(How many times can I say trap? 😄)
No other Killer can be hurt/hindered by their own traps...was it because he faught back at The Entity and she forever punishes him...or is there some other reason?
Cuz he's in desperate need of an overhaul.
Remove getting caught in his own traps, carry 2 traps base kit, and traps start the match in the open position.
On one half, it makes sense for that to happen if he was to step in his own bear traps. But on the other it pretty much comes from the fact that he's a very outdated killer. He definitely needs alot more QOL changes and that's something that they should address
As a former Trapper main and an avid advocate for changes to him this is something I´d be fine if they kept the feature of stepping into his own traps. It´s fing hillarious!
To make it more fair as Survivor I shouldn´t be able to DH through them, that´s just stupid imo.
Also remove all the things that reveal your traps. At the very least make it perk only. There's no commitment to bringing a rainbow map/yellow rope add on.
With MacMillan realm graphic update, I really think its a good chance for Devs to re-work Trapper
Because he's literally the worst killer in the game, that's right, worse than clown.
If you're against an OoO SWF or you just don't know how to play Trapper, sure. But the same could be said for Hag. Absolutely not worse than clown if you know where and when to use your traps.
Because every time he could climb over his own traps, the Crapper distracts him and inevitably ends up inside

It’s a fing bear trap lol. His base is fine. That’s what add ons are for. He has pretty fair add ons, compared to someone like spirit, where u can randomly put on whatever and you’re in good shape
logic and realism, which is showing up less and less in this game.
It's one of the best things about this game. Seeing a Trapper step in his own trap completely changes how you think about the player behind the killer.

I don't think its very fair to expect the killer to have to use a perk slot for one item when the survivor doesn't have to use any. Trapper depserately needs his perk slots for slowdown. Trapping totems is too predictable. If you're against a trapper or had you damn well crouch towards that totem young man.
I guess you have to keep some form of continuity and logic. It wouldn't really make sense if survivors stepped in the trap but not the killer itself.
Because they put a lot of effort into the animation.
The more important question is why can survivors squeeze past traps? You can set it in the middle of a lane on haddonfield and a survivor can squeeze past it by face planting the wall.
