Now that said, it does need some adjusting which the devs are working on still, but you as a killer can mitigate it some, dribbling, Enduring etc are all things you can do.

Holy poopy.. what do I do doc if it was there first time knocked down and the gates are powered and there is no hook to dribble to? What happens if they are not the obsession and nail you with it because the hooks are more spread out now? What if they hit you with it when they are close enough to a loop? I think you need to take some of your own medicine and get out of the yellow ranks.

I really think it needs the Deliverance treatment where it can't be activated unless you save a team mate and it doesn't have the save function, you get one shot and that's it.

If they had the perma-no mither effect after using it the whole game then it would be balanced. Having some shitter hit me with it because there are no hooks to dribble to and I've been slugging him the whole game is complete BS. There is no hard counter to that perk similar to how NOED works. NOED has totems. It is like you wouldn't see NOED activated on a totem unless every survivor has been hit by it at least once. That is how effing strong it is. It would be like ruin not being a totem anymore.. it is at that power level. There is nothing but mongoloids using that broken ass perk in the red ranks right now. They don't care about BP up there, they just want to loop/flashlight/ds... maybe escape.. maybe not.

But we all know the devs balance around the rank 15s, it makes sense because all other PvP games balance around the bronze league players.. right.. right?

I don't run it and I've got no issue downing survivors who use it right away, perhaps you need to plan your chases better so you end up closer to a hook. Now for some logic, they use it, well guess what it's not there anymore for the rest of the game and now they have a wasted perk slot.

Now if we get into the what if category you want to try and use.

    Well what if:

    You ran Enduring
    You dribbled
    You planned your chases better
You expected everyone to be running it so you're better prepared
You did any of the other countless what if's like

    What if:
    The DS user is bad
The DS user misses the skillcheck
The DS user runs into a dead end
The DS user runs to where there's no pallets

I could keep going on but what if instead of complaining to remove a perk you improve your gameplay like everyone else.

I'll let @Orion and @SovererignKing explain it to you since while we all agree it needs a fix we don't say remove it just because we get frustrated over it.

At rank 1 survivor I rarely see it used anymore except by Kate's trying to do the achievement , people running the Obsession build, some SWF groups where someones trying to be the looping bait etc.

@powerbats No, I wouldn't say that. Not in this case. There is no getting good against Decisive Strike. Unless you down a Survivor close to a Hook, there's no other option as taking the stun and losing your caught Survivor. It's a mechanic that should never have made it into the game. The Perk in its current form is broken. I'm still a proud never-user of DS, I consider it the worst crutch there is.

I'm trying to point out to the op that there's things they can do, simply removing it because hey don't like dealing with it isn't a solution. Once they fix it to where it's simply a stun it won't be such a big issue but it they remove it might as well remove instant downs from killers.

Yet there isn't. There's nothing a Killer can do about Decisive Strike unless given very specific circumstances (proximity to a Hook).

Quite honestly, as far as I'm concerned, DS and NOED can be removed from the game. Both reward bad players for screwing up.

Well you can run Enduring and Iron Grasp which a lot of killers do especially at ranks 1-5. I do agree they could remove both along with Whispers hopefully so I can go back to being immersed and evading instead of having to try and endlessly loop.

    >The killer has failed when a survivor has escaped. NOED is not a second-chance because the survivors in their infinite dumbness have not escaped: you have two exit gates and the killer can not guard both except that once in a blue-moon occassion where Billy got lucky with both gates spawning with few obstacles in the way on Lampkin Lane.

    >Even then the most survivors a killer can get is one, unless they are all idiots who refuse to simply escape.

    >NOED should never have been nerfed into a Hex perk, nor given a time-limit prior to that. It already had a significant limiting factor: the presence of multiple escapes for survivors and the killer can't guard all of them. Only tools/uncoordinated bonobos loose because of NOED.

I always get rid of DS the same way: pick 'em up, let them use it, down them again. Simple.
I only juggle them if I have a Mori.

I'm sorry, but do you consider those counters? If so, re-read the definition of said word.

Enduring doesn't prevent the stun from happening, neither does Iron Grasp. And really, leave Iron Grasp out of any discussion that doesn't at least involve its counterpart Boil Over. It only adds 1.92 seconds to the wiggle time on Tier III.

I didn't say they countered it though, but saying those are worthless is missing the point that they can and are used by efficient killers. If people don't want to use the tools available to them that's on them, since even if Dstrike gets removed then the complaint will simply switch to Boil Over.

Then the complaint will be remove X, then remove Y etc etc etc, when you can do things that can either counter or mitigate. Better planning on how you conduct your chase, knowing where pallets and vaults are etc.

Delete the perk isn't a solution. I hate DS too, so much but the Devs are looking for a solution and after these patch I actually trust them

For now just slug or dribble to the nearest hook. It sucks I know but try to deal with it as much as you can. They don't like to be slugged? Doesn't matter just do it, do anything to kill as much as they will do anything to survive

My idea was to make. double skill check for both sides that goes faster and faster that gives the same effect if survivor win or a instant second stage or mori if already hooked once. For now just wait till they change it, my idea have many flaws and they might as well thought about it too

Still, delete the perk isn't a solution

It needs to go. There's no defense for it.

It wastes too much time and punishes the killer for doing his job. It really is a get out of jail free card sometimes.

It's not comparable to NOED. NOED can be stopped. You can't stop someone from using DS. Plus NOED is an endgame crutch perk just like adrenaline, DS is the kind of crap that causes you to reach endgame with multiple survivors alive.

You can juggle in certain circumstances only with the obsession but this wastes more time than it should do.

Sabotaging hooks, bodyblocking requires teamwork and time. Therefore it is balanced.

DS robs the killer of a hook and doesn't require the rest of the team to lift a finger. It's not a fair perk at all.

I think you need to take some of your own medicine and get out of the yellow ranks.

You kiss your ass goodbye for not killing them earlier

oh great and which perk delays those kills unlike any other perk in the game?

DS is the second most used perk for a reason, I mostly just think they should just stun you in place with DS for 6-8 seconds instead of getting off (killer can still move his head tho), this way in some occasions you can still wiggle free.

Oh, I know it’s an insane perk. I just happen to usually kill them before gates are ready. It’s rare I get less than 3k’s. Usually 4k

This isn't guaranteed and it relies on you playing Huntress but I have a decent counter strategy for handling DS. If there is a dropped pallet by the DS user make sure to pick them up a few feet away. Once they break free most players beeline to the closest pallet. Now that you know where that pallet is, it's hatchet time.

Yeah right, you're much better than most killer streamers who average 3k, you on the other hand the survivor main, you usally get 4ks on r1.

I like how someone would post something like "Get rid of NOED," and a few people would agree, then like 15 killer mains would come in like "HahAa saLty suRviVoR mAINs, jUSt dONT gET hiT whEn thE eXit gAtes Are pOWERd!" But then when someone goes "Get rid of DS," no one says anything about salty killer mains and everyone that plays killer comes in and agrees.

The only time DS is ever i guess like, go o d, is whenever you get downed right next to the hatch or open exit gates and you have it. But you could still also miss it, and you would probably just get moried with rancor. Also, NOED probably would trigger at high rank games, considering the new buff to the perk that exposes all survivors at any tier.

90% of the time all totems are cleansed at high ranks so before you talk [BAD WORD] maybe inform yourself or even play high ranks which isn't hard at all during this event where survivors throw themselves at you.

Rancor is NOT a counter to DS holy [BAD WORD].
