How can rank 9 survivors be so bad 🤦♂️

I haven’t played as much the past few weeks but I am now and because of rank reset I’m stuck with absolute potatoes that make you ask the question..are these real people or just bots? The most painful experience ever

well I can say that no matter what rank there is you will get some potatoes on a team. I've played on survivor teams where I'm the lowest level but I seem to play the game better then they do.
It is because the matchmaking sucks in actually putting survivors with people at their skill level. There could be a really in depth ranking system but would require BVHR to actually do something big. For now, just run kindred every game honestly.
I'm a Rank-9 (after reset) Survivor and I sometimes resemble this remark. :) Glass houses man, glass houses. I think the quality of Survivors can vary widely and is rarely representative of their Rank. A bad Survivor can be carried by a good team. A good Survivor can be dragged down by a bad one. Sometimes we have off days.
I have sometimes it doesn’t even help THEY STILL CROUCH TO ME.
I blame the ruin nerf. Ever since that change I'm seeing higher ranked survivors who can't hit great skill checks or they can't even loop.
it’s to easy getting to rank 1 honestly should be a lot harder
The ranking system absolutely sucks in this game. It might be one of the worst ranking systems in any game I’ve ever played, actually.
I took a few breaks from DBD and got deranked down to green ranks on killer, and the number of SWF I’m facing that are all red ranks with one token brown rank (with all meta perks, obviously) is pretty stupid. I’m reasonably experienced so it’s not a big deal to me but I feel bad for actual new killer players. And then you have red rank survivors that absolutely should not be there and get everyone killed through their tremendously awful plays.
I really hope they’re working on the MMR and it actually works to match people somewhat realistically, because the system that’s in place now is absolutely godawful.
Because ranking is broke. Not match making but you can almost guarantee hitting red rank with 1 gen 1 rescue and 1 heal every single match.
Rank means how much you play each month nothing else. You barely ever depip but higher you go the more you need to do to pip. Ive seen rank 1s with under 100 hours and rank 15s with 4 thousand hours.
It does help though, you just gotta suck it up for now because the devs are quite slow when it comes to these things.
Cause ranking is so easy, you can abuse the 2-2-2 strat all the way to red ranks. 2 generators, 2 chases, 2 unhooks. You will pip instantly
Rank 11 here, I'm terrible but not a bot.
I have fun, though. Sorry.
Its that simple?
They are learning. You once was rank 9 and sucked too.
you are absolutely right, why isnt every new player that joins this game immediately a god at it?
yes it is
This right here, you almost have to have kindred when running with randoms or they either won't get you or hide the whole match , it's like kindred shows everyone what you're doing and puts you in a position where if you're not helping everyone is gonna know you're useless so they feel pressured to do something productive , it's became one of my favorite perks just because I don't always play swf
How dare low rank survivors not be good at the game?
rank 9 is not low honey. By that rank you should have at least a little expierience and know what to do in a lot scenerios.
Green rank is still low rank. My friend who bought the game two weeks ago and doesn't even know what looping is has already reached rank 10. To get out of the yellow ranks you just have to literally play the game.
But at least he knows that he needs to do gens in order to win right?
^^ THIS EXACTLY.
Anyone who at least plays the tutorial knows that.
Rank means very little.
If a survivor is rank 9, it means they are somewhat active.
That's it.
Even rank 1 means little. Most good players are rank 1, since skill tends to correlate to time played, but there are a ton of rank 1's that are just dumbasses who played a lot this month.
Not at all. When I got to red ranks I still thought of myself as pretty bad. Rank 9 is very low if you are good at this game you are probably not rank 9. But there are players at that level who are very good in some areas, might be looping or anything else. But overall they mostly have a lot to learn.
If only my team mates could know that...
Shoot, it goes all the way into the purple ranks. After my team left me in a gen lock situation, I got to spend 10-15 minutes being slugged and wiggling off the killer because he couldn't get me to a hook close enough. Sure, I could have let him kill me; but I would also expect my teammate to at least try to either pick me up or do one of the gens?
I ended up bleeding out, and the other last remaining survivor wasn't even trying for hatch. They waited at a gate while the killer closed hatch, and, surprise - weren't able to open the gate. Never trust an Urban Evasion survivor - especially on console. (She also had Spine Chill and Iron Will, tells me everything I need to know about this particular player.)
Every rank has potatoes.
Just like how there are boosted potatoes in reds that should be low purple or high green, there are boosted greens that should be brown.
a combination of the current rank reset and swf have caused this.
Disagree as a console player. Hitting a "Great" result for us is like rolling a set of dice half the time.
