Is there an explanation as to how the survivors get their haircuts?

I'm assuming no.

Maybe the entity can transform the survivors' hairstyles at their will. It obviously has the power to deform killers and give them superpowers, so why would it not be able to cut or transform hair?

I'd like to see a barber survivor being added through DLC though, that'd be a cool character to play as. He/She would really keep a huge responsibility in keeping the morale of the survivors up. One would like to look good and survive.

Ideally, the barber would be a male since we haven't seen any pretty males in the entity's realm yet. They're either slick (Ace), slender (Dwight) or burly (Jeff), never cute. I digress.

I think it falls under the same thing like the Entity imagining worlds, but not getting it quite right. That they grab things from the real world sort of to speak, that might be a way.

Maybe lorewise it could be explained to keep the survivors and killers entertained?

Maybe the entity is you that is making the survivors wear what they like to see

I'm guessing the same survivors are picked from the multiverse, so they have multiple versions of themselves in the same trial, different clothes, haircuts, time periods and personalities (i.e. the person controlling them).

The killers have a salon and fitting room.

I am sure somewhere in the realms there are scissors laying around somewhere. I would imagine Lery's has some. Grab them, and get a haircut while working on the generator.

Surely when the trials aren't taking place, Freddy takes on an Edward Scissorhands role and provides everyone with the coolest of dues

I believe I can answer your question with the utmost confidence:

This is how I like to think of it:

The Entity at the very least exists as a powerful 6th dimensional creature in the fictional universe (Cross Intellectual Property acquisition). Their Eldritch powers allowing them to transport beings from a 6th dimensional view, into their own realm, in which they have control over the 5th dimension (Survivors having different lifestyles from different parallel universes IE Greek) and the 4th dimension (Survivors that are the 'same' but are present in the same Trial), the 3rd dimension (making maps), and subsequently the 2nd and 1st dimension.

For the Devs and the Playerbase, lore-wise, I see two ways of approaching this:

    1. (Each player is a single Entity from the 6th dimensional multiverse, subject to a higher being that controls how we interact with one another) We are each a 6th dimensional Entity (We observe our Killers/Survivors matches), and there is/are strange 7th dimensional being(s) that enables us to interact with each other.
    2. (The devs are the Entity, and we are fans of the Entity) , If we are not multiverse versions of the Entity, then lore-wise the players exists as 6th dimensional beings with less power than the entity, observing the Entity's realm through the eyes of the Killers and Survivors. The actual Entity being the Devs, and there is no lore explanation for multiple user profiles.

    From a lore perspective:

Survivors and Killers can come from different IPs (6th dimensional control)

There can be different versions of each survivor (5th dimensional control), which allows drastic visual changes.

Survivors can be placed into any trial at any time, and can even be paired with themselves in the trial (4th dimensional control) and allows minor changes to the Survivor.

The Entity is eldritch enough that it's not trying to take over the multi-verse or something humans might consider sensible.

(If approach 1:) The Devs are multidimensional architects in the 7th dimension.

(If approach 1:) The Players are each an Entity that interacts with other Entities with our 'toys' as we acquire and feed off of them.

(If approach 2:) The Devs are the Entity, and the Entity allows us to watch the Trials.

(If approach 2): There is no lore explanation for individual user profile progression/store/main menu

Given that the UI is 'gamified' rather than trying to make it seem like we are the entity itself (Warframe does a great job at this), the second option is the clearest choice, but isn't as 'immersion' friendly.
