Good question, right?
It's not that I would quit this game, it's good entertainment.
But I have been playing 75% less than last year.
I haven't bought anything since August. I'd like to see fair changes, rather than unfair ones. I want to see changes that both sides can say "I like this."
Map changes, useless perk changes, we gotta buff weak killers to change the meta, give killers more incentive to play killer since we've lost so many.
I'd rather watch someone on Twitch play this than play it myself.
space coconut should just drop the game atp. the game clearly absorbed him, he's not enjoying it anymore, he feels frustrated, it already become a toxic relationship.
Would really be a loss if one of the most biased persons would quit. /s
I play bc I enjoy the game even if the devs are making horrible choices
If you want to quit, just quit. Simple as that. The game is fillied with cry babies.
'Unistalling, i want to quit' Baits all the time. Just quit already.
Meh if you don't enjoy the game then yes, maybe put it away for a while. Personally i just take things as they come, I'm not so invested that I let things frustrate me too often whichever side I play.
Well first of all I do think that BHVR is a bit too slow on balancing and fixing bugs. The sound bug is the prime example of this. I also hate that Hangamn's trick was nerfed to the ground, and that Gearhead or Surge was nerfed from the ptb.
But I personally find this video overly daramtic. Now to me personally this guy who made the video is pretty killer biased anyways, so I often have a hard time agreeing with him. This game certainly deserves criticism though, not doubt, but I don't think it's nearly as bad as this guy makes it out to be.
The devs aren't just ignoring feedback though. It's just that certain balance problems are hard to solve. Increasing survivors objective time isn't as simple as extending gen times or adding a second objective to the game. The devs would have to consider much more, like camping and tunneling becoming too good, or certain killers and certain killer addons becoming way overpowered.
Again, BHVR does deserve criticism in my opinion. But accusing them of not caring at all about the game and it's community is just a bit ridiculous in my opinion. People have different observations and opinions on what is balanced anyways, and to me this guy seems quite biased towards killers. The game definitely has too many unbalanced maps and weak killers though, that's for sure, but the game also has balanced maps and good killers, that can keep up with fast gen times.
However, if you do feel like this game is not fun anymore, of course quitting or at least taking a break is a good idea. Just don't expect the devs to balance the game around your opinions and viewpoints only. It's easy to say that the devs are not caring for the game because they don't listen to feedback that I agree with, and to changes I think should happen in this game, but that's ignoring the fact that the devs normally receive a lot of very different feedback from different players.
Sabo is a good example, some people said it should be nerfed, but honestly it didn't really end up overpowered at all. But of course, I can accuse the devs for not caring about their players because they didn't listen to people who said that sabo would be too good because I agree with that feedback. But that's just ridiculous.
Nobody can precisely say what exactly is perfect balance in this game and what not. Sometimes, if you think something is unbalanced based on own experience, it might just be because of you, not the game's balanced. Some people who say killers are way underpowered might just not be that good yet, or can't stand the fact that they sometimes get outplayed and lose a match, for example.
To be fair that's very hard to do though. That's one of the biggest challenges the devs probably have. Finding changes both sides will like. If one side gets buffs, it's safe to assume some people that main the opposing side won't be happy with those buffs. Of course there are definitely balance changes the devs can and should implement that will most likely please the vast majority, but it's never that easy to do. People have varying opinions on what killer and what map is perfectly balanced for example, or whether gens are too fast or not or if map design is the main problem of the game.
I had same :/ In monday i decided to make break from game probably for long
i mean who cares about what coconut thinks?
hes right that the devs are slow and they aren't addressing some issues, but if he quits, he quits
if you're going to quit, then quit, stop talking about it and just do it *insert shia lebouf*
Spacecoconut is leaving? About time.
If you want to leave, just leave, dont throw a tantrum everywhere you want because you dont like the decisions the devs take, or, if you want to make your tantrum, make it and then leave. Its honestly pathetic how many people think "im uninstalling" is a legit threat.
