There’s a lot of people who bait and troll and it’s getting quite annoying to look at the general discussion and see the same title 5x in a row.
While I agree it would be nice to have that feature, we all know people would abuse it. Anytime someone posted something that didn't support your opinion, someone would mute them. Rather than argue about it, some people like to pretend nothing is wrong. It's like that south park episode about deleting all the negative comments and then hanging Reality :P
Yes that’s true I’m talking about people who post obvious bait and are extremely obnoxious
This is a forum. Why even post something if only the people who support your opinion can talk about it?
It's like the Make Lobbies Great Again. Great idea but people were miss using it.
I think a "hide this thread" option would be relatively harmless for people to clean up stuff but I think a "mute this user" option kinda creates an environment where many conversations and replies just aren't being seen by other people.
The forum would turn into an echo chamber for you then, which would then bolster the idea that you think what you complain about is what the majority of people think needs to change in the game, which wouldn't be true at all
I'd much rather just have a "hide this thread" option. Muting entire accounts could make threads very confusing if someone you muted made a post everyone's suddenly talking about, I'd assume you could still see their posts in quotes anyway and some people would genuinely use it to just block out anything they disagree with.
And how would you definitively prove that? You would be walking a very fine line based on personal assumptions.
I do understand your frustration though.
this game's community is very sheltered despite being a game where you kill people lmao
I'm here to murder people in the name of an all-powerful ancient entity, not get my feelings hurt. :(
I'm sure most people wouldn't have a problem with people like that being blocked and hidden, but it's the same issue as with any other blocking system. There's plenty of people that will use it far more... liberally than that. Either just because they don't want to see people disagreeing with them, or because they've seemingly legitimately convinced themselves that anyone that disagrees with them is by definition "trolling".
