Due to latency issues in the PTB, we have decided to postpone the server hit validation test until after the update releases on the live version of the game. We will let you know when the test will take place as soon as we can. Thank you all for your patience.

One solution against campers?

What if when the killer is close to a hooked survivor for to long, he starts to get auto blind. That will probably avoid camping and the killer would have to leave the area, or even if he stays, survivors have a better chance to get the team mate out of the hook.

Well if it is a letherface, good luck with that lmao

The only real solution to this is to give the person on hook distraction points. Like 10% of bps earned by all other survivors. Something like that. Punishing the camper directly as yoire suggesting is always going to lead to abuse

Dont get caught. Thats your solution.

Peanits has already stated several times nothing will be changed regarding camping on the forum threads as well.

Either hook trade, struggle for the team, BT and DS out. Either way the Devs have stated it wont be changed. Your just beating a dead horse it's time to drop it and move on.

    Solution for campers:

Survivors on the hook can now SCREAM. They do this by pushing the active button. Screaming will signify to teammates that the killer is STILL IN THE AREA and not to come for them. Screaming gives survivors an audio notification. This does nothing to the killer.

The creator of this post (my friend) has a very cool and dynamic hat.

He also isn't quite sure how to deal with camping, but he's getting the hang of it xD

That's two perks that have 0% effect if I decided to facecamp someone.

  • MrCookieMrCookie Member Posts: 121

Yep, let's just give free kindred just because some people can't do gens or don't have BT. Surely nothing wrong with that.

That's why doing gens is the answer. Though unless you are bubba you can't really prevent BT if the team commits to that.

It's an extremely nerfed Kindred, where you can't see the killer's aura or the other survivors aura. It's ridiculous that anyone would have a problem with this solution.

  • OrionOrion Member Posts: 15,328

It's arguably the most useful aspect of Kindred - knowing if the killer is camping.

  • KingFrostKingFrost Member Posts: 951

It really isn't. The most useful aspect of Kindred is knowing whether your teammates are going for the save or not. One person going for the save instead of two or three people going for the save, are more people on generators wasting less time. The second most useful aspect of Kindred is knowing the general direction the killer is headed. That's a HUGE advance warning that not even Spine Chill can tell you faster. It also lets you know which side of the map is safer, and which is more dangerous.

Knowing if the killer is camping or not only really matters if the answer is YES, they are camping. All the other information gathered by kindred is useful even against killers who leave the hook. (Not to mention if they start booking it, you can tell they probably have Devour Hope)

How about a boost to luck for the Kobe. Increase the luck from 3% up 2% for each second the Killer is within a couple of meters for the hook.

  • finitethrillsfinitethrills Member Posts: 402

If the killer is hard camping, what is a kobe supposed to do for you?

As with just about 99% of suggestions that involve some effect on the killer, it's easily abused by the remaining Survivors, constantly running the killer back to the hook and looping the area to cause the effect on a killer that's not actually camping. Same thing that happened with the pausing hook time.

There is no solution to camping that isn't either a) unfairly punishing to a killer who isn't "camping for effect" but being forced or encouraged to be at the hook by Survivors, b) easily avoidable due to some mitigating mechanic designed to make it not punish "a", or c) will be completely ignored by the hard Campers because they don't care about indirect punishments like losing bps.

The only way to STOP hook camping is making Survivors die on the first hook. And then you'll need to spend another several months trying to find a solution for "slug camping"

the only type of camping that should be adressed is chainsaw face camping because there is literally 0 chance of doing something against it. and buba face camp should get adressed because billy can get just one person at time, leatherface can kill multiple people and also can gen an extra tantrum by hitting the hooked survivor.

    do gens

  • finitethrillsfinitethrills Member Posts: 402

Yet, he can't kill 3 people if they're not at the hook and doing gens like they should be. Bubba still loses when he camps.

While every survivor is an individual, the Survivors as a whole fight the killer. Losing one is like having one arm wounded in a game. Just continue on without it.

There's a portion of Campers who will never stop camping. There's even more who really try not to camp, but occasionally just get stuck with it because Survivors can't keep it in their pants for 10 seconds while they leave. There's even yet more who camp a lot because, for some reason, Survivors can't help but feed them endless points and kills for next to no reason.

For as much as Survivors claim killers just want a 4k every game, it sure seems like they're the ones that can't bear to walk out the door minus one member.

being a good face camping covering job means messing around and falling down the hill?

literally, just use bt or ds, do hard trades when the person is near the next phase, use unbreakable if he follows the unhooked. You have 1 minute of free gen progression while he camps you.

  • ZFennecFoxZFennecFox Member Posts: 352

Assuming you run DS like 80% of the playerbase you get a stun to stun the Killer. Combo that with DeadHard they can't insta throw you on the hook. If your lucky with DeadHard.

Or you could just reveal the aura of the killer after 10-15 seconds...

  • OutcastEricOutcastEric Member Posts: 346

what if the killer sees scratch marks right after hooking the person and knows as soon as they leave the person gets a free rescue? not going to happen. in that scenario, which there are many different ones, its the survivors fault not the killers.

  • RizeAkiRizeAki Member Posts: 424

    How about do gens?

We don't need a solution for camping, we need a solution for WHY killers camp. The answer to that is game balance.

Camping is not the sickness, it's simply a symptom of the real problem.

Even with this said, "camping" happens way, way less than people like to exaggerate. Most the time survivors scream camping, it's not.
