Optimization?

Back in March 2019, the following news post was published by @not_Queen
Ever since that post was published we have received zero communication on optimization. Given the current situation, it's difficult to get our hands on better hardware due to graphics cards being in short supply. I think the developers should prioritize optimization on lower-end hardware to make the game more accessible.
So this leads to my question... Is this game ever going to get optimized for minimum spec PCs? @MandyTalk @Peanits maybe you both could provide us with an update?
To put it in to perspective, I can play Resident Evil 2 and 3 remake on high settings, 1080p resolution at 60 FPS with my Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB. However, I struggle to run Dead by Daylight even on low settings.

I think the PS5's hardware brute forces through the optimization issues. I used to play on PS4 and I've clocked around 3k+ hours but switched to PC not too long ago. Cross-progression is really needed for this game or ease the grind but that's another matter...
Dbd runs very stable on low end PCs with integrated graphics (though the FPS certainly could be better), its starting to sound like the issue is either Nvidia or the game's memory management
I think you may be on to something. Dead by Daylight definitely suffers from a memory leak issue, I have proven this by monitoring memory usage with MSI Afterburner.
I have the same GPU as you and sadly the only solution i found to get a stable FPS for the most part was to switch to stretched resolution (1600x1080). Otherwise frame drops are way too common especially in crucial moments. Depending on the map it can get even worse.
It's really strange, when i got this game back in 2018 i could run it on High/Ultra without much issues but now as you said, it's become a struggle to maintain a stable framerate even on low.
I think performance has taken a hit ever since the Unreal Engine update so that may explain why the game ran better back in 2018 as you say. What frustrates me is the lack of communication on this topic, it's as if BHVR are intentionally ignoring any questions to do with optimization.
We won't see optimization in this game.I already have given up on it at this point.
Don't you think it's a funny coincedence that the "Optimization" category has the "This is not happening" perk icon?
I guess the hidden message speaks the truth...
@MandyTalk I can see you have edited my opening post, please can you let me know the reason for this?
It's not been edited, just moved to the correct section of the forum.
Hi @MandyTalk no worries, I thought there may have been a formatting issue.
I really love this game but sometimes the optimization issues ruin the experience for me, I would be really grateful if you could provide any sort of update.
I'm used to hear just the standard answer: "Optimization is an ungoing process. Just check after each patch if it's going better. Or worse".
Not the way they're wording it, but that's how it feels to me. Switched to the most powerfull console and FPS actually got worse.
Yeah, it's a flip of a coin if the game is going to run slightly better or worse when a new patch is released.
