My potential fix for deep wound

Right now deep wound in the current meta is annoying. These changes I believe would make it more interesting 🤔

Buff:Mending now requires another survivor to heal you just like with injury

Nerf:Decrease how fast the deep wound timer goes down so its not to overpowered

This will make deep wound more fun since it will actually be threatening if you get it. What do you all think ?

    So you annoyed by deep wound because it's not give you feeling of danger? Not because you have to do additional routine? What about situations where you are last survivor? If you not escape in time you will fall. Unlucky.

    I don't think you can fix deep wound. I actually think it's fine. Survivors don't like to get deep wound from health state. But when they are deep wounded from injured state, they are glad they not downed. And it's only annoying just because you have to fill up another progress bar. Not a big deal. Also you can forget about your deep wound status and fall, but it is so exceptional situation. It's not overpowered at current state.

    Deep Wounds has been completely gutted and nothing will change that, not unless an internal decision within the Dev team is changed (reworking chase mechanics to be uncheesable instead of removing/avoiding any negative to being in a chase as killer). Everything else is either too oppressive or too weak.

    I forget where I read it, but the devs said they are wanting to reduce the DW timer from 30 seconds to 10, and the only thing stopping them is Doctor, because if the rare circumstance occurs wherein he manages to inflict DW on a survivor and bring them to madness 3, they have to spend 12 seconds to "Snap out of it" before they can mend, and with only 10 seconds on the DW timer, that would be a guaranteed down. Like I said however, that is an extremely rare set of circumstances, because there is nothing in the Docs base kit/add-on's and no perk the in the killers current perk base that inflicts DW. The only time it can happen is if the survivors bring in BT, Soul Guard, MoM, or "Bottled Time" and manage to activate the DW effect. At which point, all that would mean is that Doc is the only killer with a unique advantage in those situations, and honestly, I don't see that as being a big enough problem that they have reservations about going ahead with the timer change to DW.

    Plague's base kit gives her an unique advantage against Healing builds and items, Pyramid Head has it for Hook activated perks like DS, hell, even Pig can stall the game better than old Ruin did which gives her the advantage against gen rush, so why not let Doc have that extremely niche advantage against the DW status perks and items brought in by survivors?

    Truth be told, I'm not even sure reducing the timer to 10 seconds is going to do anything meaningful, because the only moments the timer is ever allowed to tick down is when a survivor is in a chase and either vaults, pallet drops, or slows down. If it was reduced to 10 seconds, and they lost 1 second on the timer for each pallet drop and vault, that means they would get 10 of those actions before DW downs them, which any killer will tell you is one HELL of a long chase. Still, that's better than the 30 of those actions they currently get, but if a killer has to chase them for 10 of those actions while relying on DW to down the survivor... then that's just a bad killer IMO.

    so it's meta eh? well let me see... what causes deep wounds: 1) LEGION and DeathSlinger, 2) borrowed time 3) stiptic agent and 4) one or two more perks that aren't always used. hmmm this is an issue with Meta right now? I don't see how it does. and if you're saying it's part of the meta, you'd be wrong really. only main cause of this that is played more is borrowed time. no reason to fix it.

    Deep wound is one of the most boring mechanics in the game, Oh great the Killer just applied a layer of extra healing.

    My suggestion would be,If you have Deep Wound, Running around drains the Survivors Bleed Out Timer.

    Then Deep Wound would actually mean something.

    They could just make Deep Wounds pause while Snapping Out Of It, boom, problem solved.

    But, that's the reason Legion was so hated back then, if the timer would go down while running, it would be impossible for the Survivors to do anything.

    No, the timer that went down then was not the Bleed out timer. What went down with Old Legion was the another health state.

    What do you mean? Legion always applied Deep Wounds, before it went down while not in a chase, so you could cheese it to secure a down, no matter what the Survivor did.

    Im saying the effects I suggested changed for Deep Wound is not the same change as Deep Wound when there was Old Legion.

    Do you understand the difference between Health State Timer and Bleed Out Timer? or do you need more help?

    Why so salty, you said that the bleed out timer ticks down while running, Deep Wounds and the Bleed out timer is the same thing.

    Also what is health state timer?

    Salty? you dont acknowledge what I say, even tho you question what i mean. So im probably just wasting my time here, but...

    There are two Bleed Out Timers in the game. https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Health_States#Deep_wound

    1. One when you are in the dying state, Crawling on the ground, until you get healed. (This is the original Bleed Out Timer)
    2. Current Deep Wound in an injured state which puts you in dying state if you dont mend in time. (This is what I call a Health state timer)

    A health state timer is a timer that changes the health state when a certain timer passes.

    Original Legion's deep wound put people in injured state and put a health state timer on them, which went down people when people run.

    Current Legion and current Deep wound puts people in injured state, and puts a health state timer on them, which they have to mend or they will be put into the dying state.


    Notice how current Deep wound is not really about Bleeding Out, it just puts you in the dying state, which then also bleeds you out.

    Bleeding out twice? The madness of this game.

    Now you can probably guess Im talking about the Original Bleed Out Timer and not Deep Wound, if not I have wasted my time.

    So, if I got it right, you mean that with Deep Wounds on a Survivor, their Bleed-out timer while in the Dying State goes down? So let's say if the Survivor has the Deep Wounds for 4 minutes, they would just instantly die if they go into the Dying State?

    It's really confusing, both timers in game are called bleed out timers, and when talking about the Bleed out timer I think about the Deep Wounds timer, but in your case you mean the Bleeding out timer while in the Dying State when talking about the Bleed out timer, tell me please if I'm right.
