I'd wait and see how many major bugs this next mid-chapter brings before you get happy about them fixing the current ones. It might be worse overall, that's how it has been the last few big updates
They need to just start announcing the update a few days before so there is no need to speculate and hope and then get disappointed when 90 min prior, it's revealed no update. Other games offer weeks' notice about incoming DLC and updates. As soon as the 2/9 update is locked in, announce it. At the latest they will know one business day prior if the patch is certified for launch, according to another dev that revealed some insight on the Sony process.
That’s what I’m thinking. Still though, as understandable as that it is, it’s a shame we’re still waiting. I’m really looking forward to this mid chapter content.
After the last tome being extended a week and now this being delayed a week, this is the longest stretch between when the old tome (should) have normally ended and a new one beginning since they started those. And it's ridiculous they're still pulling this "we just haven't confirmed a release date" stuff, like everyone who plays this game regularly somehow doesn't know the schedules. Hell, like another poster said, the people who gather leaks about DBD do a better job informing the community at large about delays/release dates than the actual company themselves. That's pretty ridiculous.
New HUD is desperately needed. Old HUD didn't give enough info and was feeling dated anyway. I'd say just get over it and deal. It's not a big bad thing honestly. The game needs new coats of paint to keep up.
Does anyone else feel like we're putting too much faith that the devs are going to fix everything that's broken right now + the ptb feedback or is it just me?
Since they never released a release date they don't need too since there was never an official one. "Oh sorry for the delay you aren't supposed to know about because there was never a release date released to the community by us." Like seriously.
I mean, all the people that have been around for some time here should know that DbD and a properly working update without major bugs just doesn't exist
I think people need to chill out. You are obviously going to complain if the patch is rushed and brings bugs, so maybe don't complain when the patch is delayed
i mean, the last few patches had game breaking bugs, delayed or not, so i don't expect them to fix much even with a delay. That argument would have worked 2 years ago, but now not so much.
Sure, that may be true. If they are delaying the patch though it is most likely to make it as polished as possible. An extra week could mean a few less game breaking bugs.
People are just coming off as super entitled in this thread though become they're not getting daily updates, or moaning because this patch didn't come out as quickly as the last one.
Comments
well, if this "one week delay" helps improving the update and removes further bugs, i'm okay with it.
Can we get a confirmation of when the Q&A stream related to the upcoming Mid-Chapter is?
When I can confirm dates I will, at this moment I am not able to do that I'm afraid.
thanks for at least providing a clear update though! (not sarcasm, knowing it's delayed by a official source I am grateful for.)

agreed. it kinda sucks we have to rely on external sources like leaks websites rather than BHVR itself.

Very frustrating and disappointing. Keeping us in the dark about stuff that make us excited to play your game makes no sense.
It won't change anything if the past is any indicator.
yeah, let's keep expectations low at this point.

Probably should have confirmed beforehand then. We followed the algorithmic schedule of the game and some clarity beforehand is usually helpful.
That's too bad I've been looking forward to this update so that I can try and run a Fixated build for a while haha .. guess I'll just keep waiting.
Me too! Tired of getting dedicated by dead hard lol

Hope not I want to avoid that New HUD
I just hope the next tome is still coming out next week, i love those challenges :-(