If the devs haven't changed after three and a half years, they probably never will.
This game is pure enigma. Great basics and concept. Piss poor developers that leave bugs for months and don't understand their own game. Severely toxic community. Yet, when you find that right mix of good killer and survivors without the toxicity it can be loads of fun.
Just a shame they can't pull their heads out of their arses and do some good work.
I can see why they say this.
Had a break myself years ago, did wonders as i then played more moderately (though not just a little bit after each chapter release, more than that), and that has kept me in the game for years now without additional breaks.
As for wanting to return to the game, well, that'd depend on what you feel during your break.
I don't really consider whether the devs care or not, i just ask myself: Am i still having fun?
Answer's still yes, so i stay.
Ah, another killer quitting and more toxic surv mains telling them "goodbye, see you later, quit already, etc, etc". When are you gonna learn that's not the answer. Obviously these people are frustrated and are venting with some ray of hope that some dev ACTUALLY GIVES a #########. You do realize if more killers continue to quit, there won't be any game left to play. You'll all just sit in que hell forever waiting with that same ray of hope that a person will FINALLY decide to play killer instead of survivor. What a community! 🤦♂️
Killer Mains won't ever say that they like something for survs until swf is away because killer mains think "swf is unfair" or no. True talent fans think that. Because he's a killer main and he's only talking trash
Weird, I never heard of that person.
its not that they don’t listen. But it’s impossible for a game developer to possible sift through all of the entitled whining of people thinking the game should be the way THEY personally want it. And those are the people RUINING the game and threatening its very existence.... everyone wants it THEIR WAY, killers want this, survivors want that. And it’s IMPOSSIBLE... because EVERYTIME the devs do take feedback (may not be yours) and change something... y’all STILL cry about it
I don't wanna be that guy, buuuuuut
last year is already out and not doing so hot, I forgot about that RE game, in case you're not aware though, people have said literally every game in the same genre would kill dbd and here we are almost 4 years later and the game is still going
I have quit, the focus on boosting survivor players demands and crys for attention in a 1V4 , you know, asymmetric, 1 killer, 4 survivors, but the Devs have made it urgent and essential to listen to the thoughts and emotions of the survivor player base.
Agreed, been watching his videos for a long time he should play other stuff and tone dbd down a bit
I don't really see the point in sending that. He's not complaining about a game that went the wrong way or anything. So really that has no relevance here
Ok and. Play the damn game or dont
They care it's just hard to balance an asymmetrical game. However that hook changes was a bit too much. 30 seconds for all respawn is too quick. I think it should have been at most half of what it was. Plus the toolbox is useless at this point now. Next thing i see coming are key and flash light changes. It's getting harder to enjoy a game that shifts being one-sided in either direction. I still play because it's fun but much less so. Also hit boxes lol. Take a page from Friday and use those. They work beautifully.
You obviously don't watch his stuff enough or pick and choose and give your own interpretation of it. He's honest and legit on both sides and I watch just as many surv vids of his as I do killer. It's more entertaining to watch him play and analyze than face get bullied and deal with the toxicity from every side. I'm not a fanboy by any means but you can piss off with that statement.
He mayu be a.killer main but he looks at both sides. More recently i feel he is in the right on this. Killers are told to constantly "git gud" and just deal with game changes when, in reality some things DO need to be changed. Im not saying what should be changed or how, but even as a noob killer I can see where the frustration sets in during matches and where people see the devs as being biased. When you include reasons for nerfs and changes you have to be careful with your wording, changing a perk because of "survivor fun" or "killer challenge" only go so far until people notice the same phrases popping up over and over
Well I care because I actually play and enjoy the game lol... Sooo how can I not care? If I don't care for something I don't play it.
The Resident Evil game that isn't out yet because it comes bundled with RE3? Just the fact that it comes with the main game will probably be enough for people to play it...
