atm )

Fakt is: In my opinion, he is a bad Huntress and im rly regret that ive buyed Chains of Hate

sry for my bad english

    I think

I think he reffers to getting in the middle of the chain to speed up it breaking. I think its not an exploit, but the survivor should get injuried by doing that, not the other way around, where the chain is the "weakest". LOL

No it isn't. Like 90% of my red rank games I've 3 or 4k'd with him, and I still think he's trash. Survivors control his power more than him, has 0 map pressure, his power is super buggy and hitboxes are cancer, etc. He is absolutely the worse of the 2 ranged killers, and it isn't even close.

I have better luck playing him than huntress. Sure he isn't as good as a skilled huntress could be, but I play him somewhere around ranks 3-5 and I don't feel bullied all the time. My experience is purely my own though, I can't change how other players feel about him.

and yet you 3k or 4k with him in 90% of your red rank games. Idk, sounds pretty balanced.

He's some donkey ass on ps4. His shots don't even hit when you have them dead in the sights, and he's more easily looped than Bubba and Billy put together. If you get a big map, get ready to get royally ######### repeatedly. He needs either a buff to his base speed, or insta-down harpoons when there injured. Quit dangling something good in front of are faces, then giving us a shell. Give us another good killer like freddy, gf, Billy, spirit, etc. Quit giving us a bunch of legions man...

Imo the shot should always cause a wound, and a deep wound. So even if they are already injured you shoot them with the harpoon and break the chain they still fall down. Then the chain becomes more to position a survivor; away from a vault/pallet, away from the exit gate, or away from the hatch for example.

Who did I accuse of anything? Everything I said about his power is 100% accurate.

I’d say Deathslinger is more comparable to spirit then huntress. Both spirit and Deathslinger have powers that are ridiculously strong in a chase and can end one in seconds, but because of their strong chase power they are weaker when it comes to pressuring multiple survivors. I can understand why people think he is weak. We are currently in the gen rush meta of the game and many people are prioritizing killers who can pressure gens like Hillbilly and Freddy while also running gen slowdown perks like pop, ruin, etc. So when this killer comes out and people see that he has no map pressure, people are quick to say “make him 115 speed” while completely ignoring how strong he is in a chase. I’d say once maps get smaller and/or if the devs find a way to fix gen speeds, people will finally see how insane this killer is.

To be honest I think the deathslinger is fine I used to main freddy but post deathslinger I'm able to get 3k or 4ks more times them no ks also I think these problems you all are having is more Your play style I'm a good deathslinger because I play him as a stealth killer with a stealth build he easily becomes a way better Myers with better ability to sneak up on survivors doing gens or anything really then snipe them off it I've found thus strat to be good as far as applying "pressure" it's just like applying pressure with any other killer except you have range to keep everyone injured and constantly mending whuch in turn keeps them off gens I think deathslinger gets a bad rep but he has a very high skill cap and a lot of interesting ways he can be played

And this is as a rank 4 killer and survivor usually being paired with a few rank ones

The Deathslinger's deep wound timer is *thirty seconds* - the longest in the game, to a point where it can be ignored to open an exit gate.

TheDeathslinger's projectile travels at the speed of a fully charged hatchet throw, but has a much smaller hitbox. This makes some hits easier, while others are much more challenging. Because the Deathslinger cannot down a survivor without hitting them rather than doing a chain break, there are many parts of the map where the Deathslinger's power is entirely useless against an injured survivor. The Deathslinger's smaller TR can be helpful, but their 115% movement speed, and need to reload after every shot, result in them having longer times to down compared to other 110s, and they are tied for the lowest mobility killer in the game, alongside The Huntress, who can still down survivors faster.

The Deathslinger's two Irridescent add-ons are both terrible. The Irridescent coin only lets you get one-shots on survivors that where speared from 15m away (the maximum range is 18m on the speargun, meaning you're going to be very lucky to proc it at all), and then requires that you also manage to reel them that entire distance, with any objects in the general vicinity (including another survivor) making that impossible. The Hellshire Iron gives information in a fairly area (24 radius), and is near-useless when coupled with one of the Deathslinger's best perks, Monitor and Abuse, as the area would then shrink to a meager 16m. While you're occupied with a speared survivor.

The Deathslinger suffers from significant time loss for using their power. Where the Huntress always gains time compared to M1ing by throwing hatchets, the deathslinger suffers from a 2.75 second reload, 0.5 second firing animation, 0.125 second ADS animation, (totaling 3.375 seconds so far) PLUS however long it takes for them to reel their victim in, leading to lots of wasted time they can't avoid.

Deathslinger is also currently suffering from a bug where he will sometimes be permanently crammed into the "reeling" state, even after the survivor he shot (who is only speared on the killer's screen) has left the trial. During this time he can only basic attack, is forced to face the survivor he is reeling, and moves painfully slowly. He cannot pick up survivors, open exit gates, break pallets, vault windows, or regress generators. Being stunned, blinded, and hitting or downing survivors does not break this.
