I dont like versing the new Killer

I really tried to give it a chance. Really, at first it was interesting. A new take on Killer mechanics? Damn that can turn out really refreshing. However, after all the games I totally disliking the new Killer. Victor in particular.

Not fun at all, no real chase interaction. Hitbox is GIGANTIC, legit cant dodge victor, every paunce connects even tho it clearly missed by 2+ meters on my end. Much more worse than Huntress hatchtes or Demo Shredd. And whats the point of dodging and kicking victor? He can respawn in just 5 seconds or so.

Dont get me wrong, I dont want the killer to get nerfed. I dont think its really strong (guess, never played myself really), I win mostly unless they do the super unfun tactic of camping with victor. I just think the fun factor was missed and the devs solely focussed to create this killer for the sake of creating something new.

Pretty sure the point of dodging and kicking victor is to solve the literal next problem you mentioned, among other things.....

I just some some bug fixes and qol of life changes on both sides before anything. Like him being unkickable on stairs because his hitbox is MASSIVE and it forces you away:

I've felt the opposite when it comes to Victor's pounces: it's too easily juked by just zig-zagging. And if you miss, you lose all pressure you had. It's quite annoying.

But as for the core problems with The Twins, yeah, this Killer is probably the worst Killer they have ever released, even worse than launch Legion, cuz at least you got SOME sort of chase interaction.

  • not working for me, tried everything from duking to zik zaking to 360ing. Well, visually I dodged the hit by a mile. But game says "NO" and I get hit anyway with a gigantic hitbox

Never forget the Pigs that put on an activated trap and tunnel, or the clowns that proxy camp by throwing bottles near hooked survivors to listen for screams... so fun!

zig zagging, just like with Deathslinger, to make the distance so his gigantic hitbox can't physically miss?

One reason I hate going against them is for the complete campfest it turns into. I've just bought them today, and I always try walk a fair distance from a hook to use Victor again. Even if I'm back as Charlotte and someone unhooks behind me, I don't go rushing to redown the unhooked survivor. I'll try spot the unhooker and go for them instead. Camping with them is the most boring thing I could literally do with them. I mean, I've lost every match so far with them but honestly, I'm having so much fun with them, I could care less. I want them to get unhooked to keep the game going a bit longer just so I can have more fun using Victor.

The twins aren't really that much fun to play either. Outside the first week when the killer was new and people were trying them out, I haven't run into The Twins when I play survivor.

And let's never forget the killers that get handed free downs on a silver platter with sprinkles on top and still tunnel.

    Those sprinkles are expensive, dammit

    Edit: Also, so's silverware.

As a experienced killer main, who played her a bit in red ranks - All i can say that twins are top tier. Absolutely broken killer.

  • SunderMunSunderMun Member Posts: 2,791

This. i've played them with crap perks at rank 1 and 4k every time.

Victor definitely needs to count as a chase for scoring purposes.

I don't mind that they are a territorial killer. It is ok for killers to be extremely strong defensively. I think the problem more is survivors aren't rewarded for good play against them.

Victor feels fair in that he is a 'reverse legion' effect: First hit is hard, second hit is trivial, compared to first hit trivial, second hit hard. I also don't mind the map control element as, and I can't stress this enough, it is the main benefit of the killer to be able to defend two spots. It subverts the traditional power dynamic of killers and survivors, sure, in that killers tend to be local to one spot, but two spot defense creates interesting gameplay scenarios where survivors will try to exploit your split focus.

I think the reason the Twins seem strong is they deny a lot of traditional 'meta' survivor strategies: Don't heal, don't try to break chases just loop, go for rescues fast, ect. Twins reward 'classic' DBD play, back before even SWF got into the game: know how to break chases, know how to 50/50, rescue late while the killer is in another chase, ect. That is frustrating to survivors who want to win the same way every game, but those survivors shouldn't... win games anyway right? Like you shouldn't be allowed to play vs the same killer the same way every time. Part of why Trapper is interesting is how much control he has over a zone which makes things like rescues hard and he rewards scouting on the killer. Part of why nurse is interesting is that stealth play is so rewarded on her. Myers forces you to not brute force objectives near him, Piggy creates mandatory side objectives and makes you second guess finishing gens, ect.

