Same Problem as the TO, windows 7 too.
I'm getting this after anti cheat
That reshader is for dx11, if you are using another directx it wont work. Like dx12 from win10. And the archive needs to be in the same folder as
After you run the game once the reshader will add a txt file to the folder as well, for the config.
Already checked dxdiag. Currently on dx11. Already copied the one in archive and paste in D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\DeadByDaylight\Binaries\Win64 and renamed to dxgi.dll. Here's the dxgi.log after I launched the game. I'll just have to wait for the official fix then
So all of this means that the developers should be able to fix it, right?
The reshade worked for me.
Game launched. I started a match. I played a match. I finished a match. All worked for me.
Edit: However, it's not an official solution to the problem. Would we be getting a refund or some boost to the battle pass for the days that officially the game couldn't be played?
I have been running the game on Win7 and nothing was a problem untill I update my game to 4.2.0 Blight update. When I try to run my game , I'm getting this CreateDXGIFactory2 error and I don't know what to do to play Dead by Daylight again on my Win7 OS. Honestly, I don't think Behaviour Interactive is decided to take Dead by Daylight off from Win7 Platform so the only cure is waiting for an updating that can fix this error. I hope we cotinue playing Dead by Daylight as soon as possible :)
Just an update, reshade worked for me too.
There's a comment from May 2019 in this forum that says that some Reshade Versions are whiltelisted by EAC. Unfortunately I can not find such information on the official EAC website (http://www.easy.ac/).
Is there any recent/uptodate official FAQ/Statement from EAC or BHVR (I'm not asking for information from 3rd parties, only from EAC or BHVR) which confirms that Reshade is whitelisted (and if so, which version[s]) and that the usage of it does not result in an EAC ban (or a ban by BHVR)?
This where my files are, and still, the game is telling me I'm offline on steam !
I had the same problem and removing the ReShade files from the Dead By Daylight folder and reinstalling ReShade worked for me.
Same dxgi.dll problem here, Win 7 SP1 user.
So sad, I was so happy to see the new graphics of this game.
I hope a fix really, really soon ...
It must be a universal problem.
Hello fellow win 7 users,
I have an issue where it loads the easy anti-cheat with the dbd splash screen, it goes away and that is the end of that. No launch of the game nor any error messages, so I have no idea why it's not working. I verified the files - that didn't work; I re-installed from scratch and that didn't work. First my GTX 980 randomly dies, that's 1 week I missed out on getting fragments and now, this 😥
Edit: ReShade fixed the problem, cheers.
Aye just need to update graphic cards. Lol
So I was planning to update my windows from 7 to 10 for a while now and this error just added to the pile of reasons. Yesterday I ended up updating and upon being able to play DBD again, I verified that the game still is running on DX11:
BHVR probably just added some visual effect that is requiring files that belong to the DX12 library or something along those lines.
With the latest 29 mb patch, I was able to launch the game succesfully.
Everyone update right now!
LADS LADS LADS LADS
HAS BEEN FIXED
You were too fast! I was about to do it here also :)
Thanks a bunch <3
I beat a dev, I feel accomplished.
I got banned from the DBD facebook last night when I accused the mod of spreading misinformation for insisting that DBD dropped support on Windows 7. He even went as far as saying things like "It is your fault for not listening to us" (to who exactly?). Hope that group and mod aren't official, because they look pretty stupid right now.
I mean, which DBD facebook group. There's a lot.
Yeah there is haha. I didn't really use it all too much as it was one of the bigger ones with a lot of new people. Whatever one was called "Dead By Daylight" and had 50k+ members or so.
For the record, I believe you can still upgrade to windows 10 for free.
I STRONGLY recommend doing so since Windows 7 is no longer supported by microsoft.
Isn't it "The Windows 10 free upgrade through the Get Windows 10 (GWX) app ended on July 29, 2016." ?
from MS official site
Anyone else still broken? The hotfix that rolled out will let me get past the .dll error code, but now the video freezes up the second the main menu opens. I can still hear the killer breathing with the menu frozen.
Long story short
This is the first instance I have had with a game or app not working (Fallout 76, 7 Days to Die, Rust, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.. all functional) with Win7 and it was quickly resolved. A lot of people stick with older operating systems out of preference or other personal reasons. Same goes with certain hardware that may be considered out of date, but still allows people to play X or Y game.
If the day comes, it comes, but I expect an announcement for when it comes.
Windows 7 - same problem here.
