I keep seeing people complaining about the upcoming changes and a lot of "just wait for the ptb, devs will listen if we don't like it"
hum.... when did that ever happen?
Certainly not a week before it even goes live.
Edit: Okay, to answer this question seriously, here’s a list of killers that have received changes in recent times in response to player feedback:
That's why most the people are much more critical on the forums during and before PTBs...because it doesn't happen.
When the dev's announce some day that all survivors will go down in one shot on the next PTB, I look forward to seeing these same people saying we need to wait and see how it goes. It doesn't matter how big or small the change is, people deserve to be able to give their thoughts especially when we already have video footage of the changes in action.
Back when Legion could moonwalk people to death and do damage to people's Mend timer by Frenzy hitting them, the devs buffed Frank's Mixtape so you could down people even quicker with either of the above 'strategies'.
People lost their [BAD WORD] during the PTB and the change was scrapped.
That said, I suppose there's no way of knowing whether or not the devs did that themselves or because people said stuff about it.
i mean more in terms of "hey community doesn't like this, lets not add this"
In the ptb? He's asking: when have the ptb changes been done away with due to community feedback? I'm still waiting for that Hangman's revert. It was perfect in the Deathslinger ptb, and they screwed it beyond belief when it went live.
Ok so they didn't buffed the PH perks after the PTB. lol ok.
What happened to Soul Guard btw? Did it become Meta?
(Just because I see you here)
People bitch that they don't listen pretty much because they don't take their ideas and use them.
Their ideas? More like they don’t listen to the community when it comes to balance decisions.
the only thing I remember was ptb nemesis or beast of prey Legion, during Oni's ptb. They changed for the 5th time deep wound, they will never admit how that mechanics sucks.
Don't worry it isn't a DBD thing, every game does it.
Warframe announces a frame with an absolute garbage skill set 6 months in advance and no matter how reasonably you state that the abilities do nothing of value you'll be shouted down with "YOU CAN'T POSSIBLY KNOW IT'S BAD BEFORE YOU TRY IT YOURSELF."
Lo and behold it comes out and it's a steaming turd.
People need to recognise that many people can actually understand the implications of changes before trying it hands on, whether they think it's good or bad. Personally I think these changes are a major improvement to the health and balance of the game, both for Billy and Bubba.
Now, go cry all you want about ruin, but it was a completely necessary change and the devs did good on not listening to the massive amount of whiners on the forums and reddit.
The thing is, people are not really discussing, they are throwing death sentences to the game and insults to the devs. Always being able to perfectly predict how the changes will ruin the game (which in the fewest occurrences so far is the case, see for example how meta Soul Guard, Sabo and For The People became)
It was not perfect on PTB, it was half map wide aura reading on PTB. It was BBQ without range minimum
For the SWF death squads, yeah, i'd say so. I never thought it would be meta for random solo's and what not.
Not sure how that relates to the topic here though.
Oh, the Ruin nerf is necessary in THIS current gamestate. But during the time when it did get nerfed, it simply wasnt time yet. Ruin should have been old Ruin until they reworked the maps. Even then, new Ruin is hot garbage because I cant use it with Pop. They should have done something different instead of passive regression.
Oh don't trip, they listen... ONLY when people say "good job devs I like what you did" then they listen and say "thanks, alright we keep it this way".
But critical feedback and asking for changes will get ignored as if they never existed, no matter how reasonable and logical the argumentation is. They don't even discuss it on streams most of the time.
People who say "wait for PTB" are either new, blinded hardcore dbd fanboys or people you could fool more than twice with the same trick.
yawn you missed Pyramid Head mate
Recently devs did indeed listen to the community and changed some perks from the recent 4.0.0 PTB and also in a hotpatch removed the auras (Which was actually mentioned alot in these very forums) from cages
hum.... that change didn't came due to the ptb, it came as a hotfix after the dlc went live
There are sooooo many things in this game that were the community's idea. I've seen people suggest perks in the feedback forum and they become perks later. Feedback suggested in the forums is definitely listened to.
When survivors cry. That's when they listen.
In the 4.0.0 patch notes, Trails of torment got its cooldown decreased and its numbers increased, forced penance is longer, soul guard will cause deep wounds, you must fully heal for the haste from blood pact.
The problem is that people like you will go on the PTB, play one or two games with the mentality that billy sucks, and then go on the PTB balance feedback to say that billy sucks, which is not helpful feedback in any sort of way.
BHVR only listens to what they want to hear. Even when people say "No this is a terrible idea" they might consider it but probably not.
Ok because you are sitting right behind me when I do that so that's why know that. Go home.
Its mainly because launch day of EVERY PTB, someone will play 1 or 2 matches and complain that x character is up/op
I'm not someone.