I think the main balance change to Victor that needs to happen is that Victor needs a 'wind up' on detection after being switched off, just so that survivors who stealth on a controlled Victor can vanish on them trivially. Maybe a scaling cooldown so if your really rapidly switching its tough but if your just deploying one or switching to one mid chase your good.

The killer is also has a pretty intense execution requirement, which in DBD terms tends to mean you are allowed more power (ex: Nurse, Huntress, DS, arguably spirit, arguably blight and billy). They aren't physically pleasant to play in a way which means that the killer needs to be heavily rewarding to be worth mastering. If your just using Victor to close out the second hit on chases faster or just to camp hooks your kinda using the killer wrong and should lose if the survivors know basic Twins counterplay.

    They are insanely dull.

You guys are vsing the Twins? I've went against them a whopping two times since they've been released.

  • SunderMunSunderMun Member Posts: 2,791

Lucky. I've gone against them a good 30 times. Every time bar one or two where the killer just didn't even try to use their power, it was incredibly frustrating and boring. Slug simulator life.

  • TrialByFire476TrialByFire476 Member Posts: 100

The two I went against didn't play like that. They used Victor quite a bit, but they weren't scummy when they did.

  • SunderMunSunderMun Member Posts: 2,791

Well, first 10 or so games they all just as close to facecamped as they could, then it began being slug simulator. because they realised just how broken Victor is, I guess.

Meanwhile I didn't play this way when I've played him, and had an incredibly easy time to 4k.

  • Huge_BushHuge_Bush Member Posts: 3,527

I do that when Im trolling. I place all ten of my traps to see the light die out from my victims eyes, but, just to lessen the toxicity, I make it a rule to not teleport to any trap when I do and get in a chase with someone else.

  • TrialByFire476TrialByFire476 Member Posts: 100

How difficult are they to play as? I didn't want to buy them because of how broken they were at first, but now that they've implemented the bug fixes, I'm in the market for a new killer. Would you recommend them?

  • SunderMunSunderMun Member Posts: 2,791

It's incredibly easy. You'll likely miss the first couple of Lunges, but after a few, you'll recognise how easy it is to hit people, since you can take into account that Victor's hitbox is also the size of the funbus.

I'd definitely recommend, personally, since they allow you to split pressure amazingly well, but just beware a lot of survivors will likely just kill themselves off hook because it's not a fun experience to go against Victor and get no points for wasting his time and still going down in a short amount of time anyway.

But I'm also the type of player that enjoys speedy bois, and that's definitely what I'd class Victor as.

  • meatisadelicacymeatisadelicacy Member Posts: 1,920

I haven't had any fun against the new killer either. They slug, stand over the body, send out Victor, and I can't even get to the person to try to get them up before Victor is on me. They're hooked, I'm downed, repeat. Meh. I've just added them to the list of killers that aren't fun to play against. I still prefer them over Ghostface.

  • ZaynZayn Member Posts: 365

I dislike them as well. They promote scummy gameplay with extreme slugging and mainly camping. Especially since I'm primarily a solo queue player, rank 1 Twins players usually camp a survivor on the hook with Victor in a hidden spot and then control Charlotte to pressure other survivors, as soon as they get killer instinct they switch back to victor and latch onto/down the would-be rescuer causing one survivor still on hook and the other unable to unhook since Victor is on them or they're downed. It's really unfair to solo queue players.

Not to mention how big Victors hitbox is. It doesn't matter if you dodge or not, 9 times out of 10, he'll still be able to pounce on you no matter what you do. What I do now is try to pallet stun victor but it doesn't matter since Charlotte gets him back way too quickly. If I crush Victor, why should he respawn that quickly? Really flawed killer who's in need of an overhaul to be honest.

  • MythMageMythMage Member Posts: 521

Well, that's not the hitbox then now is it? It's latency, just like every other issue with this game when it comes to hits connecting, latency is a fault here. Whenever I play against or as The Twins, everything misses by a mile because I/the survivor just exist and have A and D keys.
