Not the way I want to play the game

NickeleyeNickeleye Member Posts: 219

I have been a killer main for about 6 months now. I moved to the killer role because playing survivor gets boring .

Being a survivor main first definitely had an effect on the way I played killer. I always BBQed away from hooks to find the next survivor. I avoided slugging because I have been on the receiving end and it just sucks. Laying on the floor bleeding out or being tunneled off first hook is a miserable experience for survivors.

The past few weeks has been the worst time I have ever had playing DBD. If I play straight up it's almost always entity displeased or maybe brutal.

In my frustration I started camping, slugging and tunneling the past few days. Tunnel the first guy to make it 3 v 1. Proxy camp and slug from there and the game goes my way the majority of the time. I pip pretty regularly this way. Black pip at worst.

Is this future of the game? Camp, tunnel, and slug every game to be viable as a killer.

I have even noticed the top killer main streamers are using these strategies more and more. If someone who plays the game for a living has to play this way. What option does a 8 hour a week killer have?

I know survivors are always on the boards complaining about these tactics. At this point in time what choice does a killer have? It's either Play straight up so they can have a good time or be a douche so I can be viable.

This is not the way I want to play the game.

There isn't much you can do unless you're a killer who can end chases quickly or can apply a massive amount of pressure. Now there are other ways, but sometimes camping and tunneling is required to win games as much as I dislike it occurring when I'm playing survivor.

if this isnt the way you want to play the game, you should play the game this way even if it seems like its impossible in any other way.

I also was a Survivor main for over a year but i am getting a Killer main more n more.

I dont camp and i always try to not tunnel. Sometimes i slug if i see someone else but not just to look for someone else. I still get almost everygame 3-4 kills and i have many perfect games. (Red ranks btw)

I know some matches can be really frustrating but dont give up. Just try your best. Play however you want and how its the most fun for you.

I play at red ranks myself and I dont even 2K when I play fair. Not even close. I'm in awe that you 3-4K almost every game playing it straight up. I just find that gens go so quick. By the time I chase down and hook each survivor once there is normally just 1 maybe 2 gens left.

I would love to play the game the way it is most fun for me. Unfortunately, the way I want to play is not fun anymore because I'm getting my teeth kicked in constantly.

I can destroy survivors If I camp, tunnel, or slug. But I just dont get any enjoyment out of the game that way.

At the end of the day I really love this game. I just feel like I'm being forced to play like a douche or accept the fact that I'm going to be t bagged by 3 survivors at the exit gates.

Well, how about playing the game properly like other players can do? No? Thats sad.

  • NickeleyeNickeleye Member Posts: 219

That's a fact! Survivors dont care that your playing the game in the way that gives them the opportunity to enjoy the game and pip.

Thanks for not camping, tunneling, or slugging. Here is some t bags to show my appreciation.

Sadly it is. Unless is a top killer, you have to tunnel, slug and tryhard and sometimes even with the top tiers. I do not like to tunnel either as it feel horrible for the survivor but those sweaty SWF don't leave you another choice. And they deserve it. I do not think the same about solos.

The game needs an overhaul and a change for the killer experience to be enjoyable.

You should not be limited to playing a certain way, but you have to because the game is unbalanced and broken for killers.

So i dont see any meaningful posts in this forum, just rants and unlogical complains on killer side. No useful critisism or feedback. Nothing but every day the same lack of game sense. So i have to clear out this nonsense in every new thread til players like them will understand how wrong theyre.

you probably dont play killer enough so you think they are just unlogical complains, either that or you are just too dumb or survivor sided that you dont want to accept it

It's probably for the best that you don't take the bait. Happens too much on this forum and people get way too heated at others who just want to provoke a reaction.

Funny thing is how many more people see issues with it than those that do not.

I hate survivors that t-bag. I have rooted for the killer to get teammates that do that and even blocked one once in hopes they got killed. Just win respectfully and if the killer let you actually go then be nice. =)

I am surprised that the last two big patches didn't nerf survivors in a way that gave the power back to the Killer role. With triple A game companies sitting around the corner going to jump into the asymetrical market I would have sooner thought the dev's wanted to keep their Killer fanbase in the game. With barely a month left before the first game hits RE: Resistance, I doubt BHVR even has time now to fix the game before they lose a lot of players.

Sad part is there is nothing but Solo players on the platform I play and YET killers still camp or tunnel about 65% of the time. It ruins the experience for both killer and survivor in my opinion. It cannot be fun just standing there watching a person die and that player on the hook also is having no fun. It also takes away the fun of trying to save the fellow teammate. In the end I agree play how you want but I know when I play killer I don't care if I kill 4 or 0 people as long as I have fun. =)

What you are highlighting is how a lot played even before the recent changes.

While some yes did use certain perks or addons on specific killers to not tunnel or camp many did and this just made certain things even stronger for them.

The other thing is the matchmaking. The issue is ranking has always been easy for both sides and it was made that way to help with queue times. While it should also pit players against those who present a challenge it doesn't work out well at all. Maybe being red ranks has always been so easy that we can all feel entitled to still playing there even if we shouldn't be.

Then we have the emblems which force players to do certain things which again means punishing certain strats wasn't as viable to pip. This started the "rank" doesn't matter phrase being thrown around. While it may not to some some do care about it.

It's clear the devs have tried to promote more fair play before making any changes but that was always going to be dependant on the players. Some will always take advantage of what they can do.

The only real way forward then for any major chnages such as an extra objective is to highly punish camping, slugging and tunelling making them non viable so that the game itself can be slowed down. Without that slowing it down will just make those strats even stronger. It's a bit of a catch 22 as if they do punish them then some will not be happy and shout bias only seeing it affecting how they want to play.

I feel sorry for those that do think they need to play in a way which they find not fun themselves. Overall its a hard one to balance as a win condition has always been up to what the players deem it to be.
