they made the big tree on shelter woods unclimbable. whyyyyyyyyy?
Because that was a dumb exploit to begin with.
Kinda annoying that they made Balance-Changes to Badham when they added the new graphics, but one of the worst Maps (Shelter Woods) still has the same issues.
Like a Balanced Landing-Spot without climbing that tree would have been nice.
Did they add any hills to that map?
If not that's kinda sad, a perk cannot be used on a very specific map.
Can we just delete Shelter Woods please? Half the map is a dead zone. I groan every time I get it.
Why is it a dumb "exploit"?
It's not like survivors could hold the game hostage with it or something else
Because it meant a killer might have to think about the way they chased on an already very killer sided map.
It was quite literally the only spot on the map BL could be used at. Right now Shelter Woods is completely flat.
Not sure I'd call such a large map killer-sided just because it can potentially spawn the least amount of pallets in a very rare scenario.
Exploit? You mean that one sigle spot where you were able to use BL? Like "this map F***S BL" ? I won't call it an exploit
If that tree was on Coal Tower it still would be an exploit and should be fixed. Ask for a naturally generated hill instead of an exploit on some random tree.
Clipping your way into a tree in order to get enough height to proc BL is not the most "obvious" thing I think when chasing someone. I don't care if they put naturally generated hills on that map but that exploit on that tree was dumb.
Half of the map is always deadzone; it is killer sided and if I get it as killer, no matter my build, I'll win, because of this.
Edit: to be clear, this isn't me complaining; just saying it how it is.
Noone clipped into the tree at all; they walked on the surface of its roots, which a killer could do too. Exploit my ass.
Actually, no. Half the map is very rarely a deadzone, and when it is then the other half is usually full of the missing pallets. And on top of that, it was the OG hold-W map til Midwich, which alone makes it extremely survivor sided.
It just makes killer feel very cheated when a survivor falls down only 1 foot from a tree root, and then zips off. It feels unintended in comparison to other exhaustion perks.
No, it almost always has mostly deadzones. Maybe it was once, but it hasn't been a hold W map for the last 2 years at least.
Exactly as it’s intended. That’s a gamble of running BL. You shouldn’t expect that it’s usable/optimal on every map, same as Lithe (for example, Rotten fields versus badham).
If you want more control over an exhaustion perk, you should be choosing Sprint Burst or Dead Hard, but even they have their compromises.
Uh,but it was the only spot (besides the stairs to the basement) where BL users could trigger it,which was always kind of awkward to do too.
Would rather take that than dead for distance tbh
Just use the basement stairs 4head ;))))
If a survivor knew about the tree, and had balanced landing in the current year I definitely wouldn't feel cheated, I'd commend them for actually knowing and using something that's kind of niche and very specific. Why would you feel cheated? It's literally like a 99ed sprint burst. Are you gonna tell me that you don't feel cheated when a survivor runs, stops for a split second and then zips off with SB but you cross the line at a survivor running up the roots of a tree and falling off?
As I said in another response, it shouldn’t be expected to use BL on every map, or get optimal use out of it, like Lithe.
If somebody wants more flexibility in their exhaustion perk they should go with SB or DH, but even they have their compromises.
I’d rather neither.
No killer wants to get in range of a hit after dealing with looping or 360’s, only for a survivor to suddenly zip off.
I’m just pointing out that tripping over a tree root and suddenly sprinting away feels like an unintended way to get BL to activate. It’s not “falling” in the same way it isn’t “falling” when each foot is momentarily off the ground with each step while running.
Seriously guys, why argue about a dumb way of proc BL when you could ask for a proper way of using that perk (like a hill or something). With a hill or a two story building you have some kind of baiting or something but with that tree it was just two scenarios: 1- the Killer don't know and feels cheated on or 2 - the Killer knows and cuts through it then the survivor feels cheated.
You can still use it at the stairs, it's just that doing so well is hard. Now, please note that Lery's turns several characters into M1 killer's.
Hows it an exploit? Its literally the only place you can activate it.
It really is. I played a killer I haven't played since January(plague) and won really easily, even though can't aim VP at all.
when you are so bad at killer that you think that was an exploit lol
Nea zips off from stepping off a tree root, and that makes me a bad killer because I do not consider it “falling”?!
That's a weird change. I'm gonna miss climbing that tree :(
