Can more stats be released to the community?

Like how they did back in November 2019. Seeing the kill-rates for killers at certain ranks and platforms, map survival rates, etc.
I find stuff like this very interesting and can spark some good discussions within the community.

I believe they said they won't do it in future as they were being misinterpreted.
Exactly what Cheers said, people were using the stats of everyone being above a 50% kill rate to say all killers were op, or that hag was played the least meant she was the worst.
Dang, well that's pretty disappointing. Thanks for letting me know though!
I can see how that can cause problems, but I feel that that information can shed light on a lot a things to newer and more experienced players.
Facts are facts, if people misinterpret them then it's on them. Honestly if it was an issue the dev's could just clarify whatever points are wrong. It would be nice if the dev's felt more approchable. Hag probably gets played the least because shes extremely hard to play effectively against red rank swfs without solid addons, even moreso than most killers.
This isnt necessarily true. you can absolutely lie with numbers that arent false. Facts are only facts if you get all the information on how things achieved certain results.
It's a shame if they really won't release them anymore at all. Even with all the debate and toxicity, it'd be nice to see some of the not-necessarily-competitive ones, like Survivor/Killer pick rates.
I don't want to argue a hypothetical here but the point of statistics is it grants a better determination as to why players do certain things. Like I said if someone makes a point like "well most survivors play nancy, she must have the most desirable perks" a dev can come in and say "nah, only 10% of nancy's perks are used by survivors " or something to that effect.
I understand why they don't release stats anymore, but I truly miss it. I love analyzing data!
I understand, what im saying is that isnt good enough. in your instance, what are those players ranks, how long have they played the game, what percentage of the community even own her perks, what regions are those players from, what rank is her perks versus every other perk in the game, what killers have those perks gone up against. theres so much infformation we arent getting with that statement and that can impact how valid that information is.
ima try this again cause my post got removed because i edited it an added a comma.
I understand, what im saying is that thats not good enough, lets take your nancy example for instance. what ranks are those players, what region are they in, how many hours have they been playing the game, what percentage of players even own/have access to her perks, what killers have these perks gone up against in a percentage format, how often do they win while using these perks, how often do the perks get used? All of these things are valid pieces of information that we need just to answer this question on if these perks are the most desirable.
Then how about making our own.... JS
I'm gathering my own and have a few ppl gathering their own
if the devs would prefer not to put stats out then let's get our own and compare stats
this sounds like a job without pay
I'M IN
X killer has a low win rate, so that definitely means they need a ton of buffs and it definitely does not mean that they are just hard to play.
Having a more precise breakdown is always good. If your argument is when need ALL the data or no data at all I'd disagree.
The only thing I want to see is % SWF in Red Ranks, and % of escape in red ranks in SWF compared to SWF escape rate in Purple - Brown
yes, a breakdown in groups of 2, 3 and 4 would be great. I want to see that as well.
My arguement is that without enough data the data then becomes deceiving and hides the truth. There is an art to lying with numbers and its very easy to do.
There is zero harm in releasing statistics to the community, they’re just numbers.
Who cares if people make assumptions based on what is revealed? People with knowledge of the game will understand how to read the stats and make educated comments regarding them.
For example, we know Freddy is widely picked and has a high kill rate because of his strong, easy to use kit which doesn’t require mechanical skill nor much strategic thought.
Exactly anyone that plays the game long enough knows that just because nurse has one the lowest pick and kill rate among all killers, doesn't mean that she's bad. Goes the same for Hag. People tend to sway towards the more forgiving and less mechanical killers.
Obviously there was some harm (to them.) They didnt like the response last time. Trauma exists. This is why we cant have nice things.
Cool... But I started a youtube channel and that's pretty much the goal of it... But also having a hard time getting the message across (Cause I'm new to it)
Just record as much as you can (written not video.. unless you want) and as specifically as you want
They shouldn't release stats unless they specify what the stats mean to THEM and what they plan on doing about it. Leaving it up for speculation is a bad move.
They wont though, because it will show how unbalanced SWF red rank is. The blanket statement they made that SWF escape rate is barely above solo escape rate is weighed down by all ranks SWF. 4 man and 3 man red rank SWF I can 100% bet is at an incredibly higher escape rate, they just don't want to admit it because how would you even go about fixing it? They don't have a solution that would "work" so they hide it so they can pretend its not as big of an issue as it really is.
