It doesn't matter if people complains about open communication setting the release dates and the delays as they should. It was the right thing to do regardless of how everyone felt, now they're leaving everyone in the dark with their releases and communication and that is absolutely the wrong thing to do, which should be an issue even if nobody complained about it.
If it was intended to release tomorrow and they had to delay it one week because reasons I prefer it to be that way, if they can use that extra week to fix more bugs they can delay the chapter all they want.
If they aren't fixed, they can't go live? Of course they can! So many bugs reported last chapter and they still went live. Don't assume it won't happen again.
As bummed as I am about the delay, I would've absolutely felt insulted as a consumer if there was any game breaking bugs. So if the Chapter launches later but smoothly, patience is a small price to pay.
If theirs any truth to this totally disappointed it's the curtain call chapter all over again. If im not mistaken that chapter is what literally made these servers god awful but i mean hey..if they gotta work on stuff they gotta work on it what can we do
A shame, was looking forward to playing him despite his daft look. Perhaps they saw sense and decided to release a full chapter instead of a half baked one and included a map ;)
Well they clearly stated multiple times that the „pattern“ of two weeks release after PTB is not set in stone... why are you demanding more communication when you are simultaneously ignore what they have told us?
It's The devs fault for not controlling the narrative. Most dev teams for live service games communicate ahead of time release dates. Destiny literally has a weekly update that goes over future content, balance changes, and expected release dates. Most of which they nail. Thats called being professional.
Dbd weirdly gets away with not doing bare minimum in communication to their fans
Saying, "We never officially confirmed a release date" is like your older sibling saying "I never promised you the cookie TODAY", it's beyond childish and reflects poorly on BHVR.
I just want to know why only paulie has brought this up wouldn't it make sense to bring this up with multiple fog whispers and if that's the case why not make an official statement
I'm really keeping my Hope's high by thinking that this is a early April fool's joke or something because I've been bored this month considering that clown buff was meh and not very entertaining
So was this brought up only with just one fog whisperer? We will hear about the delay from the others? If BHVR want to delay the chapter for whatever reason that's fine but the way they've communicated it is really confusing. Why have the fog whisperer act as PR manager? They could have just as easily said something about it on twitter or the forums and given clarification. Why now so close to what's to be the expected release date and not earlier? This whole thing really only brings up more questions than they answer. I ain't mad or nothing, just really confused?
Sorry, but I highly doubt that’s the case. The game has been out for 5 years, I’m sure they have a solid QA department, but sadly they can’t fix the actual issues with the game.
It very much is a fitting comparison considering that fact that BHVR themselves have stated in the past that they’ve moved from a 2 week PTB>Live schedule to a 3 week one. They showcased the Killer and Survivor last week, clearly building hype for the Live release the following week.
The only reason they don’t communicate live releases with us is because they want to avoid backlash by saying “but we didn’t say when it would release, we just said it was coming soon, you can’t hold that against us because we didn’t announce anything” which is exactly the problem. By not communicating with us, all we can do is speculate based on previous release patterns and the small bits of information they do give us (announced release patterns and showcases).
They literally just want to avoid as much backlash as possible. I don’t totally blame them because of how utterly toxic the community is, but it’s completely unprofessional and makes me lose respect for them as a company.
True. But it's not like the speculation was uncertain or not known. Through a third party and literally the night before the speculated date was probably not the best way to announce a delay.
Remember how years ago someone said "use your Iri heads, they're going away SOON" and we are only hearing about Huntress add-on rework now? Makes sense coming from BHVR, this unclarified and kinda shady way to deal with communication and information, especially when it comes to balance changes. And then, when the change actually goes public it is small or disliked.
DBD is the only game I know of where DLC releases are sometimes not even known until a few hours before release. We also never know anything about the Chapter in advance until the PTB, then we know everything. Most other games build momentum and teasers leading up to the full reveal. It's such a strange system.

Never another A Binding of Kin.
Its not really complaning considering it confusion
Because not everyone knows of the fog whispers and there is never any official answer so you have to take it with a grain of salt
The devs need to make a forum post or tweet about the DLC chapter which is/was on schedule for tomorrow based on logic.
I know they never announced a date, but it's been a month since PTB.
Come on.
Day before what? There was no official statement the chapter would be released tomorrow.
The extra time is most likely due to console certification. Don't expect major changes from what we saw during the PTB.
Lame... and there's not even any new maps or map reworks in this chapter.
Feels like it's taking ages to just get bare bones content.

Yes, this is most likely the reason. So nobody should expect any changes, other than those they already mentioned a week ago.
If theirs any truth to this totally disappointed it's the curtain call chapter all over again. If im not mistaken that chapter is what literally made these servers god awful but i mean hey..if they gotta work on stuff they gotta work on it what can we do
Can't wait for them to take an entire month between PTB release and still get nothing done
A shame, was looking forward to playing him despite his daft look. Perhaps they saw sense and decided to release a full chapter instead of a half baked one and included a map ;)
„The devs should communicate with us“

Saw a tweet saying 30th March at the earliest lol.
Another week to fix
The spammertrickster and to avoid another 50 new bugs, I'm sure about that :)It's The devs fault for not controlling the narrative. Luckily Hunt Showdowns event starts tommorow! See ya in the Bayouu!
Has anyone else said this?
That’s not a fitting comparison though..
they have always said it isn’t a fixed pattern.
adter the Twins chapter, they probably increased QA and bug fixing time, as heavily requested by the community.
we have precedent of longer time between PTB and release, just the last mid-chapter.
at least the forum mods have reconfirmed multiple times that there was and is no set release date.
Yes he did post that but it very well could be another troll as he did with the leak he posted

“Increased QA”
Sorry, but I highly doubt that’s the case. The game has been out for 5 years, I’m sure they have a solid QA department, but sadly they can’t fix the actual issues with the game.

Sorry but it would be way more unprofessional to confirm release dates and then not holding them.
they said they are aiming for the 3 weeks, yes, but they also always that it could take longer.
and more time planned for QA is still a reasonable assumption after Twins chapter. Even though you personally find it unlikely.
(also currently we don’t have a confirmed release date, tomorrow is still possible..)
Pretty sure I remember them saying this when they announced the trickster. They did give a date
